By Pennywise Go To PostNope. It also got public with Auba (or was it someone else?). Didn't understand it back then either. Makes even less sense with Sancho now, though. He's 19 and had a single good season, he's not gonna stop playing for us if he keeps the old salary. You might say it's fair he earns as much as he contributes but if he's gone next year anyway, why even bother? In US sports, the rookies don't earn the big money either. If Sancho wants the big money, well either leave or sign a new contract and stay one more year.
It's just a measure to lift his wages towards his actual performances.
He isn't the first player where this happened and he won't be the last, the difference is that it became public.
The numbers thrown around in the UK media are obviously bullshit.
Will leave next summer for a new record fee, unless the Brexit fucks some clubs harder than expected.
United also better get in a good position for negotiations, because no CL will make it alot harder and will cost alot more.
By kingkaiser Go To PostSancho staying at Dortmund for a third season is highly unlikely and the salary raise is just a preventive measure to avoid a second Dembele meltdown once Barfa or one of those sheikh clubs start to make their trademark move forcing players to go on strike.I honestly don't see how this would help at all? If he wants to force a move, he'll earn significantly more money there either way, so giving him a raise makes no difference. And as we've seen with Auba or Dembele, treating a player right doesn't mean much if he's an asshole and wants to force a move.
By n8 dogg Go To PostI will be surprised if Gomes manages to usurp Lingard and Mata any time soon, but at least Sanchez potentially leaving gives him more chances.Bit weird cos those 3 are fucking dreadful. Legit don't see how Gomes could possibly be worse. Even in your improved team-wide performances, Lingard has still stood out for being completely ineffective.

Why is Thom Yorke so good
Which reminds me
Ya'll should watch Guadagnino's Suspiria if you haven't. What a film.

Yorke's soundtrack is outstanding.
Fuckin hell man, we look like 10 times the team we were during that era. That Balotelli miss, dude must have been burning up inside at how many chances he spurned to restart his career. Dark days I never wish to return to.
I was looking at Balotelli's stats yesterday and was really surprised to be reminded that he played for Liverpool once. Crazy.
By Flutter Go To Postoh no, that would be bad
Oh dear, we wouldn’t want to inconvenience the sponsors over a trifling issue like racism.

So Nice is being taken over by some rich British Sir. And it looks like we are about to sell them Kasper Dolberg for 20 million. Considering he hasn't done much at all over the past two seasons that's a lot of money. Just too bad his potential never came trough at Ajax. I can still see him become a better player.
Really wish Overmars will buy one or two more players for us as well. We really need a good midfielder because Blind and Marin isn't working. Hopefully he'll take Davy Pröpper, Dani Olmo and Sander Berge into consideration. None of them would be cheap, but we desperately need immediate reinforcements.

By Hitch Go To PostAre PSV expected to challenge for the league again?
If they weren't the KNVB could just hand us the title already. PSV is realistically the only club batteling for the league with us. And I don't see that change any time soon unless some miracles start happening in Rotterdam.
PSV have a massive frontline this season with guys like Bergwijn, Bruma and Malen. Got some talents coming trough the ranks like Ihattaran and Gakpo. Lammers (currently injured) could be a great striker for them. They have lots of speed and individual talent there. They've been buying some defenders lately (namely Boscagli and Baumgartl) and Schwaab returned after a few months with the family. So yeah, they have a more than decent team. A team that is definitely better than 17 of the 18 teams in the league. Most people (including me) expect another two horse race because Ajax and PSV will win most of their games against the rest of the teams.
How have you coped so far with De Ligt and De Jong, or is it too early to tell? Interested to see if the star players from the CL run have a bit of a hangover season
I think we should manage without De Ligt just fine. It was nice to have a rocksolid defender cleaning up the mess but other than him the other defenders are still here. Hopefully Ten Hag will ultimately play Blind in the back again with our new signing Alvarez next to him. Fullbacks are still the same, so not much changing there. Midfield though is a mess right now. Frenkie can't be replaced one on one, he was an exceptional player and destined to become the best of his generation. Besides him Schöne left as well, meaning we have to replace two players in midfield, only van de Beek is still with us. And so far Ten Hag hasn't found the answer. He's trying Blind as a 6 and Marin next to him, basically the same system and style but with different players. And that's not working. Neither of those two have the calmth nor speed like Frenkie had causing a lot of trouble in midfield. We get completely overrun on the counter and our forward momentum is lacking as well with these two. Besides that, having Blind in midfield means we have a completely new CB pair, so it causes trouble in the back as well. What I hope for is that Blind will go back to CB. Probably next to Alvarez, the guy we bought. And we just need another midfielder I'm afraid, like I said a few posts above. But that will cost 20 to 25 million. But once the midfield puzzle is being solved I feel confident of the team growing into the season again. Our attack is still stacked after all with Tadic, Ziyech, Neres, Promes and Huntelaar. It's not realistic to expect us to do miracles in the CL again, but we should be gunning for another national double.

All I remember from him was the last minute tap-in against Spurs and the arguing over a penalty in some shitty Europa League match. Don't even recall him missing many chances, he was so shite at getting into anything resembling a goalscoring position. What a mess of a summer window that was.
Lambert, Markovic, Moreno, Balotelli, all terrible. Lovren and Lallana took ages to become half-decent. Can was basically okay from beginnning to end.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostRom been shooting his mouth off again.Babyshit, that lad.
Today could be a big day for the UEFA ranking for the Eredivisie. We got 3 clubs playing tonight which means we could get past Austria tonight. Which means the 11th spot, i.e. direct CL qualification for the league winner again. Given that the CL winner has already qualified trough their own league, which normally is the case.
