Arsenal didn't even play with their best players today so it's not fair to make a comparison. Chelsea didn't start with Kante and Pulisic either.
United was lucky to have most of their players for pre season.

Not sure how we won this.
OK, Chelsea's misses, their terrible defensive spine and hooking Barkley so early is how, but still very worrying performance.

By Arnie Go To PostDon’t think you looked very good today tbh. But then you had a few starters on the bench.most of our starting xi wasnt playing, but most importantly once we scored we controlled the game pretty well away from home, something we have struggled with inmensely for years now
No doubt United fans have reason to be pleased, but Chelsea were about as obliging as I’ve ever seen them in a PL game. Flampard has his work cut out for him for sure.
Weird because in the first half it looked like only one team had been coached and knew what they were doing, just missing a little quality
Good result, that.
Very misleading, really. On another day, Abraham’s early chance goes in; so does Emerson’s. Wolves is going to be a massive test next week: an experienced manager who knows his best team, who sets up on the counter, who has an outstanding midfield and two very dangerous strikers. They are going to be a far better indicator of where we are as a team, and I can see us losing.
But really happy with AWB, Lindelof and Maguire today. Had absolutely no midfield cover and dealt with it really well. Delighted for James, too.
Lampard will be alright. Get Giroud, Rudiger, Kante and Pulisic/CHO in that side and they win that. Well coached enough in the time he’s been there.

Oh yeah we're 100% losing to Wolves still. They're going to be so, so up for it and if we play a midfield like today we're not going to cope.
By Xpike Go To PostUnited laying down a marker today. They look like the team to beat this season and they didn't play garbage like west ham or norwich. Going to be a tight race for 2nd place.no
Defence looked good but the gaps in our right side going forward and an actual dm kinda exposes them to far more pressure than they should be, what id give to have someone who can take it out the back and not fanny around with it losing the ball half the time.
bless AWB
bless Slabhead
bless 2nd half Pogba
bless Ole's halftime adjustments. 2nd half was lockdown
bless the left post and the crossbar
bless Rashford for having a first touch
Wolves getting the pipe next.

Wolves would've creamed us for the lazy missed passes in midfield we made today, but they also won't be pressing like Chelsea did so it'll be a different set of tasks altogether. Much to improve upon but I'm not going to complain.
Both sides need a lot of work. ManU has zero cohesion//structure hard to see how they can improve on that. And Chelsea need to sort out their defensive plan, maybe rudiger/kante will help out Frank in that part, but also in need of extra quality (youngsters did not look ready yet for top epl)
We looked so much better in that 2nd half when the team sat deeper and closed those gaps in midfield. Chelsea had a struggle to play through the middle there after, and we looked deadly on the counter.
#AM9 looked good as the ST too. Held the ball up well at times and want goals like the ones he scored today.
Lindelof, Maguire looks to be e decent partnership. Finally two who can play on the ball.

More worried about the left side tbh. Shaw just looks braindead again.
AWB and Maguire did good, especially the latter with no real preseason with our squad. Happy for James.

You know with United it could go either way. We were shit, but some good breaks let to the players to play with more confidence and we actually managed to stitch passes together.
As of now I would say Lampard is the better manager for having his team play so well from the start, but with United I think if they had a bit more confidence and belief they can be proper scary.
Also by not putting Pereira on the right.

By Hitch Go To PostImagine how much shit a foreign manager would get for that Barkley sub.that was criminal
By Cleff Go To PostMaguire named motm.Damn right he should be.
Maguire and Bissaka are two very big improvements from United in defense, and could save a lot of points. But I think they are way too one dimensional going forward still, which I know sound weird coming after this result, but it really wasnt working at all until Zoumas brain fart. But you certainly got all the qualities for quick attacks, when the opponent allows it.
By Fergie Go To PostAnyway. They always show up against top teams.
Wolves away next week… Hopefully, Jota keeps up the finishing he showed today. 👀
Maybe what Wolves needs to do is install a few fake scouts in every match to boost their performances.

Yeah, you’re right. We’re very much set up to play on the counter. Mata and Pogba are the only ones in the entire squad capable of controlling tempo.
I really dont see how we deal with a team that sits back, unless we go plan B Fellaini/Maguire route

We’ll find out on Monday when we lose 3-1!
Anyway, let’s not pretend we’re the only team who looked super open. Liverpool could have let in a few more on Friday, and even City had a couple of hairy moments early on.
What i’m saying is brighton are going to win the premier league.

It's still a problem that confidence is lacking from the start. Would be killer in some games.
That's been something plaguing United since.... LVG?

United just beat the Europa League champions 4-0 & i see the negativity here is through the roof, never change Slaent. United are going for top 4 & maybe a cup win, you can't compare them to elite teams.
