By Linius Go To PostBut being proud of our players going to the biggest clubs in Europe for a decent fee is nothing weird. If anything, it's us being realistic. Financially we will never close the gap. There is no way to keep our talented players longer in the Eredivisie. Apart from the money our league just isn't that attractive. If we were a country with 80 million people like you guys things would be a lot different. But this is just the harsh reality we have to deal with. So yes, I rather see us taking pride in selling our youth products to big clubs than anything else. This is pretty much it. Ajax were brilliant last season in the CL but it's not like they are getting the TV or sponsor money that can get them close to the big boys, probably ever.
Rory McIlroy playing the first Open in his home country in over 60 years on the golf course where he grew up and learnt his trade just hit a quadruple bogey 8 off the first hole. Wanker

(then he came back and was absolutely dog shit for us as well, and got sent off twice in one season. yikes)

He gets to sit next Ten Hag these days. Poulsen is a good man.

The bus is clearly PR and brand exposure for the club. It got written about in the international press everywhere. That's just modern football for you.

That will never happen indeed. We're a small country with 17 million people. And outside of our borders only the top 3 will generate some international viewers. That's not much of a business model. We fully depend on CL money and big transfers.
Poulsen is a J legend simply because he was on the recieving end of a Totti loogie
and by convincing us to sign him over Alonso

Yeah, the way Ajax operates is pretty darn impressive. I hope it works out for them, but in the meantime give us Ziyech for €30m. Please.
Good headline by Tuttoshit this morning. Milan, a summer of no. Torreira, Ceballos, Sensi, Kabak and Vereotut. While we managed to sign Krunic and Theo Hernandez, our fourth LB in the squad as of today and he even cost €20m. I have no idea what Maldini and Boban are doing, must be some kind of 6D chess.

By Laboured Go To PostI am so very mystified by the lack of interest in Ziyech.Have you ever heard of him before last season? Exactly.

By Zabojnik Go To PostHave you ever heard of him before last season? Exactly.
I had, but it's not like having one good season causing a mad rush for a player is unprecedented.
By Linius Go To PostYou'll have to see that bit about Ziyech in context though. Let me say upfront, I don't like that he advertised Ziyech like that. But you'll have to take in account that Ajax already agreed to make a transfer possible last summer if the right club comes along. For a fair transfer fee that is, we weren't gonna ask much more than he's worth because he stayed another season at the club for that promise. Then journalists start asking him if there's any news about Ziyech currently, everyone expects him to leave after all. To which Overmars says it's surprisingly quiet and then he says the Arsenal bit. It was weird seeing him so vocal about selling Ziyech, could have done without that extra sentence. But in the grand scheme of things it's not that bad. For now it looks like he's even staying by the way. No club to his liking has come by yet, so that's nice. Would be my favourite transfer news of the summer if he doesn't leave.Oh okay, didn't know that. Still, Overmars could have handled that a lot better. Doesn't make a good impression.

Well, I understand that of course. I don't want to compare situations with Dortmund, we're in a position where we can keep players a bit longer. But if I think back to ter Stegen to Barca or Khedira to Madrid, those are similar. And of course everyone at Gladbach and Stuttgart was proud that their player went to those clubs but they didn't communicate it as publicly/outgoingly as Ajax. But yeah, like I said, if everyone at Ajax is fine with it, good for you guys.

I'm not saying late bloomers aren't a thing in football, but they are few and far between. In any case, there's still plenty of time.
Is setting yourself as a Sunday League footballer basically hard mode for FM19?
Started a St Pauli save. Only lost 1 of my first 5 and the players hate me already. I can never remember it making that much difference before but the players have had the face on about it since day one.

I would love to keep Ziyech under the radar, he's just perfect for our team. And I'm sure he can be great for other clubs too, just not the actual European top. And it seems that he only wants to leave us for those kind of clubs. So that's in our favour for now.
By Cleff Go To PostGoing for that tidepod eating, juul smoking market.loooool listen, I like where this is going, but to pretend that he isn't here because we're best suited to develop him at this moment of his career is some galaxy brain fuckery.

We've a solid sporting project to back that up too, unlike his other shambolic suitors.

I got a protein bar that is specifically supposed to be gentle on the stomach and everything, yet I’m generating enough gas to power a mid-sized metropolis.

I reckon the problem with Ziyech is just that his general role in the team is oversaturated across Europe; there are dozens of technically skilled, versatile AMs for top teams to choose from. If he's not interested in playing for a Sevilla or a Leicester, then there is just a ton of competition. Tottenham can't even sell Eriksen

Maybe it's just the Ajax DNA then. Either way, I'm fine with the situation as is.
