Conte just said that Ivan Perisic is not part of his plans either ahahah
By FortuneFaded Go To PostI thought it would be “I didn’t touch her”as a fellow celebrity he knows its not safe being famous in Vegas so no need
Just watched our friendly. I genuinely believe that Intra were worse than the Perth Glory U15 side we played the other day.
By Willkiller Go To PostEvery year. Every year people actually put stock into teams’ pre-season performances
This is the pre-season leading up to our domestic double and CL semi final. Pre-season is a fun time for the manager, but no point in reading too much into the results.

Exactly!
The entire purpose of preaseason is to get fitness levels up. That’s it. That’s literally it.
Well that and for the manager to puzzle his way into the new season. Was happy to see some youth players getting minutes in the pre-season. Thaught us that Dest and Schuurs are definitely further than I intially thought. Some how we've been winning all our pre-season games this year as well, so that's a nice bonus.
Our pre season has been a bit shit, I am starting to think it's not going to be worth staying up until 2 in the morning to watch us get destroyed by Liverpool on Wednesday.
By Cleff Go To PostI thought they were trying to sign Carroll for £35m for a second.

Unless you enjoy destruction that is.

If he can finally put his injury problems behind him, Carroll would be an excellent signing for almost any club outside of the top six, but his fitness problems at West Ham have put off other teams. No he wouldn't.
Mad name, Joelinton.
By Laboured Go To PostJust watched our friendly. I genuinely believe that Intra were worse than the Perth Glory U15 side we played the other day. They were in full defensive mode. There's good and the bad in our performance
Good: Pressing, passing has greatly improved
Bad: Defending against corners is shit. Defending against crosses is shit. Defending in the middle is shit.
Two weeks until football is back. August 3rd seems extremely early, even for lower league but I don't care. Give it to me.
By Cleff Go To PostI remember when Liverpool bought this boy
Truly sad times
But they disregarded brexit signings and are champions of europe now
By n8 dogg Go To PostIt’s not about the results. It’s about seeing us press and try to change our game.Pretty much. The new system we're playing is yielding encouraging results. But we still look shaky at the back. Need big improvement there.
Antonio Conte on Ivan Perisic: "You cannot change the characteristics of a player. The sensations I get are negative, so I don't think he can give the team what it needs."
lol okay but why is he saying this to the press

By J Ciaran Go To PostFucking inferno. I'm starting to believe the rumors that this kind of attitude is why we want to get rid of him.
that's probably why we want him gone
or maybe he's just waiting for City. Either way, terrible.
He was so fucking good up until december. :(
By Cleff Go To PostThey'd be better off getting Welbz on a free.
De Gea’s lack of ambition is really disappointing for a keeper of his calibre. He’s never going to be remembered as one of the greats.
DDG going to be getting the Ozil treatment in 18 months when the new manager needs a proactive keeper. When Favre replaces Blanc next summer.
I think United will have big problems trying to play a more modern brand of football with a goalkeeper like De Gea. He doesn’t like to pass the ball or leave his line. You can’t play a high press with someone like him.
De Gea is the most ambitious - he's trying to revive a dead Manchester United.
He's been here for 9 years - this contract will take it to 15years if he stays till the end. He'll go down as one of the PL and United greats.

Bit harsh. None of the CL contenders really need him imo.
Hey Horse, I googled that word but I don’t watch anime. Mind explaining?🌚
One league title, not sure that gets him ‘PL great’ status.

You can’t play a high press with someone like him.His passing isn't that bad. He pinged out some decent passes to AWB today to get us going, but if you compare him to Ederson or Allison then sure he's not as good. Not bad enough to cripple our style of play though. His leaving the line will be more of an issue, but something he'll need to add to his game.
imo - in the past our main issue with playing out the back was with the CBs. Lindelof is fine on the ball, but needs a better partner. Tuanzebe is decent on the ball so hopefully that's the partnership we see unless we sign a Maguire.
The higher pressing change is nice to see too and in a sense it was good to see the players giving away soft fouls higher up so we could re-group when the initial press didn't work. City are the best at it by far and their players rarely get penalised.

Olay is probably thinking once I get some #young #hungry players with #potential we can do this whole pressing thing
"Chris, Phil, run to the corner flag and David will pass it yer"
*corner kick*

Hey cool, he’ll have won as many league titles as Joe Hart then!
but will he pass his clean sheet percentage?
6 years for De Gea is crazy
On his part because there's no guarantee whatsoever that Man Utd will exit this slump anytime soon. On their part because there's no guarantee that last season was a one-off, and he's massively reliant on goalkeeping attributes that decline with age.
