Zero fluidity, zero solidity and zero control. Hard to believe this is a team coached by a man starting his third season. Looks like the opposite.
By Feorax Go To PostI didn’t realise just how important the CL was to Barca last year, but now I get it. They look a million miles away this year without Messi.Really feels like they're running out of time to win what they want to before he retires. Obviously it'll be impossible to replace him, but they are going to do a particularly poor job of it I think.

Season should just end today.
Seems scandalous to say it, but I wonder if it might be best for both parties if Messi finished his career elsewhere.
Messi deserves better than to spend his last years propping up an increasingly failing team that’s becoming more and more reliant on him, and Barca really need to start thinking of the future right now, and Messi being there is a crutch that’s got a limited lifespan.

how's de jong been in the first thirty minutes?
i've always felt both de jong and de ligt left too soon.
i've always felt both de jong and de ligt left too soon.
It's just you said that you were unsettled by the transfer window being open and maybe he was?
Why you try to get me to tell you something you know better than me. You have more information than me. You know very well and I told you in pre-season, before Aston Villa, after Aston Villa, positive result or negative result the group is still unsettled. We need to find solutions. We have one week more to wait and see what happens in the last 10 days.
I think this is my sixth season and the most unsettled group we are working with. That is why we are relaxed and calm. Some situations we cannot fix. Nothing to say about that, situations that are going on in the squad. Still we need to wait.
That is the circumstances after playing the Champions League on June 1, we knew that some situations like this would happen but for us and the club it's difficult to handle. What can we do? We can only wait. I say again, you have for sure more information than me about what's happening in the market and that's why I cannot do more than try to help the team find the best dynamic to train and not to create too many problems and be a person who is not being very emphatic, but understand every single situation and try to get a good result.
Do you think Christian might have played his last game for the club?
I don't know. I don't know. Why you ask me? Maybe you know something. It's so difficult, the situation. We cannot blame one party or another. That is the situation, the circumstances. We arrive today with different players and different situations in the squad but I don't want to justify our performance because of that. I want to make clear the point. When you play football and are on the pitch you don't think about these situations.
Of course the problem is during the week, when you arrive at the competition maybe it can affect but I think we should with a bit more today be winning. This type of stuff happens in the Premier League and that's why you not only need quality players, you need a very good dynamic, and strong team bond and at the moment that situation in our group is still far far away from what we expect.
By bud Go To Posthow's de jong been in the first thirty minutes?Barca boys are hyping him but he's really been nothing special.

Lenglet and Lindelof would the biggest soft boi CB partnership.

Griezmann already looking a little bit Coutinho’d.
Like he’s been picked up in the summer based off a transfer list the club drew up in 2016.

Obviously it'll be impossible to replace him, but they are going to do a particularly poor job of it I think.I remember when Messi was injured but neymar was available, that was one of the only times the team looked good for a stretch of games without GOAT. Otherwise, any time he hasn't played it's terrible displays, losses, shit wins, etc.
By Feorax Go To PostSeems scandalous to say it, but I wonder if it might be best for both parties if Messi finished his career elsewhere.Nah, football needs the romantic side of having such an incredible player being a one team man.

By Frustrated_me Go To PostBarca is mid-tier team (at best) without Messi.
Imagine losing 5-1 to Barca with no Messi and coached by Valverde
We really were shit today, our worst performance in a long time. It’s starting to feel like Poch wasn’t too far wrong when he said Tottenham don’t exist without Dembele, we play such clunky football now.
He has to build a new team that can actually dominate matches and disturb opponents, he has all the tools he could possibly want in the squad so there are no excuses for him.

Your teams shit m8, just because we've been shit doesnt mean otherwise.
Haven't spoken about the Chelsea result yesterday.
Happy for us to record the first win. Delighted for Tammy to get a brace - he was generally good yesterday, and the finishes were great. Mount looks like he's a natural part of the team already, which is good to see.
Defensive concerns remain of course. The two goals conceded were sloppy, and the ease with which Norwich were able to bypass the midfield was worrying. A better team will punish us more consistently if we continue to grant that much space. Rudiger and a fully fit Kante will help, but I'm not convinced it will plug all the holes.
Still, on to next weekend. A return of seven points from four games wouldn't be too shabby, given the circumstances.

On the whole, too early to judge but he's been fine

It's crazy that Messi has had only one world class manager during his career (Pep).
Rest are either mediocre or shit.

Hurts to see Frenkie out of position in a lost team and Matthijs on the bench. Meanwhile we're struggling to find a formation compensating for their absence.
