By FortuneFaded Go To Post50 million Corbyns for a temporary fix? It’s Manchester United.
(Not saying I agree with Odd)
By Oddinho Go To PostI get the feeling AWB is just a temporary fix. Not a terrible thing, mind you, but he isn’t good enough going forward. I don’t think there’s a single CL winning team in recent times that didn’t have at least one excellent creative fullback.Well they have to get back to the CL to compete for it first and foremost, Odd, and getting the black Konchesky is one step closer to the competition so it is a smart signing no doubt.
James and Maguire are pretty good though.
By Flutter Go To PostSo if Emery is fired, who should replace him? Allegri, Arteta, or…
Would obviously take him if he can get back to his best. His record speaks for itself... people are quick to forget.
By Flutter Go To PostSo if Emery is fired, who should replace him? Allegri, Arteta, or…Sure why not
Depends if Mou can get Arsenal playing counter attacking like his Madrid team....i wouldn't be opposed to it however I suspect a few fans will stop supporting the team if he came.

I’d go for it if I was Arsenal. You’re guaranteed a title challenge in his second season, and when he sets fire to it all in his third season the you’ll probably not be much worse off.
By Oddinho Go To PostStrange, I Didn’t think saying “AWB isn’t good going forward” is that controversial of an opinion.they're very sensitive lately
Can anyone point to any posts that got wound up in response to Odd's posts? Do I have people on ignore or something?

mourinho at arsenal wouldn't change anything.
he'd only be there for the short-term without the short-term results.
give me a man of vision.

By Flutter Go To PostChris Smalling conceded a penalty for Roma last night because the ball… hit his face. That is a shocking decision. Wow.
I was very adamant that Arsenal should have hired Arteta over Emery (who is a nothing coach like I said at the time) because at least there was potential for growth with him. If it didn't work out, they'd probably just be in a similar position to before he joined. They really still should hire him but hopefully he sticks around -- I am sure he must be lined up to be Pep's replacement when he leaves.

I will say that I was wrong about them not seriously challenging for the top 4. They managed that last season thanks in part to that massive gulf between 1-2 and 3-6. A similar situation may happen this year. But a legitimate title challenge is just not going to happen so shaking things up and going for broke is a better solution (i.e. Chelsea with Lampard).
It feels a bit pointless to me. Arsenal won't challenge for the title under Arteta or Emery. I know Chelsea had the season a few years ago where it went absolutely tits up, but realistically I can't see Arsenal doing worse than 7th or 8th with either of them in charge. The gulf between the top clubs and the lower half is so substantial that it'd be a major shock if one of them fell beyond that threshold again so soon. Why not try and hit a homerun with a young guy like Arteta? Worst case it doesn't work out and you move on and then try something more boring/practical after that, but to me the benefits far outweigh the negatives. Emery feels like a waste of everyone's time.

"They said something. [I'm] not being disrespectful, but this is like training for me," Ibrahimovic said of the incident.
"The stadium is too small for me. This is a walk in the park."
"If I stay it will be good for MLS because the whole world will watch it," Ibrahimovic added.
"If I don't stay, nobody will remember what MLS is."
He's great.

Crazy that there are still people who aren't bored of him. It was mildly amusing for about a week, 8 years ago.
I'll watch his goals though when they're linked

Zlatan is a dork. He came to MLS to try and make something of himself in America but it's really only been a tiny dent in LA I guess and he'd still be entirely unknown to most of the population there. Soccer just doesn't matter here unless you're David Beckham-level famous/hot. He's still a great player so I hope he sticks around longer for the league's sake but he won't gain anything here at this point by sticking around. Would be interesting if he moved to NYCFC if his contract is ending.
Have finally been watching Succession.. fantastic. Finished s1 today at lunch -- what an absolute bombshell of an episode (no surprise).
I watched the ranch therapy episode a couple days ago. I was about to give up on it but that episode and the one before it brought it all together for me.
Pray for Southampton.
