That's just 8 players, if Neymar were to join, over 150m. How is this happening? And this is AFTER taxes. They're near 1bn in debt (850~m) right now.
Frenkie making more money than Pique and Biscuits kind of surprises me. But yeah, these wages are out of control. Our highest paid player currently is Ziyech sitting at around 5 million. I knew we are small time when it comes to this, but damn.

As far as I know we have scouts in Denmark most of the time over the season. Other than a possible Donny replacement we're not really in the market for players anymore this window. Was there any more news to it than just scouts being present?

We used to have a salary cap at 1 million. But considering the money flow we now have we can afford to pay higher salaries to some of our players. Currently only Blind, Tadic and Ziyech are well ahead of 1 million. Couple of others are sitting between the 1 and 2 and the rest of the bunch are all below 1 million.
Was at a Danish wedding this past weekend and ended up at the same table as a Bröndby fan. That was interesting.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostNo. I'm asking how they're able to afford all that and reconciling FFP.Duh, FFP only applies to teams who aren't as established in European competitions and teams in eastern European countries who have no money.
Also, I just want Ronaldo back.
New thread title is good.
Have to say I'm also very happy that Overmars (and whoever else is making this possible) decided to work with higher salaries. As long as we can afford to pay our best players the same kind of salary they would get at clubs like Sevilla, Napoli and Benfica there's not much of a reason for them to leave. At least not as long as we can get steady CL football too. Ultimately we should try to keep our players around and only have them leave for the actual elite clubs in Europe. Only way to do that is offering a good salary.
By bud Go To Posti'm an old man nowI loved Longpigs back in the day but for some reason I've never really gotten into his solo stuff even though I always like it when I hear it. This is very good. Looks like the last time I listened to one of his solo songs was 2012 -- 2016 for Longpigs. The Sun Is Often Out is definitely one of the best albums of the 90s.

Re: Chelsea's goalscoring.
We didn't struggle for goals in pre-season but I think the reality is that we're relying on multiple players pitching in as opposed to having 2-3 players dominating the scoring. It's hard to see Abraham et al scoring 15+ goals in the league individually. Not impossible mind, still early days, but I think that's how it is.
I think Lampard is aware of this. His system didn't seem to be specifically targeting one outlet. On another day, any one of the front 5 + Emerson could have scored. Wayward passing and the posts put paid to that.
As for defending, we simply don't have that omnipresent defender in the vein of Van Djik, Kompany and Terry. Rudiger might be that man one day, but at the moment our stock is short. I imagine United fans were excited about Maguire's showing yesterday - there are signs he might be of that mould if all goes well.

By R436 Go To PostRe: Chelsea's goalscoring.Yeah. Technically, it's possible to have the others make the bulk of your goals. Think if this is to happen Lampard might as well play Giroud for his experience in holding the front line. Tammy needs more time.

how long is hudson odoi out for? chelsea could get a healthy amount of goals with a front three of pulisic-giroud-hudson odoi. i still think batshuayi is solid too
the squad in general is strong, i'd put rudiger as one of the best cbs in the league. problem is lampard is horse shit

Your head of scouting was there, with a regular scout as well. Rumors of Jonas Wind, but he is not for sale right now.

Oh when I checked the Copenhagen score last game (or the one before?) I saw he scored twice. Considering Dolberg is more and more becoming dead wood I can see why we're looking for a striker. Other than Huntelaar and Dolberg we have no natural number 9 currently good enough for the first team. I think we'll slowly start bringing Traoré (plays with the reserves) and Brobby (U19/reserves player) this season though.
Transfermarket values him at 1,75 million, that's pocket change really. If we bring serious money you think Copenhagen will stand in the way?
EDIT
Apparently they were also looking at Frederik Winther. Any good?

Winther is a talent, but pretty hard to judge him tbh. The press here says you also looked at wind though. I don't see him go for anything less than 15m euros right now tbh. Way too important. But next season a gentleman agreement will probably be made, to not stand in his way for anything around 10 mil.

Looked up some videos, he looks pretty technical for such a tall guy. Bit clumsy though, but he seems to be aware of what he's doing.
Can definitely be interesting for next season. He won't get any game time this year considering our attack is STACKED. But I expect at least Neres to leave next year. And possibly Ziyech. Which means Tadic could go back to the flanks (or even as a 10 depending on the rest) to make room for a proper striker. Will keep an eye on the lad for the coming season.
