Controversial but I think he does that on purpose after knowing he fucked up. A broken arm is going to overshadow a massive howler for the 2nd week running.
EDIT: People keep saying why would he want to break him arm and miss the season etc.. I think he potentially wanted to just incur a minor injury like a sprain or fracture and overshot. The fall looks very unnatural to me.
