Think Emery should be gone really. Thereâs been one positive of his time in charge, and thatâs a really fantastic commitment to playing youth. Guendouzi has shone since day one; Willock, Saka, Nelson and Martinelli are all getting game time. He should be commended for that.
But weâre almost a season and a half into his reign and they have gone backwards from Wenger, already so maligned and so often. His team selections are baffling. They donât press, or have lots of shots, or do anything particularly well. Theyâre rank average.
Theyâve signed ten or eleven first team players, integrated two or three youth products, all to look worse.

Do you reckon Arteta still wants the job

Who would you want in charge?
If they donât go for Allegri they are mental
Would give it to Ljungberg till the end of the season imo, but yeah I think Emery is staying. There's still 7 months to go.
Are you suggesting that Kidjr is turning into TY, Pele? Wouldn't mind Freddie at this point as an interim if we couldn't get Allegri.

By noal Go To PostOkay Arse bros.Allegri, if we're going to play boring defensive football I'd at least like us to be good at it.

By Freewheelin Go To PostArteta is nailed on for the City job when Pep leavesIs he truly? That's who Pep wants him to succeed but has Abu Dhabi committed? If Pep doesn't win them a CL before he leaves I could see them going for a big name experienced manager instead.
No but fa real should be allegri, think there is decent platform there to work with.
Wondering about Mou, I know how it'll end, I know I shouldnt but the name is still a lure.
It's kind like when you'd think about going down on stripper, you probably shouldn't however, the appeal... it's is just there.

I donât think he should be sacked. I still think itâs within his capabilities to get top four given the atrocious competition and destabilising them now could send them into an even worse set of results.
Letâs not pretend itâs Emery whoâs suddenly introduced a culture of losing away or bottling a big TV fixture. Arsenal just need to get better at grinding out their home form and hope Laca and Auba can stay fit.
Theyâre good enough to get top four if they can.
Should probably drop Pepe, too. Thatâs an experiment which needs putting back in the oven for a month or so.

One of our regulars is like 80 and eats out the dancers all the time. Genuinely don't understand how he's still alive.

I think the fact heâs fifteen months into the job and they have regressed is on him. He came in promising pressing, attacking football and they are shit. Their xG numbers, attacking and defensively, are poor. His team selections are constantly all over the place. I donât see how he has brought them forward in any way since his arrival other than a commitment to playing youth.

A key criticism of Wengerâs Arsenal was style over substance, so you wouldnât blame him for trying to introduce some new solidity and mental characteristics to this team. We can argue whether heâs managed that, but I think by the end of last season they did approach a level of consistency.
I just think they needed to spend more of their transfer budget on players who could help the team immediately. Itâs really poor recruitment alongside a manager who is struggling to introduce his ideas, for sure.
Doesnât mean the manager should be outright sacked nine games into the season though.

By Xpike Go To PostDo you reckon Arteta still wants the jobItâs a poor squad. Outside of the two strikers and Guendouzi thereâs not much there worth keeping if you want to be a consistent Champions League club.

I like Tierney but he hasnât really played a game for Arsenal yet, despite some faux cup minutes.

They signed Leno, Sokratis, Lichtsteiner, Guendouzi and Torreira last season, Ceballos, Luiz, Pepe, Martinelli and Tierney this. Even accounting for the latterâs injuries, that is more than enough to improve that team threefold. Yet Torreira rides the bench after Xhaka puts in poor performance after poor performance. Thatâs not even mentioning the emergence of Saka, Nelson and Willock. All those players, plus Lacazette, Aubameyang, Ozil (who doesnât play in a side crying out for creativity) and theyâre still having less shots per game than half the league.
I donât think Emery should be sacked based on his performance this season. I think he should be sacked because the side has regressed during jis time at the club. He was a Gazidis choice, not the current head honchos. If they were brave, theyâd accept he isnât working out and make their own decision.
All fair points Nathan and I can see your case. I suppose I just donât have any faith in Arsenal turning a mid-season sacking into a more positive result by the seasonâs end. And I still believe thereâs a chance that he gets this squad to play cohesively enough to push aside much of this league using two incredible strikers.

Everyone but Liverpool has done poorly but we can't seem to ever go into a match believing we'll win comfortably under Emery
Watchmen's first episode was really good.
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have to be one of the best composing teams of all time.
