By Can Crusher Go To PostEverybody in Portugal (Benfica land) is shouting from the rooftops that João Félix was sold to At Madrid for an astounding 120 million. Somebody please tell me this shit is a joke. Not entirely official yet but he was spotted in Madrid last night and the rumor is he's done his medical already. Incredible really given how inexperienced he is, but he does look a prodigious talent.
I look forward to continuing to hear from Tebas about Man City somehow being a scourge on the transfer market as La Liga teams continue to dominate the biggest transfer fees list.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostImagine getting Hazard for less than João Felix. I highly doubt Félix will work well at Atlético but we will see.
Well one had a year left of his contract
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostWell one had a year left of his contractAnd the other doesn't even have a full season of "top" flight football.

True, but he is also only 19. Lots of resale value there, while very little on Hazard. But you gotta pay what you gotta pay I guess, if it's their top priority. It's not like they wouldn't have taken Hazard for less, if they could have.

But you're right that Real and Barça operate in their own world.
By Laboured Go To PostPeople really underestimating how much the difference in wages has an impact.I am sure Felix will still get a very handsome figure although certainly less than Griezmann's. They're obviously going to have a net positive from the Rodri to Llorente transfer fee difference as well although I imagine Llorente's salary will be significantly higher than Rodri's was given where he's coming from. I didn't realize they only signed him from Villarreal last summer.. not a bad profit for one season (€25m to 70m).

There's simply no way At Madrid gets their money's worth. The kid is talented but is another product of the typical hype machine in Portugal that loves to prop up any Benfica player with an inch of potential.
What exactly are they expecting from him? His value can only drop after this first sale, insane.

If we sell axel i give up
See Garry Monk sacked again. He must be a tosser because he keeps doing good jobs on the face of things and getting sacked for it.

The kid is talented but is another product of the typical hype machine in Portugal that loves to prop up any Benfica player with an inch of potential. You've basically only got Madrid, Barca and PSG who will consider paying more than his fee so their opportunity cost is extremely high. By all accounts he isn't a striker (yet) as well so it's a lot of pressure to put on a kid to prove his worth. There's not a lot of €100m+ transfers to compare to, but in recent years the failure rate has been incredibly high (Coutinho, Dembele) relative to the expectation so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

Always thought he had the potential to be better than Ibe and Wilson. Think this is a bad move, especially since Ejaria had a bad experience up there. Similar laid back style.

If he flops, Atlético will sell him to Wolves or something.

By Laboured Go To PostMaking out like you do not wish for football to come home. We will remember this.
M8, I made it come home already. Although you'll have to wait a bit.
Thanks to this absolute beast
Look at that, WC golden boot runner up, WC best player, Balloon Door same year. Oof.

nobdoy is getting sold for 120 million €, shut up
it's your typical patetico - benfica- mendes deal
mendes isn't even the footballer's agent but he gets a fee for whatever reason, patetico will probably pay around 60 million in 3/5 tranches and mendes and benfica's president will split some money amongst themselves by buying a bunch of unwanted mendes players
Benfica the club will see about 30 or 40 million € from the whole thing
shit, we're still waiting for the 2 players that patetico was gonna send us for the simão sabrosa deal
I don't think we're getting them, it's been over 10 years

Bought Felix in my FIFA 19 career in the same transfer window we’re in now. No hype at all, got him for a cheeky 30 million. His status really turned around fast in real life.

Hart's tattoo looks like a necrotic infection
Steve Walsh's name should be poison after the mess he made of Everton
Enjoying the new Zonal Marking book. Normally find most football writer and tactics people to be boring.

More rumours about the Glazers looking to sell albeit for an astronomical price.
Some agents have said we're generally doing a one in one out policy unless the player is a Big Player.

Definitely a fair decision. It's weird that the guy who got fouled is 23 and playing. I think it's based on the age at the time of qualifying starting but it still seems a little unfair.
