By Meier Go To PostMaybe already discussed but looking forward to hearing regularly for the next number of years from countless journalists and fans about how unethical this.It would have to be unethical first, which it likely isn't in our case, since it's all been done under the sun and presumably in accordance with FFP.
Probably doesn't come even close to crossing the "fair value" threshold, unlike the deals of certain two clubs, which ... well, you know.
I'm sorry, Meier-chan. It's a cross you'll simply have to bear, as we all do.
lots of clubs are sponsored by sister companies especially in Italy
Pirelli and Inter etc
they're actually trying to replace them with Evergrande too, another one of theirs.

6 wins in a row in all competitions for Chelsea. Fantastic run but I expect it will come to an end tomorrow against Burnley. Sean Dyche will be stroking his little ginger beard with glee watching our defending from set pieces this season. Its our biggest weakness and something he will look to exploit. Probably fair Pulisic gets a start as he has looked good coming off the bench in recent games.
I do see Meier’s point. It’s definitely suspect. Although I presume a lot of this goes on globally with many, many clubs. In reality that additional wage bill just pays for another couple of CM free signings that they’ll never actually play.
But there’s a huge amount of difference between that and what Manchester City are. Which is actually unethical.

Also I dont need to even google to know that the Juventus Agnelli connection and sponsorships is a big talking point for Serie A fans.
By Plasma Go To PostJesus god. We're back in pre-season.
Nike and LFC just won the court case. Bye Bye New Balance. Hello Jadon Sancho.
How was Garner last night, bhoys?
See Williams getting a lot of praise.
Liking the 3-4-1-2 in theory. Maguire, Lindelof and Axel/Rojo need the cover, and it’ll also give Pogba and McTom more defensive cover too. We just need a 10 for it to work. Play Rashford there and James up top?

Garner got better in 2nd half. Bit nervy first. Williams was a fun and agressive cannon ball.
Not utterly convinced. Main issue like with our 4-2-3-1 is you need a number 10 that looks like a functioning football player in order to link and create attacks, and not a useless blackhole of creativity.

Man City's sponsorship deals that came under scrutiny were the Ethihad linked ones. They were clearly overpaying for a club of that size. Isn't Etihad Airways owned by the government? They were basically throwing money without any care for an actual return.
Fiat Chrysler is a public company, and why the Agnelli's holding company controls a hughe amount of voting stock, I do believe that the board has to show that any deals are in the best interest of the shareholders. And with this Jeep deal I think it clearly is in the interest of the shareholders, as Juve's global prescence has jumped up since the deal was first signed and keeping the relationship strong is good for Jeep.

By Flutter Go To PostAlso I dont need to even google to know that the Juventus Agnelli connection and sponsorships is a big talking point for Serie A fans.Well, of course. It's Juve. People are still talking about De Ligt's non-handball from Juve - Bologna. It's a literal textbook case of never a handball, no sophisticated interpretation needed, you can quote the exact article from the rulebook. You should've seen the articles. Renowned sports journalists talking about how they feel it should've been a pen "despite the rules", while De Ligt's "sardonic smile" was a clear admission of guilt.
These fuckers haven't even thanked Agnelli for pretty much single-handedly securing 4 CL spots for Italy.

We're two months into the season now so I think we've got a good view on how our summer signings have settled. They've easily been our best players this season. Maguire is so composed on the ball and dominant in the air. Brought a level of calmness that I haven't seen in the United defence in ages. Like, we still invite too much pressure on ourselves because midfield isn't doing enough to stop attacks, but I've more faith that our defenders will stop attacks than I had last season.
AWB. Has been phenomenal also. He's such a natural defender. He doesn't often get caught out of position, but when he does he has the speed to track back and snuff out an attack. He's trying on attack also. He's no TAA going forward, but few are. He's also not helped by the fact our attacks are so insipid. The Liverpool game at the weekend showed how he should be used. Push him up to halfway and let him push back the opposition fullback.
James is the biggest surprise. No experience at the highest level, but that hasn't stopped him being excellent. I thought he was a touchline hugging speedster. But he has no problem coming off his wing and contributing to our play. Brilliant signing for what was a relatively cheap fee.

Agree with cleggy. Think all three of our signings have been really bright and positive. Feels like a long time since we can say that.
I get the feeling AWB is just a temporary fix. Not a terrible thing, mind you, but he isn’t good enough going forward. I don’t think there’s a single CL winning team in recent times that didn’t have at least one excellent creative fullback.
James and Maguire are pretty good though.

maybe. Chelsea spent like 35 on Drinkwater and that wasnt any sort of fix at all.
