By KingGondo Go To PostHey IWMTB: Glossip has been granted a stay of execution for 2 weeks.
It's something.
Yeah, that's nice at least.
IWMTB. I joined the banned club with you.

I think I have a mod who actively doesn't like my posting habits. The last ban I got was for weak shit like that too. Both times I was told I was being a "jerk". Like who the hell uses 'jerk" in a non-ironic way? Has to be the same mod.
ON Topic: Jindal just pivoted the question about the clock boy by bringing up Kim Davis. He truly is a shitty human being.

I hope Fox is taking notes. This is an actual debate and the moderators aren't trying to be the stars

Every ban I've gotten (other than my troll thread ban) has had the mod tell me I was banned for being a jerk.
By reilo Go To PostOh, hello Opiate.
Maybe, but Opiate and I occasionally joke and send PM's about baseball and shit. We used to play a bit of Diablo together. He's actually the only person on that site who I know by first name and not just a username. I feel like he would extend more of an explanation that just, you're being a Jerk. Then again it's anonymous so I could totally be wrong.
This gif of Pataki is gold

Why do these media folks keep trying to take out Trump with thinly-veiled gotcha questions? He will fail on his own when he tries to answer policy questions
By cloudy Go To PostWhy do these media folks keep trying to take out Trump with thinly-veiled gotcha questions? He will fail on his own when he tries to answer policy questions
Saying this is ignoring everything about trump and his support.
How many f—ing Jews do these people think there are in the United States?
From Ann "I'm literally a Nazi" Coulter.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostFrom Ann "I'm literally a Nazi" Coulter. How many times has she compared someone to a Nazi and made a fool of herself? I feel like this time if someone called her a Nazi they would be right. The irony.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostFrom Ann "I'm literally a Nazi" Coulter.
They're not pandering to Jewish America when making comments on Israel. They're pandering to people who believe in the rapture.
She does personify the "trump supporter" quite well
Conservatives hate Jewish people. Let's not kid ourselves. This is just another example of being against anything Obama is for.
By Fenderputty Go To PostThey're not pandering to Jewish America when making comments on Israel. They're pandering to people who believe in the rapture.

Trump supporters are the people that were too stupid to understand coded racial appeals and missed the old days so it's not surprising that Coulter misunderstands the Israel pandering.
The obsession with "safety" in conservative circles right now is legit alarming. How in the world is America being threatened right now? We've had two Americans killed by ISIS in these last two years... zero foreign attacks... I... I seriously don't understand. Why does Jeb! rant about safety and how we need more spying and how Obama has made America unsafe?
By Dissonance Go To PostFed leaving interest rates unchanged.Kinda thought they would for a little while longer. Inflation is still really low.

By Sanjuro Go To PostIs this the Donald Trump thread, Forever?Yeah, so, I'm curious. What, hypothetically, would it take for you to not vote Donald Trump? I gather that some of your support stems directly from the fact that he offends people, and that you like seeing liberals get uncomfortable (ignoring the fact that most of us would love for him to be nominated) but are we talking about unconditional support at this point?

Umm...I don't think Trump has my unconditional support whatsoever.
I do think he is absolutely entertaining and brought incredible interest to these republican debates. He is like their LeVar Burton!
By Sanjuro Go To PostUmm…I don't think Trump has my unconditional support whatsoever.Didn't you say you'd vote for him even if he did rape his wife? Or are your posts on the other site just trolling?

No idea what you are talking about. Only thing I can even imagine is something incredibly out of context and/or sarcastic.

Your post doesn't suggest anything I made in my post, nor does that article confirm he is a rapist.
The narrative there is confusing.
By Sanjuro Go To PostYour post doesn't suggest anything I made in my post, nor does that article confirm he is a rapist.Okay so I'm going to walk back my assumptions. How do you actually feel about Trump's policy positions?

Wait. You chased me across forums, across threads, into here to talk to me about Trump?! Just ask what you really have on your mind. "Sanjuro, are you in fact…Donald Trump?"
I dunno. I agree with him on some things, disagree on other things. Kind of surprised he is still this relevant. Kind of surprised that Jeb! got the boost despite being a mess last night. Not kind of surprised Rand Paul came across sane, but was ultimately discarded because he is in fact Rand Paul.
By Sanjuro Go To PostWait. You chased me across forums, across threads, into here to talk to me about Trump?! Just ask what you really have on your mind. "Sanjuro, are you in fact…Donald Trump?"It wasn't as difficult as all that.
I've never actually spoken with a real live Donald Trump supporter. The polls say there are millions of them but they're hard to find where I live and I'm not about to make a FreeRepublic account. Honestly? I'm a little fascinated.
By Sanjuro Go To PostI dunno. I agree with him on some things, disagree on other things. At risk of sounding like an inquisitor, would you mind getting into specifics?
I wouldn't actively consider myself a supporter of anything when the election is over a year away.
Specifics? I dunno. Immigration?
We need to get serious on illegal immigrants. - Sure.
We need to keep up and monitor VISA status. - Sounds good.
We need to prohibit illegal's children from obtaining automatic citizenship. - Alright. Probably need to do some things on that, but I get you.
We need to build a wall. - Umm..if it's feasible knock yourself out. Canada?
We need to kick all illegals out at once. - Sounds awful.
Those are just gut reactions while listening to crazy right wing nonsense for three hours straight. No clear ramifications/benefits/plan/time tables, and no opposition bringing up other points. None of them are opinions that I would take to my grave.

You've mentioned more than once how excited you are about Trump and the way liberals are reacting to him so I suppose I jumped to conclusions. I guess I still haven't found the real thing.
Well, yeah. I live near some of the most insane liberals on the planet. They were/are fearing Trump to be like some sort of destroyer of worlds.
I feel like the only one out of the turtles and splinter that would vote for trump is Raph so your avatar makes sense here.
By Fenderputty Go To PostI feel like the only one out of the turtles and splinter that would vote for trump is Raph so your avatar makes sense here.
I'm not sure it's Raphael. I used it as an avatar briefly years ago, and this forum rejected all my other ones when I went to upload.
By Fenderputty Go To PostRaphael wore red, mang.
They all wore red in the comics. A lot of fan art reflects that.

Only the US has "liberals". Most of the rest of the world has social democrats / socialists / communists / labor parties.
By Gabyskra Go To PostOnly the US has "liberals". Most of the rest of the world has social democrats / socialists / communists / labor parties.
Sure. I'm just going by what they refer to themselves as, and also specifically the US.
By Sanjuro Go To PostSure. I'm just going by what they refer to themselves as.The history of the word is very interesting. Used to mean a free-market ideologue, then phases of being more of a pejorative notion, then a proud identifier, etc.
By Gabyskra Go To PostThe history of the word is very interesting. Used to mean a free-market ideologue, then phases of being more of a pejorative notion, then a proud identifier, etc.
That's why I prefer not to label myself. Seems like an easy method to remove most critical thinking.
By Gabyskra Go To PostThe history of the word is very interesting. Used to mean a free-market ideologue, then phases of being more of a pejorative notion, then a proud identifier, etc.It used to be used by conservative Republicans in the United States until FDR co-opted it. Republicans have been working hard to turn it into a bad word ever since, so now "Progressives" is becoming the new popular label of the left.
We all know what it refers to anyway.
By Forever Go To PostIt used to be used by conservative Republicans in the United States until FDR co-opted it.
Not conservative Republicans, but actually the people who called themselves progressives back then already. Teddy Roosevelt and Wilson for instance. Schlesinger Jr is the usual read on the subject.
Altho Schlesinger's history of liberal notions in the US is not a history of identity, it's less about what people called themselves, but how principles changed application in contexts
