Good athlete. Capable perimeter defender. Broken jumpshot. High upside. Could do worse with your late round pick
LaVine is pretty bad, I don't see him being in the NBA in a couple of years. This is probably the right decision though. Avoid the JMM worry and try to get the first-round money.
Awesome stats, quick, great handles, too skinny to be that effective in the paint, bad shooter. Similar to a 6'4 Rondo with less creativity.

Anyone thinks Randle's rebounding might actually translate?
Who's the last guy that was good at rebounding in college and couldn't do it in the pros?
If even Dajuan Blair did it, anyone can. :p
Thomas Robinson boarded well in college and is garbage in the NBA
18.9 Rebounding rate is nothing to sneeze at. Too bad he's garbaging at everything else, but he's a good rebounder.
Yeah I thought he was just a taller Ryan Kelly, but he looked really good. He needs to get stronger though. Saw that Jefferson kid seal him off a few times. That shouldn't happen.
What did Pelton say about Wiggins for those who have insider?

As discussed when Chad Ford and I debated Wiggins' NBA potential, his relatively pedestrian advanced statistics don't match his reputation. Wiggins' translated college statistics don't put him in the top 25 percent of NBA-bound wings in any of the nine core skills I evaluate for strengths and weaknesses. At this point, individual defense – which doesn't show up in the box score – is probably Wiggins' best skill. That's valuable, but not the stuff of superstardom.
The interesting question is how different Wiggins' impact will be in the NBA game. An open floor will help him take more advantage of his athleticism around the basket. At the same time, he's unlikely to get as many of the transition opportunities that fueled his production at Kansas. According to Synergy Sports, Wiggins shot 62.0 percent in transition as compared to just 41.4 percent in half-court sets.
And then Chad Ford's requisite "if he just fixes his handle and jumper he'll be amazing" Kansas homerism

I don't think Capela's games are online for free, but he's playing at the Nike Hoops Summit this year.

How did Larry Brown recruit a John Wall type PG prospect who is a projected top 5 pick for next year? Maybe Mudiay will get through the year with his soul though. McDonalds game is tomorrow night.
Sounds like Tyus Jones and Cliff Alexander have been the two standouts coming out of McD's practices.
Really excited to see how Jah does in an actual game.
In 2014 news, Gary Harris is expected to announce soon(ish). Hawks might have a shot at him if the Knicks get our playoff spot.
lel.

This game is so terrible compared to past years. Karl Towns and Myles Turner look like they run in quicksand. Hopefully they, and Alexander and Okafor, are more athletic than they have looked in this game.

All I can read is Harrison Barnes
Meh. Hopefully Turner and Okafor against Capela will be more interesting.
that draft class looks like ass
the only good thing is that there's going to be a ridiculous infusion of centers between next years draft and the year after
we're already at a point where almost every team in the league has a true starting level center, in some cases teams have one sitting on the bench
not having to pay starting bigs the max due to scarcity is awesome for the game
Wiggins is becoming underrated. 17ppg against a strong schedule in the flow of an offense is really impressive for a rookie.
I still think Jabari is the better prospect by a longshot though. People are going to be surprised by his combine numbers. The kid is really athletic--he's just out of shape.
Aaron Harrison with the most random clutch streak of all time.
Watch one of them end up being the next cheapo point guard the Heat get that hits big shots in the post season
what are people's thoughts on James Young? Is he a better prospect than either Harrison twin?
Yes,
But that is a very low bar
Andrew Harrison and Young will likely be the best pros. For Harrison--just the ability to have court spacing that isn't complete ass at the next level will really let his physical tools shine a lot more.
As for Young it's more about his body developing. He's a much better shooter than he showed this year. He will be a journeyman roleplayer at worst. In terms of achieving more than that it'll depend on how his dribble drive game develops which we didn't see much of this year.

Andrew Harrison is probably heading to China after his college career is over. Too slow, too ground-bound, and too uncoordinated to be effective in the NBA. Young has some chance if he becomes a good shooter.

Harrison is explosive. Problem is he didn't get any opportunity to use his strength (size/slashing) due to how ridiculous college basketball courts are. You take a court that already has zero court spacing to begin with and then have to run into teams that play nothing but zone. You can see it in his numbers. 5 FTA a game but a low FG percentage. Decent three point clip.
Its why I think Smart is going to be amazing in the NBA. He's going to be nightmarish with increased court spacing.

Virtually all of his advanced stats went up this year, and his numbers went up to 18/6/5. He had a 27.4 PER in conference this season. Beast.
Imagine how good he'll be if he gets with a real coach instead of Travis Ford.

Is he really explosive though? He's strong and can finish over smaller guys (not exactly consistent in that regard either), but it's not like he's blowing by people all the time.
All I know is Julius Randle seems like hot garbage. Every game I watched where he played he was invisible.

Embiid making announcement tomorrow.
