really wish i pulled the trigger on that Pogba jersey back then
all love

I haven't lost faith in Emery (yet) but the combination of lack of transfers, instability, and general malaise at Arsenal leaves me quite apathetic.
Hard to transfer #muppet over a player like Saliba considering he won't be joining for a season - and we desperately need (quality) CBs.
Last season was particularly trying and I haven't seen anything to suggest change.
If anything, it could get worse.

By Laboured Go To PostTop of the league cigars. At this rate, in a year or two United's deal will be worth 100M£ a year.
The really interesting thing about these Coutinho rumours is that normally with something like this, the press pack are quick to shut it down if they get word from the club that it’s bullshit, especially if it’s something that could be quite obviously be used for clicks. The fact that we’ve had nothing but speculation from journalists close to the club suggests to me there might actually be something in this.
if
big if
we actually get 2 out of Tierney, Ceballos and Everton
I would consider this transfer window a success and hopes for Top 4

By Cleff Go To PostTaylor is the best football journalist out there imo. Big get for The Athletic.Looking forward to reading the articles on Reddit.
Issue is with the top 4 race really is that two clubs will be deemed to have failed every year, which is a shame I suppose. Nice to see that Arsenal didn’t panic button Emery, and I think we’d keep Ole around if we finish 5th or 6th (unless the football is dire and the players hate him). Wonder if Lampard gets a bit of a long leash this season too.
By Punished Go To PostLooking forward to reading the articles on Reddit. You can usually find deals for it for $30/year or thereabouts (base price is $60/year). I assume they'll have some nice ones when these football writers go live there. If there is a nice 50% off deal like they've been doing quite often, that'd be less than £25 a year. Not bad given that there are no ads on the site and it has a mobile app and some other nice features.
By Laboured Go To PostWait… wtf? It's real?Saw a tweet that showed it wasn't allowed by the FA. I suspect they'll probably wear it for the preseason alone -- I know City have a really goofy sponsor addition to the back of the shirt right now and they've done stuff like that before during the preseason. A little extra cash.

Probably so.
If the atlantic get Liew, its OVER. Although I know that my favs are him, Taylor, Ronay and Hyde, and its probably no coinkeydink they write for free sites
I don't tend to read colour pieces that often. It's nice to read some good writing on something at times but it also feels like, yeah I know man I watched it.
Eh; same reason I read film reviews of films I’ve watched. Sometimes better writers can articulate what I cannot, or help me see things from a different perspective. Or sometimes they’re just super entertaining. Good writing is good writing. Marina Hyde has been literally the only good thing about the United Kingdom since the Leave campaign fuckin’ started their bollocks

Ive been happy with Ole this preseason thus far. Making the right transfers, the right preseason training, having the team play exciting football. Of course, think him keeping Pogba is still a problem. Even against Leeds you can see him making some dumb decisions, and that's against a championship side, and in a friendly.
Not to mention he could be out of his depth come the new season, and his substitutions had been uninspired and too late in the game in the last few matches last season.
By far our best manager off pitch since Fergie. Still a big question mark on pitch.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostAm I the only one who doesn’t give a shit about football journalists?
No, most of them are completely shit and the majority embarass themselves every transfer window.

I wasn't going to post it but it seems after last summers hilarity of posting our players' appalling rondos in training, the club has this summer been posting our rondos and tbf they not nearly as embarrassing lol.
By Laboured Go To PostI don't tend to read colour pieces that often. It's nice to read some good writing on something at times but it also feels like, yeah I know man I watched it.It looks like their main goal is to get the big breaking news guys as much as it is the prose guys. The reality is though that a lot of the stuff will still be tweeted out so I doubt you'll "need" it to get scoops from Ornstein, Lee, etc. Taylor and the like will still do podcasts and all that too undoubtedly.
Most of them are shit, absolutely #remembercraigsainsbury. Same with most journalists and critics to be honest; the majority are just reporting news in very dull fashion, and some like Jamie Jackson literally write articles where 85% of it is made up of quotes. Cunt is stealing a living.
But there’s a few - the ones I mentioned, or film reviewers like Ebert or Kael, or nowadays Walter Chaw - who are just real fuckin’ entertaining writers who happen to be writing about shit I like. I like reading. I like football. If I can combine the two, perfick.
Kevin Mitchell for the Guardian is good too, writes tennis and boxing shiznit.

Im sure the club made it a point to post those rondos for that reason, as much as Im sure journalists were using that rondo vid last season to show how terrible training was with Jose.
It has been nicely drama free at the moment. There's that issue with players not liking the focus on fitness but I dont think they know how fucking terrible they are fitness wise.
Our fitness is so fuckin’ important this season. Dickheads played in a Mou low block so often that they couldn’t handle more than 10 games pressing. Everyone was gassed by March.
By J Ciaran Go To Postwho cares about where journalists go if you follow them on twitter lol
Suppose it’s about monopolising, I guess, e.g. ‘who cares if disney own fox, i get x-men either way’.
Differences, obviously; but if one place has all the best writers, they get to charge more, they weaken the quality of free-to-read journalism...
Doesn’t seem to be the place for writers to learn their craft, either; they just go and poach after other papers develop the writers. Shit they’re like a PL club.
By n8 dogg Go To PostSuppose it’s about monopolising, I guess, e.g. ‘who cares if disney own fox, i get x-men either way’.To be fair, they snagged tons of big name writers in America over the past two years as well and the price has remained the same at $60/a year. I re-upped my sub with an insane deal of 76% off on July 4th.. I was probably gonna resubscribe if I could find it for $30 again but that sold me. $14.50 for a year, no-brainer.

We'll see how it all shakes out. The market is very different in the US I think.. a lot of sports fans are used to paying for more in-depth coverage. College sports fans (myself included) are used to paying $10 a month for specialty sites and ESPN has had stuff behind an added paywall for at least 10-15 years. I imagine this is mostly at the expense of magazines like Sports Illustrated -- most people probably don't bother to subscribe any more. ESPN is closing down ESPN The Magazine in a few months time.
