I mean, our style of play is building up from the back and you couldn't make us happier if we even have a goalie that can do more than keep the ball out of the net. They always have some sense of football and passing in them. Then you go to a big club in Italy with some of the best defenders in front of you and they panick when you play the game you're used to. That's incredible.
It's the same with our fullbacks by the way. If you play that position at Ajax just being a good defender is not good enough. Hell, if the way you push forward is good enough it doesn't even matter much that you lack a bit in defending. We've played our whole CL campaign with Mazraoui on the right, the dude is basically a midfielder turned into fullback. We can be weird sometimes I guess. Also the reason why a guy like Magallan is barely working for us in central defense. He's an absolute beast in defending but he can't properly pass a ball and build up the attack. And unlike Davison Sanchez for example he doesn't seem to improve in that at all.

I suppose his time at every other club that was not Juventus probably debunks the eyesight theory too. Sometimes players just don't work out for no apparent reason. Seedorf for example was a legend for several clubs. But every game for our national team was just absolute dogshit. There was no logic to that at all.
