By Arnie Go To PostFor someone who spends his Sunday afternoon’s meditating on the cosmic destiny of luck you’ve certainly changed your tune here.Origi, Lovren, Shaqiri, Moreno, Matip, Brewster, Lallana etc, aren't important members of Liverpool's squad, you can do better. But if not spending the required £50-100m it takes to upgrade some basic parts of the squad is more important to Liverpool than not winning the league then sure knock yourselves out.
Yes, you’re right, let’s spend £100m and piss off important members of the squad to literally, maybe get two more points.
By KP Go To PostMaybe?
Lol
Just a little bit of sarcasm in there lol

if citeh sign a couple more players they will turn into benfica manchester
shoulda gotten semedo before he went to barca innit
By sohois Go To Postany other season a team that got 97 points and basically kept things the same would be completely unremarkable. Liverpool shouldn't throw out their strategy to chase oil-fueled cheats.Zzzzz. Liverpool with a higher payroll than City, the Red Sox with the highest payroll in MLB. Liverpool owners who are personal friends with Trump. There is not much room for the high road when FSG are involved.

There is, occasionally, some pretty good posts from him. When they don't pertain to United at least. I don't think he's ever made a good post about United.

If you think winning the league is that simple then you’re deluded. United have spent the best part of £500m in five years and you look like a pub team. It’s not that simple.
By Flutter Go To Post'higher payroll'even putting aside those rather strange points, just looking at the club it doesn't change City's flagrant breaches of FFP year after year.

But if not spending the required £50-100m it takes to upgrade some basic parts of the squad is more important to Liverpool than not winning the league then sure knock yourselves out.I will say this -- I do understand this mindset. I'm a lifelong Dodgers fan and we've been very lucky in recent years to be Juve like.. won our division 6 years running, a certainty for 7. But we've lost the last two World Series and it's been over 30 years since the Dodgers won it.
We have some really amazing prospects who we could have traded away for a pitcher or two and we simply refused to do it because the asking price was too high across the board. And I honestly was super happy we didn't get rid of any of them even if it means losing another WS... which we probably will since the Astros (who beat us two years ago after we blew the series) went out and got one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Yeah 'i think outside the box' but i'm usually right it's just people don't want to hear the truth or Batman beats me in a fist fight which gets pretty annoying.
By sohois Go To Posteven putting aside those rather strange points, just looking at the club it doesn't change City's flagrant breaches of FFP year after year.FFP is a complete farce -- who gives a shit about it. Liverpool's owners give their fans zero room for moral high ground. Oh woe is me, City's owners are rich. FOH, Liverpool's are too and their club pays their players more than City does and they've had multiple transfers that cost more than City's highest transfer. It's an absurd statement for a Liverpool fan to make and it's tired.

Arnie mate I dont think your appreciating the psychology of sports and why very very few teams maintain the same performance level without changes to the team.
Oooh, something about United. Gotta laugh at the headline though.

first of all, I'm gonna go ahead and state that there is still a moral difference between generic American capitalist, and literal slavers and murderers.
yes, Liverpool do pay their players plenty, and have had large transfers. But they also can afford this because the club generates a lot of income, and because they have sold other players for large sums. At the same time, Liverpool are still clearly within the laws of the game, while City are clearly not.
Of course a city fan would say who gives a shit about FFP, but again I'm gonna state that all the other clubs that stick within the limits and don't ignore the rules probably do care

Liverpool are very lucky Mane/Salah/Firmino/Robertson missed so few games last season. Any extended absence for one or a combination of those players would expose what I think is (in parts) quite a thin squad that will play more games this season, and play more games with a higher weight of expectation.

Spending money doesn't guarantee success but it makes it significantly more likely.
Meier it’s not a good luck for a City fan to be laying into other teams for their ownership or what they spend.
Your owners have openly been caught describing the City project as a way of sports-washing favour for a regime that fragrantly abuses human rights, and your net spend is over £450m in the last four years alone.
You’re literally also under investigation for financial fraud.
These are all facts.

Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of Eriksen, but the Italian club had prioritised a bid to try to re-sign Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid, who have also been chasing Pogba, have Eriksen on their list of potential targets but have delayed making any move for the player while they try to convince Manchester United to sell.
Both clubs could make moves for Eriksen after Thursday, depending on what happens with Pogba, while Atletico have also been keeping an eye on Eriksen this summer and Inter coach Antonio Conte wants reinforcements.
By Kidjr Go To PostMeier dude I really like you and think you speak sense alot of the time but this is not the hill to die on.I just find it so tiring for Liverpool fans of all people to be whining constantly about spending when they spend a helluva lot too. They're not Burnley fans -- they can quit acting like there is some massive financial disparity. They certainly have no moral high ground to stand on when talking about anyone else's owners and the constant oil blah blah is so overwrought.
So we now live in a world where Maguire is the most expensive defender to have ever graced our sport. Incredible.

They certainly have no moral high ground to stand on when talking about anyone else's owners and the constant oil blah blah is so overwrought. You spend significantly more than we do because we generate our own finances through player sales, which doesn’t even account for our greater commercial revenue. Pointing out higher transfer fees in isolation is disingenuous and akin to Trump talking about his ratings. It’s false. The figures were posted the other day and your net spend over four years is over £350m higher than Liverpool’s.
In terms of ownership I’m not even going to go there as you know deep down that Abu Dhabi is on another level and one day, perhaps when they’ve left, you’ll be able to talk about that in a way which doesn’t reflect badly on City.
Arnie, we get it, now can we move forward and talk about Bold's generalisations instead.
