I'm surprised I saw so little hip firing in the reviews and previews, it feels like that's how you should be playing.
I like the preorder ps4 outfits.

By s y ngmi Go To Postforcing 1080p on ps4 pro seems to have cleared some of the performance issues.I guess you have that option to enable the PS4 Pro's extra power when playing 1080p games?
By Kibner Go To PostI guess you have that option to enable the PS4 Pro's extra power when playing 1080p games?I guess so. For example, with kingdom hearts 3, if you leave supersampling on, the game will hover around 30-40 fps with bad frame pacing. If you turn off supersampling at have the game run at native 1080p, the framepacing is corrected and the game runs at 50-60fps.
Game has some awful animations lol.
Jumping while using telekenesis literally has no animation, just the model sliding up.

Imagine hating on ray tracing.

By J Ciaran Go To Postno difficulty setting :( I kinda hate how I'm too good at shooters/reflex games. Is it better for the game to be too easy or too annoying if all they would have had time/money to do was increase enemy health and/or damage? I'm honestly curious.

I'm honestly curious.oh that would suck, I don't like this type of artificial difficulty. I prefer it when they make the AI more aggressive or something
nothing worse than bullet sponges
By s y ngmi Go To Postworst performance ive experienced all gen tbh
Highly cinematic. Isn't this what you console lot crave
By Smokey Go To PostHighly cinematic. Isn't this what you console lot craveThis might be the first game this gen I've played that hasn't been at least 30fps locked. At times, this some ps3/360 era shit
No but seriously, Remedy always aims higher than they should on consoles. That said, the time for new consoles was yesterday.
Looks like I'm going to be running it at 4K+1080p DLSS+RTX High+Max settings with the new Nvidia Sharpening feature applied. This should give 60-70fps based on what people at era are telling me, and the sharpening feature does wonders.

DLSS and sharpening together? 🤔

Does the game not have an internal resolution scaler? I’d imagine that plus sharpening would look and perform better without any potential artefacts caused by DLSS.

Yeah it does. There's been some back and forth with both in the era performance thread. There's like a 2 fps difference with DLSS and resolution scaling, and both end up looking about the same.
Looks like DF's analysis is coming on Thursday (at least for PC)
John from DF says the One X version runs (relatively) well
I might wait for Patch 1 before getting it. Interested in seeing what DF says. Game looks fun af.

By Flutter Go To PostHearing good things about the DLSS implementation in Control.
Yeah. One reason I wont mind using the 1080p DLSS option.
Game looks like it's the Crysis of modern PC gaming. Not a bad thing imo.
By Laboured Go To PostI don't see the huge difference but I am probably not the target for ray tracing
You need to see a scene with all 5 ray traced components happening at once.
It's impossible to bot see the difference.

DF keeps spouting useless info :-/
By J Ciaran Go To Postgame threatens to freeze each time a trophy pops up lolOr when you complete a mission.
Desired the performance, I'm enjoying it. It's basically infamous with telekenesis.

It’ll still run like shit in 10 years?
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostHave you spent an inordinate amount of money on pc parts that requires justification?
You can use ray tracing at 1080p with a 2060s, stop it.
By HottestVapes Go To PostIt’ll still run like shit in 10 years?
From a 4k60 RTX max perspective, yeah. It's not bad to have games like that . It's good for the platform to have one or two titles that are actively pushing tech built for tomorrow.
The issue is kids these days aren't used to that. Consoles are so underpowered they expect 144fps in every PC title.
One guy at era was co playing that control ran at 80fps or so with high settings and that was "shit" performance.
By Flutter Go To Postoh please, PC players have been turning off graphical settings to get the highest fps since Quake.
Tf does that have to do with what I said, smh. Clearly games like Crysis werent meant to run at bare minimum like a competitive fps, and neither is Control. But YES you could.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostHave you spent an inordinate amount of money on pc parts that requires justification?pressing F
but in all seriousness I can totally see the allure. I wouldn't bin a game for not running perfectly though
Control is already a visual treat so imagine running it on Smokey's rig, offff!
By Flutter Go To Postoh please, PC players have been turning off graphical settings to get the highest fps since Quake.
For competitive games like csgo and quake?`Sure. A singleplayer game like this? Miss me with low settings.

I knew you were a fellow man of fine taste. I'll play a single player game at 30FPS for max graphics/resolution if I have to, IDGAF.
2080ti/2700x 4k with dlss 1080p looks really great considering the low render resolution. All Max settings except volumetric lighting on med and all Ray tracing options on.
Pretty much a locked 60. Occasional drops to 57/58 in big rooms with lots of reflections and lighting/shadows.
And there we go. Gonna try and get a code on Ebay later today.
By Laboured Go To PostSorry game is bad now. It's like he's trying to tell us that Shenmue 3 is shit.
