By Perfect Blue Go To PostI'll be glad when he's gone too, what a fucking waste of space.
Lmao
By R436 Go To PostVery happy with the result yesterday. It is not easy to win at Wolves. To do it while scoring five goals is great.I've been really impressed with Chelsea. Even the loss to United was impressive in its own way - within 10 minutes in that game I saw a more defined style than I'd seen with the squad for years. Then obviously in the Super Cup you were the better team for the entire first half and probably should've scored more goals in that time.
Only caught the MOTD highlights, but Tammy's hat trick was great. Each goal displayed different attributes executed well, which is encouraging. His third goal especially was a treat. Happy for the lad as well, he's kicked on quite well since the Super Cup disappointment. Hopefully he can sustain it.
A lot of the focus was on the goals all coming from young English academy players - both yesterday and through the season thus far. It's a lovely feeling. The idea of Tomori - Mount - Abraham comprising a future Chelsea spine is a very attractive one. There's a lot of work to do before that is a reality, but I think that might be an ideal to strive for.
Defensive issues remain, though I think it was telling that we conceded after Rudi was subbed off. Him and AC with Kante ahead should shore things up. Hopefully they can get an extended run of games together. Kepa needs to sort his wrists out, it's such an odd issue for a keeper to have - though I think he was a tad unlucky with the own goal.
Lamps changing the formation to try and keep things tighter at the back was appreciated. Tactical flexibility is a godsend after the dogmatic approach from Sarri last season. I think we've deployed three formations thus far, and there's been decent stuff shown with all of them. Obviously we will need to settle on a standard set up, but I'm glad to see it all the same.
All in all, this is a a feel good win. With James and Hudson Odoi on the way back, hopefully we can keep the good feeling going. A win against Valencia and a draw to Liverpool would be a great return next week, in my eyes.
It's going to be really interesting to see if the performances level out into consistent results over the next few months, and in general how that fight between United, Chelsea and Arsenal goes over the next few months. United are solid, Chelsea are exciting, and Arsenal have the best attack out of the three so are always capable of getting a result.
At least Arsenal doesn't have the squad for it
we have Ramsey and Rabiot on the bench and Khedira and Matuidi on the pitch

Champions League is back lads. Kind of nervous for tomorrow. On paper the easiest game but there won't be any easy games. I expect Lille to be better than AEK Athens (the pot 4 club from last year).

On paper you guys start with the toughest game in the group I see. But so far Liverpool haven't shown any signs weakness this season. Will be an interesting test I suppose.
We also have PSV away on sunday, quite the week. Last two years we got our asses wooped in Eindhoven so I don't expect much.

By Flutter Go To PostJust watched the 2nd half of last night's game in its entirety.Arsenal fans, man
After seeing Joaquin scoring a penalty for Betis the other day I was on his Wikipedia page and it says he was breastfed until age 7. Thought I needed to pass this knowledge on.
Mad that he was at the 02 WC. Whipped in a lovely cross against South Korea.

Joaquin played his first La Liga match a year before Ansu Fati was born and now they were facing each other.

I've said it before, but I think Lampard deserves credit for getting the team singing to his hymn sheet so quickly. Even the best managers can struggle with that at first, but you're right - there's a sense of purpose that has been missing since the first Conte season.
Consistency is the key. We're in the relatively unique position that we have both a manager and a set of players who are learning on the job. Lampard is the managerial baby of the bunch in the top 6 - and perhaps the league as the whole. He's going to make mistakes, and I think in general it will be difficult to sustain momentum.
Thank God for football every night this week. Just found out that I'm going to stay from tomorrow to Friday on a island with less than 500 inhabitants and where there's very little to do at night.
By Hitch Go To PostYes we are, and yes it does.
What's your point?
edit: pls
You are right, there was no point other than me being salty, so I decided to remove it.

Just my usual shit about Liverpool fans.
It has begun. Juve going all out vs. ultras (and vice-versa, I presume). Things are gonna get worse before etc etc.

Man that sounds like the perfect getaway given there's internet signal so I can still listen to music. Walking around a near empty island with some good tunes and great weather, pretty perfect for a couple of days.

By Laboured Go To PostI had this announcement pegged for November or so, when we would be sitting comfortable at 8th, relatively close to #OleOUT but with pundits still talking about process and bounce backs.
Hopefully he can get his shit together this way.
