Did they stop VAR'ing penalties? Ter Stegen was nowhere near touching the goal line there. I remember that was a big thing at women's WC
i dont really mind the keeper coming off the line tbh. they're already at enough of a disadvantage on pens.
By domino Go To Posti dont really mind the keeper coming off the line tbh. they're already at enough of a disadvantage on pens.I agree but what's the point of changing the rule and then failing to implement it 2 months later?
Werent the rules changed quite in favor of the keeper this summer? As in, as long as they have anything at all on the line, they can leave it, and they can jump forward as soon as the ball is kicked?
Or maybe I dreamt this up in a fever dream.

And it looked like the ref was explaining exacfly that to ter Stegen before the pen was taken. And then he's one step in front of the line when it's taken. Simply not understandable to me.

Only seen 1 pen retaken and think it was Aguero in the PL for an opposition player being in the box.

And then he's one step in front of the line when it's taken. Simply not understandable to me.there was a huge (var)backlash at womens wc, when goalie left line 5 cm and penalty had to be retaken. I think epl said we are not going to check that with var, only ref.
no idea how it is with CL rules/var check
