I was in Belgrade the past few days. Went to the Red Star game against Rad last weekend. Think you mainly have to look out for their number 10, captain Marko Marin. He kept on dribbeling and delivering key passes to keep the game alive.
Was a fun game to visit by the way. Think there were roughly 15.000 people at a 53.000 capacity stadium. Of which probably 10.000 representing their ultras. They were the only guys making ruckus and they just kept on throwing torches and stuff on to the pitch. It was a really odd sight, seeing them trying to damage their own pitch. They even did when their own goalie was the one at their side. They also have a couple of firemen with water buckets around the pitch to grab the torches when they are thrown to put them in the buckets. Except for that one guy at the ultras they were all just chilling and watching the game though.
This was basically how all the stands were. I was at the long side with some folks scathered around. Same on the other side of us.
Except for the ultras who were partying hard all game.
Sometimes a bit too hard by throwing torches on the pitch. The guy in the middle of the picture with the yellow helmet and the bucket next to him was the fireman on our side. He had fuck all to do.
And roughly 30 meters left of me we had the away fans. Just a bunch of lads enjoying a night in Belgrade.
This stadium visit wasn't really planned. But we met a guy at bar who told us tickets were like 5 euros. It turned out even cheaper, barely 3,50 euros for the game. So we had nothing to lose. Was a bit of a bummer though that they didn't sell beer, only Heineken zero alcohol.
