Man, just 11 years ago we were playing Bolton in the UEFA Cup. Sad to see a club like that end this way.
went to sleep yesterday at Barca 5-1. They won 5-2?
Another la liga title wrapped up while being a mid table team without messi.

By J Ciaran Go To Postdespite winning consecutive titles, we never looked as dominant as Barca in La Liga.
At least with La Liga I always feel like Real Madrid can pose a challenge. And every now and then Atleti. In Italy there's not a single club who can pose a threat to Juve. You have been dominating so hard and from matchday 1 it's clear you'll reclaim the title. 8 years running now?

That is not fair. A few years ago Juve started off terribly and had to go on an historic run to secure the title. Other teams have been good enough to win, but they have had their dramas that have affected them. The biggest key to Juve's domination has been the mismanagement of other teams.

Aside from a couple of seasons, it's always close till April or May with either Napoli or Roma. Inter usually start their seasons well till the winter break and then they collapse for one reason or another.
but in general most our games are gruelling since the lower half of the table is content with just defending with 10 men and the top 7 are really good teams who will always give 110% against us. So at least it isn't boring on weekly basis and we're made to work for it. I suspect this season will be one of our biggest tests since 2015, where we dropped a ridiculous amount of points in the opening games.

Always thought this too.

Juve made a lot of great recruitment and financial decisions while the rest just fell to the wayside.
It annoys me so much thinking about it, because it's like United looking at how Juve revitalised themselves to be the undisputed kings, we are looking at Inter instead.
years from now, I'd say the most impressive feat was how different our squads were. Like, aside from the defenders, we change everything. Lots of things could've gone wrong
last season everyone was playing well below their level, we were lucky we had Ronaldo.

7M€ + 500K in objectives + 15% of a future transfer. Bad deal but he definitely needed to go, wages were too high and we were playing better without him.
Luiz Phyllpe gives way more to the game and allows more space for our wingers and midfielders to appear.

In an immature United team, Lingard has been the oldest outfield starter in their three matches. Pundits routinely refer to him as a ‘young player’ and he is still occasionally bracketed with 'potential' when he celebrates his 27th birthday 10 days before Christmas.
sensational.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostA few years back, Milan and Roma were such perfect clubs for him. Now they are a mess.Especially Milan. What a state they’re in.
No disrespect to Man Utd Sla&ent, but I find it amazing how players like Young are still associated with the club. I genuinely believe these players will actually hinder any club in the EPL and Championship.
United are a club clinging to the values and mentality of a since-gone era, and Young is still a link to that, regardless of his shortcomings. I understand why they have him in the squad, I do not understand how he’s club captain and until this season a guaranteed starter.
A very good point on The Anfield Wrap. If we’d have bought the Joel Matip we’ve had since last December in a £60m January deal we’d all be saying it was an outrageously good signing. He’s been absolutely phenomenal.

you can always tell if a kid is special early on. They don't turn into great players with consistent game time, they just become more consistent and refined.
edit: the Sanchez loan is off if Martial's injury is serious

Terrible crack at Bolton because it really looked like it was just a matter of when they were taken over as opposed to Bury's if.
On the other hand they are genuinely ruining the integrity of the league by playing a team of naff teenagers and giving teams a free 3 points.
On the third hand (let's just pretend we're from Middlesbrough), this means no Boxing Day game at home :(

By Arnie Go To PostFelix will be the best player in the world, probably. He’s outrageous. Some great young players coming through.
Sancho, Felix and Mbappe the standouts at the moment. Mbappe needs to get himself out of the uber eats league though.
Joaoao was ridiculous. Granted it was a preseason game against a muddled lineup but I was still impressed
By rerixo Go To Postjoao obviously looks good but he aint mbappe level
^
lol
We've played 2 official games, same shit happened last year; combination of bad luck +injuries early on killed our chances of competing for the league by November.

By Cleff Go To PostDid Shanks ever admit he was wrong when he said Mbappe ain't shit?LOL
He's won it the same amount of times as Totti. Same amount of WC titles too.
How is it contentious in this day and age to say Mbop is one of the best generational talents in world football?

Shanks is persisting with this because he doesn’t want to admit he’s wrong lol smh. NBA-SLAENT hot takery
Did y’all kick out elsk? Where has he been lately.

No idea what Totti’s silverware has to do with anything.
Don’t think Mbappe has been anything special in the last two champions league seasons. I just feel he is a quick player who is able to exploit space well because of it and a solid finisher.

I always admit when I’m wrong. If you are gonna criticise me, then say it is because I don’t watch enough of him outside the CL rather than try to read my mind.
Nothing. Totti has nothing to do with anything, but that is where every conversation with shanksu goes so I thought I'd just get it out of the way.

i agree with this assessment. for now, he's good, but nowhere near world class good. abundance of pace, lack of technique.
he's very young, though, so we'll see, but he'll never be an aesthetic footballer.
Pretty sure Ole still has a better league record than Poch since he got appointed. Maybe they are closer now because that end of the season was dire.
The CL campaign really took a toll on Spurs, plus players like Son playing a million games the past year and injuries. But more than everything they look a bit mentally fatigued.
