Another takeaway from yesterday’s game - besides scoring a fluke, Harry Kane’s sole contribution was to dive theatrically and scream like his appendix had burst, and do a solid Doicare impression in his post match interview.
Another Spurs player who needs to take a long look at themselves and realise that scoring 30 goals in 2016 means fuck all today.

Torreira turning out to be the softest player in the league is a wonderful ironic microcosmic example of Arsenal right now
Finished watching the Arsenal match, and I have to say that part of their problem is the same as ours, terrible transitioning between defence and offence.
You can see their attempts at making tactical fouls too, but it's hard to give them shit for that since only City has able to do that well, and hasn't really been as good at it as before this season.

Arsenal's main problem is that any opposition team needs to make about 3 relatively low risk passes to suddenly find themselves one on one with one of their very poor centre backs.

I have always identified Emery as a great Europa League manager, probably because of his success in that competition with Sevilla. In my opinion that it is his level. I look at that Arsenal squad and you see them lining up with players like Chambers, Sokratis, Xhaka and realistically its probably their level too.
Arsenal are now lying in 5th. Slap bang in Europa and to be honest that would not be too shabby if teams like Tottenham and Man U were up there fighting for those top 4 spots. Right now though they are both absolute piss and Arsenal fans are looking up at Brendan Rodgers blitzing through teams with Leicester City and a Chelsea team who everyone expected to have a bad season performing well with an inexperienced team and an inexperienced manager.

thank reddit for the summary.
Raul can fuck right off if he thinks he did a great job in the transfer window. I am happy with it, but it isn’t like we add proven quality starters. We signed a guy at CB who can’t play for us this year, another at CB who is a joke, a LB who has a history of Injury problems, and a winger who nobody had heard of before he signed.
Emery has got a lot wrong, but the squad is still just awful defensively. None of the players who have played at CB should be anywhere near to starting, same with Xhaka and Guen. While the fullback cover continues to be just awful.
This side has no identity and relies on star players bailing us out, but I have been happy with Emery’s treatment of players like Ozil and his commitment to playing youth. I hope he can turn it around before the end of the season, but to want him gone now is just crazy unless the club can confirm Allegri. And even he might not be able to do much with our defence.
By Willkiller Go To PostTorreira turning out to be the softest player in the league is a wonderful ironic microcosmic example of Arsenal right nowGuendouzi came in and just totally usurped him from day 1 and the child-sized man was quickly forgotten. I know he hasn't been there long but I honestly didn't remember he was still at Arsenal.
By Oddinho Go To PostI remember an incident years back, Shane Long getting ahead of Skrtel, and the same thing happening. I’m quite sure I had a different opinion at the timeI honestly don't care who was involved in the play -- that is just never a foul. You can't just jump in front of a players swinging leg and get a foul out of it. To me, if there is a foul it's going the other direction: Mane impeded Aurier's action. They should have just played on though.

Through all this Xhaka talk I've noticed a lot of wilful forgetfulness that it was the players that voted to give him the captain's armband and thereby necessitated that he plays week in week out. Just saying.

Nothing about Arsenal is surprising.
As for Spurs, Aurier needed to be shipped off 3 yrs ago when he had that stupid red hair.

By Arnie Go To PostThat is a really bad shortlist of managers for a club like Arsenal. I do think Emery is up there with the best of the bunch, although the job just hasn’t gone very well. It’s definitely a problem that 18 months in Emery’s English is so bad. It’s not even just the grasp of the language but the pronunciation.Brenden would have been considered below Emery a year ago and look how well that's going, and Emery has more credentials than Lampard and look at they've done at their respective clubs.
I dont think Henry would do as well as Lampard, maybe Arteta would be solid. The point is nobody knows but at this point we should be like women who just got of a marriage with her high school sweethart and try out different managers. It's done wonders for Chelsea.

You got to think of the kids though? What happens to them whilst you are slagging it up all these different managers? What happens to Guendouzi? What happens to Willock? They fall behind, turn to drugs, end up at West Ham. Is Wenger still allowed to see them every other Wednesday?

Some good news. I have no clue if he'll ever reach a level where he would have been a regular for the Dutch if he'd gone that way, but I'm glad to have another top prospect in our pool. Hopefully he continues to grow as a player.

Yeah I'm not too happy with this news. Besides Dumfries we don't really have much quality for his position. And if he keeps developing the way he's doing now he sure has the potential to become a mainstay in our national team. He kind of came out of nowhere to be fair this season. So hard to predict how things will go from here, but so far he's looking quite good. But fair game, as opposed to some of the Morrocan players who chose Morroco over us in the past he actually went trough all the youth teams in the USA. As a country we never invested in Dest as a footballer and now he's surfacing at Ajax all of a sudden we'd like to add him to our squad. Good for Dest he can make his own decision in the matter. At least I get to enjoy him in the jersey I care most about.

From a marketing point of view this is actually the better choice for Ajax. We’ve been really investing in the (central/south) American market lately. Opened up an office in NY and displayed some huge ads on buildings in Manhattan. As well as full page ads in newspapers in the US, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.
With Alex Mendez we have another American at the club by the way.
