How has no one linked the van Gaal interview yet? Sensational stuff
Says some great stuff about United’s current setup too.

You haven’t mentioned Wayne Rooney. Was he too old by then?
I’m sorry but he was over the hill. But in spite of that he was one of my best players.

By Vini.lad Go To PostIncredible how any single decent player is priced at at least 80m for UnitedUnited and Arsenal will have problems strengthening this summer albeit from different angles. United have so much money they get quoted hyper inflated prices. Arsenal have no money so they can't afford proven quality.
Having seen bits and pieces of Man City twitter over the last few days, I’m not having anyone who thinks winning something makes our fans unbearable.

He's right about many things, but he also massively contributed to all the shit we are still swimming under.

Eh, bullshit interview. Much like Moyes.
Defended himself, when he played our best creative midfielder in the first season as a striker, made Rooney undroppable, bought Rojo because he was impressed with him in the World Cup, had Schneiderlin play a bit role when it could have freed our creative players to make more chances, etc.

Like Maddison as a player but have heard a few stories of him being quite a prat :lol
and it's Castles, so no need to discuss it anyway.

Yeah, but you are also a horse
By Cleff Go To PostThis is the structure United should be copying. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like we are.
If you got it right, you probably have the resources to improve on it too.
By ATTICUS H Go To PostLike Maddison as a player but have heard a few stories of him being quite a prat :lolGuy is a dickhead but he is a pretty good source for transfer news, to be fair. He's nailed a few things related to our moves in recent years, so we generally at least pay him some mind.

By Feorax Go To PostIf you got it right, you probably have the resources to improve on it too.Maybe, but our biggest problem is Ed Woodward. There's a passage in Delaney's article that is very relevant to United.
There was first of all the move to – and gradual evolution of – the most advanced player recruitment approach, that also involved the promotion of Michael Edwards to director of football. This saw a series of genuinely enlightened signings, from Roberto Firmino to Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
We don't have such a player recruitment system in place. And any DoF we bring in is ultimately a figurehead and the real power behind it is the CEO. He's the guy that's made most of the big money flop signings. He's also the guy who vetoes his managers targets. We're fucked.
I think Woodward is a shite football CEO but think Mou's choices were the only one he veto'ed? In every other case it's on the manager's fault for choosing the players, or they themselves veto-ing some good ones (Moyes with his insistence in having a say on every transfer and trying to get hard to get players, and LVG with veto-ing Kroos. KROOS.)
He's to be blamed for picking 'superstar' managers though. Rather than trying to build a modern football management system we had to follow the whims of Moyes, LVG and Mou, with two of those adverse to a DOF.
As much as I think Ole could be out of his depth, and I think he made a big mistake in talking about players needed to be replaced at such an important time of the season, at least he has Woodward and Glazer's ear about what needs to be done.
God knows what would have happened if we had a less passive manager on board. Everything would probably burst into flames by now.

I think what Moyes and LVG are getting at is that Woowar has misrepresented what kind of targets he is actually capable of getting.
Moyes has always said he was promised Bale, Cesc, Ronaldo and who knows who else. And he was stupid enough to believe Woodward could actually deliver. Similarly, LVG was "promised" other players, presumably Muller or Lewa and he is now complaining he didn't get the players he wanted.

It was a clusterfuck from every point. From scouting, transfer issues, managers, CEO...
Now Old Trafford is showing literal cracks. What a time.

Basically means you’re getting Danny Ings for free.
Rabiot will be interesting.
I'm not sure how I feel. There's a part of me that hopes he realised he's damaged goods and is working towards trying to change his fortune and gives his best for us.
Then a part of me realises this is probably what Star Citizen funders feel about Chris Roberts.

after kante and vardy im amazed there arent more people scouting to see if they can find a star player in playing in bulgarias 3rd division or something
definitely would be something to consider if your club has a 40m transfer budget

From reports it says that they're following Emery and Sanilehi's scouting way by talking to agents for recommendations, or something like it.
Anyway I dont really think we will get De Ligt
but at least having fun with that is better than thinking about getting a good defender in need of surgery or Maguire.
