Rox ain't out of the woods yet, has there been any update on how Dwight's back and knee are feeling?
Never been a back issue I've heard on with Dwight.
Dwight might need microfracture as well. So far so good though

Seriously fuck Morey, don't give him credit for avoiding this. Its not like Parson had a injury history that pointed towards eventual microfracture surgery. He handled last offseason horribly but just got lucky, as as a GM thats all you need sometimes.
On the flip Cuban must once again feel like the biggest asshole in the NBA after all the shit he talked blowing up in his face at once.

Back issues lead to knee issues, don't think it's a coincidence that once he returned from back surgery his knee started to act up.

Even then its not like Morey planned for Parson to leave. He was gambling on Bosh going to the Rockets and then going over the cap to resign Parson. If he had got his way the Rockets would likely have been fucked with both those guys eating cap and not being 100% next season if not beyond.

It's total luck, I'm not saying Morey called this and I'm pretty sure Phaze was joking with his MoreyDaGawd comment.

fair enough, also with Chandler going down, not one team has had a happy ending with the modern poison pill contract. Bad Karma is Bad Karma

What a terrible contract. Cuban remains a gigantic joke.

Yes, Morey got lucky acquiring all of the players of a 56 win team that suffered the most injuries of any playoff team. So lucky.

There are injuries and then they're microfracture and bloodclots in the lung level injuries.
Add to that Parson and Bosh would of taken about 30 mil in rockets cap space..... that is like half the salary cap next season.
Morey is a lucky son of a bitch and deep down right now he knows it.

When you consider the alternative (Morey's preferred) plan....yea, you'd have to be an absolute dunce to think otherwi....oh.

Feel bad for Parsons, but fuck Cuban. What you get for being a gigantic dick through that whole process.
I know the opinion of Bill Simmons on this board is mixed at best, but his podcast with Brian Windhorst today had a story about the origin of Paul Pierce and Lebron's animosity toward each other that I hadn't heard before.
Windhorst is really high on this Wizards team. A Washington-Cleveland ECF would be fun.

By reilo Go To PostI thought we were done with microfracture surgery… damn. Most of the other surgeries that have been done instead of microfracture were preferred because the healing time was quicker.
They also don't appear to be as good at fixing the problem. And have a higher recurrence rate. Something they were promised to "be better than traditional at".

By Moris Go To PostChandler Parsons knee thing was just out of nowhere too wasn't it?Well, it's mainly about cartilage damage, which is usually an over time thing unless he suffered a traumatic injury.
I'll just leave this here: http://www.slaent.com/thread/204447/
By giririsss Go To PostMost of the other surgeries that have been done instead of microfracture were preferred because the healing time was quicker.Pretty sure I read that microfracture surgery didn't actually produce the results it was billed as doing, and the drop-off in microfracture surgery has been due to advancements in repairing cartilage and a better understanding of it.

By reilo Go To PostPretty sure I read that microfracture surgery didn't actually produce the results it was billed as doing, and the drop-off in microfracture surgery has been due to advancements in repairing cartilage and a better understanding of it.Hmm, sorta. A lot of the guys are opting just going straight cartilage removal/clean instead of the repair.
Microfracture cleans out the tear, and by causing a lot of little fractures in the are of the bone just below, it generates new cartilage. This new cartilage is not as strong as the stuff you're born with. So there's a chance it can wear away, and you will have to re-do the procedure. It's also more effective in the younger players because they tend to have more stem cells in the affected areas (important part of the new cartilage). And there's no guarantee it works, so you could have just caused a whole bunch of little fractures in your knee area, for no benefit. It works most of the time though.
The real downside being that because of those fractures, and having to wait for the new cartilage to grow and form, the recovery time is really long.

Sorry man. Went through it with my first dog some years ago that I had since pre-k. Feel like I'm going to be going through it soon with my German Shepard who is now 13 :(. Dreading the day.
Parsons... geez. When I destroyed/shred my Rockets jersey of his I didn't think it would ever have a ripple effect down to destroying his knee. He will never be the same.
I'm nervous about tonight's game.
