The La Liga club have given PSG a list of six players that could be included in the deal, including Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic, Nelson Semedo, and Malcom.
By J Ciaran Go To PostNew signings are fine, but what's more exciting is the technical revolution that Paratici and Nedved (with Agnelli's benediction) have started.
Zabo I like it I dunno
close the death note, turn de lights off, enough.
We're about to morph into a different beast. Remains to be seen how long it will take Sarri to instill his idea of football, but the stories I've been hearing about the first week of training have filled me with a substantial dose of confidence. Apparently things didn't start off well. The team was having difficulties following and putting into practice the tactical / positional drills Sarri and his assistants had come up with and Maurizio was growing frustrated. He talked to Nedved, who reassured him, and had a long talk with the squad. The next day things took a 180° turn for the better during training, to the point that Sarri was heard saying "were they just fucking with us until now?" to his collaborators.
I've no doubts that our players will fully buy into Sarri's football philosophy, unlike how I imagine things went at Chelsea. Doesn't mean shit as far as results go, but if things go south it won't be because of player woes or the immense burocratic / managerial apparatus surrounding Sarri.
He's in a botte di ferro at Juve.
By Cleff Go To PostObv not a Liverpool fan, but sort of objective coz United won't be within a million miles of challenging for the title even if we sign a good CB. I can't see Liverpool winning the title if they don't strengthen the starting 11. City's biggest weakness last season was lack of cover for Fernandinho. The signing of Rodri changes that completely. He's by all accounts a midfielder if the highest calibre.Liverpool have an unmatched first XI at this point, as per usual its the lack of strength after that that is the weakness. Short of the likes of Messi, who could even improve the first XI at Liverpool?

Think there are better players to be had in all three of your CM positions and at least one at CB too unless you are 100% certain Gomez will end up both world class and injury free. And if we're being ultra critical I think there is better out there than Firmino. You'd have to spend a lot to get them of course.

It's more so that City have probably improved their team and Liverpool haven't. You haven't many weak spots at all.

maybe the old guy is actually Randy.

Hey everybody, we’re all gonna get laid!
By Flutter Go To PostCouts, Dembele & €90m would be insane for an injury prone nutcase.
feels like looking at squad improvements is the wrong way to go about it, it'll come down to who can keep their players motivated
Dembele is only 22 ffs. Invest in him and you'll have a brilliant player for a decade. Sure Neymar is only 27, but he's picking up more and more injuries. You might get 4 or 5 more good years from him at most.
Barcelona are fucking terrible at this.

He already cost us the Europa last season, we really can't rely on him as a starter.

Neymar is levels above Dembele. The type of player they need to lower reliance on Messi.
By Laboured Go To PostYes if he weren't Brazilian.Listen, I'm counting on Neymar being vein enough to think he could be world player of the year in the next couple of seasons.
If he's not, he'll do an Anderson and be obese in 12 months time.

Not to mention he has Messi keeping him in check.

By Linius Go To PostStill a fan of Fargo, great season I'd say. Probably won't have missed it with all the hype, but When They See Us is pretty great. Some smaller series I really enjoyed were Afterlife and Russian Doll a while back. And not sure if it's in your region, but Final Space is a really good animated series. Oh and if you don't mind German, How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) as well.Wait, they haven't dubbed the thing?
Lmao.

By Flutter Go To PostDembele will never be as good as Neymar, and has quite the disciplinary problem. At least with Neymar, you have a gamechanger.Maybe he won't be as good as Neymar at his very best, bit I don't think the Neymar Barcelona are potentially signing is as good as the one they had a few years ago. But Dembele could give them up to a decade of great service. It would be foolish to let him go just because he had an underwhelming season. Young players will have those.
Not to mention he has Messi keeping him in check.
On the Messi thing. He's the greatest player to ever take to the field. There can be no doubt about that. But he's old now in footballers standards. Signing Neymar may give Barca a one or two season boost. But that's all it will be. They'd be better off keeping Dembele and having him mesh with Messi and Griezmann.
By Cleff Go To PostWhat Laboured said.Have they though? Rodri is a replacement for an aging Fernandinho, not necessarily an improvement by any means. It's basically the same issue Liverpool have where almost any improvement on the first team would require plucking the best players from the best teams in the world. Maybe Kante would be better than Fabinho or Kane an improvement on Firmino, maybe City could put Alaba at LB. But realistically no team can stockpile so much talent, even the cheats.

When Liverpool look at City, they won't see a superior first XI, they'll see that they can't bring on the likes of Mahrez or Jesus.

I think City's first 11 edges ours, but it's tough to see where the suitable signings are who will definitely improve it the way Alisson and Fabinho did
So then you're looking at spending £60m+ for depth options up top, which I don't blame us for baulking at, even though I generally believe that you should reinforce regardless of success

It's hard to say that Liverpool not doing any major transfers isn't looking to improve, they are most likely looking in.
Klopp has done really well in bleeding in youths into the team, and they have some really good prospects that can come into rotation.

He's the best covering midfielder in the league and City suffered when he wasn't in the side, which happened a few times. With Rodri that isn't a problem because he's a very good player. There may or may not be a dip. Bit it won't be much.

Oh they probably did, didn't check. But I'd never recommend anyone to watch a dubbed version of anything. It's still weird to me that they dub every damn thing in Spain, Italy, France and Germany. Over here we only dub kids movies because reading is still a bit hard for them.

Main issue for me is you want someone who would legitimately push MFS for their place, both as depth and to keep complacency at bay.
Yeah, complacency is the problem. It's why Fergie always look to move some players out to keep everyone on their toes.
Think City got a bit more weaker than last season. Getting Rodri is good, but losing Kompany and his influence at the back, and in the locker room can be the problem.
Stones hasn't really improved largely as a CB. Still some dumb mistakes, and we saw how Tottenham took advantage of Laporte's ball control.

By the way. I just want everyone to know that Perr Schuurs (remember the name) is really stepping up his game this pre-season. That's the guy we bought last season to ultimately replace De Ligt. He's 5 months younger than De Ligt and obviously not the same amount of talent. But I fully believe he's gonna get quite some minutes this season.
Perr Schuurs lads. The future is in front of us.
