Expecting loyalty from players who could just as well be traded from a team without a by-your-leave is naive.

This is how Tarik Black left Houston:
For the past few pages, I've been told that it isn't what a player does, but how he does it that irks people, yet you enlightened folk don't seem to get the way Parsons left could have rubbed people the wrong way.
Houston granted me the opportunity of even wearing the NBA logo for a guy that went undrafted. I was blessed to even make that team and even have the opportunity. I talked to some of the guys in the front office, coaching staff & I just thanked them all for the blessing they presented to me. I'm so thankful to the city of Houston. It's business. Nothing negative. I still love this team, still love the city. You got an undrafted free agent and you got Josh Smith, superstar. I think most GMs would have taken him. This is how Chandler Parsons left Houston:

You guys root for a bonafide pedoish dude and then you're expecting us to give a shit that Parsons left your fucking team.

Manu is kuroko?
The game yesterday was crazy. When Toronto went on that 15 point run in the 4th and Greivis hit that shot to tie the game, that was aloud as I've ever heard that place. They had the chance to win it with that tip-in at the buzzer, but it rimmed out. After that, you could tell they just had no gas left.
I don't know if the game was too early or both teams were just tight or what, but everybody was bricking wide open shots. I don't expect scores like that for the rest of the series.
Washington's fast break defence is really impressive. They have 3, 4 guys back every time. Toronto only got 6 fast break points off 12 turnovers.
And I can't even hate Pierce, the guy is kind of amazing. Watching him on the court, he barely moves half the time. There were some defensive possessions he took maybe two steps. He just knows where to be, and his shot was money.
Sucks the Raps lost, but it was still a good time and I called the series to go 6 anyway. They beat Washington with 3s all year, they're not going to shoot 20% from outside the whole series.

Cheer for a pedophile and chant M-V-P for a guy that has sex with prostitutes, but tarnish a good guy's name cause he signed a contract in the club: Rockets Fans.
You asked what the difference between Matthews and Parsons leaving their teams was, and I gave you a reasonable answer.
Are these non-sequiturs really what you're going to bring up every time you're presented with one?

By Face it Tiger.. Go To PostAs a Torontonian Idon'tbelieveyou.gif. even back to back non-play-off years, the leafs have sold out games. And the Raps have people chilling around playoff time in the local Nathan Phillips Square, in Toronto.. and other places in Canada.
Canada is aight but the Raptors games i've been too were nothing special :)
i stand by my original statement.

No I don't expect loyalty, but if you want to tell me he didn't sign the offer sheet to spite Morey is being just as naive.
Rockets fans were really booing Parson because he signed a contract for more money in a club. That real petty. Rockets fans need to grow up if that true.

The games are in Houston and it's the playoffs. It's their job to create a hostile atmosphere, and you're acting like Houston fans are the first in history to boo a former player.
Plus it's kind of impossible to expect loyalty when the player can't even sign a offer sheet with their current team.
Oh well, people are going to believe what they want to believe. What reason do we have to cheer Parsons is probably a better question? He certainly didn't win us anything.

By chandlerparsons Go To PostYou asked what the difference between Matthews and Parsons leaving their teams was, and I gave you a reasonable answer.Actually, I initially asked how you can be okay about acquiring Harden over money issues but boo Chandler over it. And then you proceeded to play the morality angle, making your entire argument just... Odd. And how can it be non-sequitors when you bring up the morality/humbleness angle?

I wouldn't be surprised if Artest got booed his first game back in Houston wearing a Lakers jersey.

Well relio is kind of does "give a shit", he was the one to call me a hypocrite.
Don't really care for their personal lives again, not my business. I'm just happy to have a competitive team again.
Being mad that a guy took more money elsewhere...that you could have matched is silly.
If any of you dudes were Parsons, you would have signed the deal too. Loyalty is overrated in businesses in which your ass is grass at the drop of the hat.

I should still reserve my right as a fan to boo/criticize/belittle Parsons for his decision because this is SPORTS.
He's going to make millions on millions now when he pretty much overplayed his rookie contract.

Pretty much. Players gonna get theirs. When discussions of a Blazer leaving come up I just think, welp get that money while you can. Shelf life of any one of these athletes is dependent on a myriad of factors including a career ending injury. When the owners make that much more money from your playing and or a possible trade with you in it, who looks to loyalty to the organization first?
By reilo Go To PostActually, I initially asked how you can be okay about acquiring Harden over money issues but boo Chandler over it. And then you proceeded to play the morality angle, making your entire argument just… Odd. And how can it be non-sequitors when you bring up the morality/humbleness angle?Shouldn't booing Harden be something OKC fans should be worrying about? Like I mentioned in my post, it wasn't that he went elsewhere to get paid better, it was in the manner that he did it.
If you can't appreciate the difference in class between Black's departure and Parsons', and how it might have an effect on their former fans, there's really no hope of understanding. Departures is what we were talking about, right? The departures of Harden, Matthews and Parsons? It seems like less of a leap to bring up the departure of another player in Black than to bring up prostitutes, no?
You brought up the night club signing as the reason to boo him. Like... If that's all it takes to judge a player, why aren't you applying the same standards to Harden and Dwight? That was your argument, not mine. My argument was about the money.
By chandlerparsons Go To PostHe called Houston dirty and Dallas the better city. That is how he has projected himself to endear himself to his new fans.was it in a tweet?
By reilo Go To PostIt all comes down to money. Parsons is "hated" because he went and sought out an offer sheet, much like Harden wanted a max offer which OKC rebuffed. It would be like Utah fans booing Wesley Matthews for signing with Portland, but yet they don't. Why?
The Parsons thing would be like an employee leaving a firm for a competitor that offered more money. Which is perfectly fine.
The Harden thing is like an employee angling for a pay raise and then getting sent to a competitor that he didn't choose right afterward.
I don't think there should be boos towards Parsons, but the situations aren't really similar...
Its the "derby" angle too, Mavs and Rox is regional rival.. I always see this Parsons thing is like if you moved to Arsenal from Tottenham Spurs in soccer.
