I remember when players complained of Moyes running the team to the ground. Thing is, Klopp, Pep, Conte, Poch, etc... all do it too. If our players are complaining they're just a bunch of pussies.
The chip ban is still one of the most stupid complaints I've ever heard
Find an alternative and shut the fuck up
The difference between a top team's running stats and Man Utd's is like having an extra player

Have United signed their Pogba replacement yet? I get why United would ideally want to sign the replacement player before leaking the Pogba deal is happening... But man, hurry it up already.

Man, forget about Delight. If Paratici can get rid of Higuain, Khedira, Matuidi and Mandzukic in one mercato window ... that's the real masterpiece right there. Shit will require some proper voodoo magic to get done.
I think Khedira might be the easiest to dispose of. Mutual contract termination, doesn't strike me as the type to put his foot down. MLS the most probable destination. 2 years on his contract still tho, so if he's not ready for that american life ... there might be trouble.
Higuain could go either way. Apparently Juve have let him know in no uncertain terms that they're not counting on him for next season. He and his agent brother might sulk a bit, especially since Roma, while very interested, likely aren't going to break the bank to sign him. Paratici & co. will probably try to grease the whole situation by lowering Juve's demands as far as still within reason. Maybe a loan with obligation to buy at a heavily discounted price and a jus primae noctis on Zaniolo. Could be a quick one or complicated as fuck.
Matuidi and Mandzukic are somewhat more appetizing for potential buyers, but they'll also require a whole lot of convincing. Madzukic might be the easier of the two, since it feels like he's reached the natural conclusion of his Juve adventure. However, knowing him he'll no doubt demand a club where he's considered a starter, which might rule out the likes of Dortmund. He strikes me as someone who'd accept an EL-tier club at this point of his career, but he won't be playing for peanuts. His salary demands might see the whole thing collapse. Definitely not a China or USA candidate.
Matuidi is the least likely to go. He has a year left on his contract and will definitey want to see it out. He's also the kind of player that you can always count on, so we might decide to keep him even if doesn't fit Sarri's idea of a midfielder.
My guess is two stay, two leave. Three, if the stars align.

The fact that they are impressed with Daniel James, a Championship player is telling.

There is that story where he tried to setup the same training as he did with Everton, so once during preseason he got the whole team to the beach for fitness training.
It had to be cut short because unlike with Everton, everyone knew who the players were and flocked towards them.
By ATTICUS H Go To PostEnough with this wrist-cutting shit. Our best midfielder, striker, centre back and goalkeeper all want to leave.
There is always hope.
Whilst De Gea and Lindelof can probably be convinced to stay we have a huge problem with Lukaku and Pogba. We'd be better off shifting them out now I reckon. But nothings happened on that front, which is stopping us from signing players for their positions.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira, Juve have offered €67m for De Ligt but Ajax are not budging on their demands of €75m up front.
However, Schira expects the Bianconeri to increase their bid ‘in the next few hours’ so they can close a deal ‘this week’.
it was worth a try
With Lindelof there's not really a sign that he wants to leave, just that Barca wants him. Still safe on that for the time being. De Gea is staying.
Pogba is still a question mark at this point, due to the amount we demand. Lukaku would do great in Italy, dont think there's anyone who doesnt feel that he doesnt suit the team.
Problem remains the people who are showing no signs of leaving; Martial, Chuckle bros and Sanchez.

I think Lukaku will get done. Inter seem serious enough.
Pogba is a huge question mark just because it doesn't seem that any club is being serious enough in their approaches re our valuation. And I suspect if they let it run to 8 August 2019 then we'll just say their chance has gone since we can't reinvest the money past that date.
And yeah, Lindelof isn't going anywhere this summer. And if he really pushed I'd not even be hugely concerned if we sold him tbqh.

By Laboured Go To PostI think Lukaku will get done. Inter seem serious enough. This is exactly how I see it. Lukaku I actually want him to get sold. Pogba I doubt any of the clubs in for him are serious enough to pay what we want but if they are then then have to pay it asap. Lindelof had a better season than all of our centerback but he can be sold if need be and we will get someone else simple.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned Juventus and Inter that his club ‘don’t have to sell’ Paul Pogba or Romelu Lukaku.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has been pulling out all the stops to take the midfielder away from United, while an official video appeared to snap Victor Lindelof restraining the Frenchman after an exchange with teammate Jesse Lingard.
However, Solskjaer said at a Press conference: “Jesse and Paul yesterday walking around was portrayed as a fight between the two boys and I know you’re here to sell players and stories but they’re all professional.
“Paul’s never put himself out of the team, always given his best and I can’t report anything other than that agents talk all the time.
“I can’t be sitting here talking about Paul and what agents are saying, we’ve got a few years left of his contract and he’s been fantastic.”
While the 26-year-old has been linked with a return to Juve, Inter officials are expected in the UK this week as they look to thrash out a deal for Lukaku…
“As far as I am aware, we don’t have any bids for our players. We’re Manchester United, we don’t have to sell and don’t have to overpay.
“You have to have the right players at the right price and if you look at the squad we’ve got now there are so many good players.”

Trophies have no impact on muppetry bruv. I said halfway through last season that I'd be happy with an uneventful summer window, and I am, but that doesn't mean it isn't a bit dull.

Do release clauses in England work the same way they do (can?) in Spain, where the buying club basically gives the player the money to buy themselves out of their contract?
Thinking about it, I can barely remember any players moving from one English club to another through a release clause

Barca and Madrid's finances seem like houses of cards glued together by authorities that won't let them come under the scrutiny and parameters that they should.

it's mandatory in Spain
Ah, thought they were the same thing. Isn't Messi's like £2bn? Seems a bit silly for them to be mandatory these days, feel like the market still hasn't settled at all after the Neymar move. Then again, Griezmann and Rodri's prices seem to be about right in that context so maybe they've got to grips with it.
By Hitch Go To PostAh, thought they were the same thing. Isn't Messi's like £2bnyeah since it's mandatory they usually set them obscenely high lol
release clauses can have certain conditions drafted in them to make them even more difficult. You could play with the value too, as De Ligt's release clause will increase on annual basis and you can add something like 'everyone but Napoli' etc
We sold the useless Kenan kodro to Bilbao in January for about 1 mill euros. Absolutely shit even in the Danish league. His release clause ended up being 80 mil.
see Hitch that's another example of a very specific release clause lol
Higuan's had to be paid in two installments. ADL learned better after that one and started drafting ones that excluded Italian clubs from triggering them.

I don't mind us not going after Alderweireld. We're actively moving away from signing players in their late 20's or early 30's. Which can only be a good thing.
But come back to me if it's two weeks before the window closes and we still haven't signed a CB.

PSG, Barca, City needs defenders but it doesn't look like there's even interest from them.
Alderweireld is:
+ Better than any of our defenders in every conceivable sense.
+ Very cheap in this market. Like, absolutely stunningly so.
- Likely to want very high wages.
- The wrong side of 30.

Toby still had a few good years in him. And can actually play football unlike Jones and Smalling. A partnership of him and Lindelof would allow us to actually play out from defence. He'd be a good fit at United. At least for a few seasons.
his age shouldn't be a factor given his fee and your absolutely desperate situation I feel.
also the obsession with signings being young is odd, they will lack much needed experience, besides should you really be worrying about their market value? I mean, since you supposedly shit gold. You don't have to make a profit selling everyone
if he's good and is going to lend a hand for a couple of seasons then it should be a galaxy no brainer. That's the way I look at signings anyway, young or old. I'm too used to our revolving door policy by now
