By J Ciaran Go To PostDefense: 18thI value the attack first. The defense can be fixed later just like Liverpool. United have been great in terms of goals conceded and we've sucked dick for the last 6 seasons.
Yeah that’s very true. A championship winning team will have a strong defensive spine, but it’s much harder to get a reliable goal-scoring attack. Better to build from the top down. Liverpool definitely have, I think Klopp started with Firmino and built out from there.
It's no surprise that Chelsea has better attacking players. Willian, Pedro, Giroud, Batshuayi may not be much, but are at least experienced enough for a top 4 challenge. They also have more experienced youths with Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount that have excelled in the championship.
United has Martial, Rashford, Pereira, Mata and Lingard. First 2 have potential but inconsistent, Mata's physicality has dropped and Lingard... who knows what's going on with him.
The youths that we have are largely inexperienced. There's a lot that has been said about Gomes, Greenwood and Chong, but the fact is all three came straight from the reserves to the first team. The amount of experience those three had compared to Abraham and Mount is miniscule.
It's going to be a tough season. Top 6 is possible, but that's all there is.
(not going into our recruitment since it's already been covered above)

By Flutter Go To PostThe best part is he had to add that her parents are Trump supporters.Lol, probably added that for sympathy points.
For fuck's sake. It was so passive aggressive that I can understand her decision.
It's not like our defense is that great either. I rate Lindelof, Tuanzebe and Maguire but considering we play with two CBs, we need a midfielder with a defensive mindset to help take some of the responsibility.
As it stands Matic is Matic, and I wont be surprised if he's the one leaking shit atm, while Fred, even the most promising of the two is still a huge question mark on how he will perform.

By Foot_Fungus Go To PostI'll be optimistic if we start Tierney, Holding, Bellened and bench Xhaka.Bellerin might be ready, but I wont be surprised if he keeps Tierney and Holding for Europa.
Im not sure why a win for United is even in the cards. Pogba is injured, and without him our chance creation might as well be non existent. Not to mention Shaw, Martial and possibly Rashford is out.
Ashley Young was alright in the last two matches, but he doesnt have it in him to play so many in a row. Add that with him having to cover Pepe and well...

Arsenal should have no fear going into tonight...but yeah it’s Arsenal :lol
Hopefully Emery decides to go with Torreira in midfield. Not sure if Bellerin (especially since he just played 90 mins 2 days ago) and Tierney are ready yet but obv I’d love to see them start.

Getting your defense right should always be a priority. You can win things 1-0ing teams

Not even that arsed about the match tonight.
Which is an odd feeling I don't think I've really had since the dreariest days under LVG. No expectations, just hoping I can sit back and watch Greenwood do some nice bits.

Do you guys reckon Solksjaer is actually a conservative manager who was just riding the crest of a wave for his first three months, or is the poor attacking play down to personnel and overly simplistic tactics as opposed to anything deliberate?
You could tell after about 3 games under Hodgson that there was no attacking plan beyond hoping that someone could pull a piece of magic out of their arse. That's largely why I felt pretty okay about Rodgers after his first few months, before we improved exponentially with the addition of Sturridge and Coutinho.

Not liking his body language while the team is on the pitch. We see Mourinho coming down, shouting instructions, reminding and motivating players for a reason. His substitution times and choices has improved, but still doesnt bring the impact we usually need (although to be fair, when you look at our bench it seems helpless at times).

It's a wide list of problems. I wont say it's even half of his fault because the rot is so much at the top that right now we are seeing the effect of having an egoistical, moron of a CEO who has failed to even improve even the most simplest of problems. He still think he has what it takes to buy players, even though it takes United a whole fucking month each to get Harry Maguire and AWB, when we didn't even have any competitors to ward away.
Scouting has been shit enough that Mourinho had his own people to work on it, and while we managed to get some really good players last transfer window, it's only due to Ole and Phelan working with former players and contacts for recommendations, etc.
Even if we get a DoF, it will come with a caveat that he wont be negotiating, even though it has proven to be downright disastrous for the current negotiating team.
By Hitch Go To PostDo you guys reckon Solksjaer is actually a conservative manager who was just riding the crest of a wave for his first three months, or is the poor attacking play down to personnel and overly simplistic tactics as opposed to anything deliberate? Its hard to say....When he came in he changed our system of play. From a low block/deep defense system to a more a attacking system; the fullbacks were pushed up the field, no more conservative passes, a lot more forward passes, the center backs been able to carry the ball forward, a high tempo game. Most matches against harder opposition saw us adapting to the opponent and achieving great results initially but apparently our fitness levels were awful and it all broke down. Preseason saw the introduction of a high pressing game in addition to all the aforementioned.

But here we are and I can't see none of that. Our football is bewildering. I don't know what we are doing out there anymore. There is a lot of work to be down. I can't tell if its the players, or the system or the coaching staff. Maybe its all of those and more. Anyway I am genuinely worried we won't make top six as we are.
