By Willkiller Go To PostBut your first 10 games are absolutely piss easy?Will pls, what response are you expecting from this?
Non-English fans must think we're a right bunch of mugs having a 20-team league, two domestic cups and no winter break. Wonder which team has played the most games in a season. With cup replays and runs, super cups, two-legged League Cup semis and the like you could probably hit 70.
I think for a Dutch club the absolute maximum number of games would be 60.
34 league games, 19 CL games (including 6 for qualifying), 6 cup games and a Dutch super cup = 60
34 league games, 13 CL games, 6 cup games, Dutch super cup, European super cup and two world cup for clubs games = 57
These are the maxed out scenarios. With an extra domestic cup and already more league games I can see how terrible a maxed out season could be for English clubs :lol

By Willkiller Go To PostBut your first 10 games are absolutely piss easy?No top team has a harder opening two games than playing against Chelsea followed by Wolves away.
United will be bringing in a lot of new players & with so many changes it's easier to play against lesser teams first before building up to bigger teams than just being thrown in at the deep end against tough opposition.
And more importantly than any of that, instead of having a mix of hard home & away games at the end of the season United will have to play almost all of their hard fixtures away when there will be fixture pile ups & they'll have to do more travelling during this time which is a big disadvantage.

no breaks is good, we tried it in Italy for one season but they scrapped it lol. Softttt
I know I've posted it before but this has to be one of my favourite moments in football. There is no more tragic a figure than Roberto Soldado.

By Hitch Go To PostI was absolutely certain that Soldado would smash it at SpursMe too Hitch, me too.
He scored so many penalties at the start, and everyone was saying he was in dangerous positions all the time, and that he'd come good soon
Thank god Kane decided to go beast mode
By Hitch Go To PostI was absolutely certain that Soldado would smash it at Spursthat Spanish gen of strikers turned out to be trash lol I remember when it was either him or Llorente (Negredo joined City) and we supposedly ended up with the lesser player
Think something like £70m+add ons is the lowest we'd be able to get him for. Which is insane. But I'd still probably go for it because
a) not my fuckin money
b) he's got a gigantic head
c) he frequently gets that gigantic head on the end of balls into the box
d) probably gonna get a good chant out of him
e) i'm chris smalling
f) and i'm phil jones

By Laboured Go To PostArsenal and loans, name a better duo.
£80m is a grossly inflated price, but if Maguire is who we want we should pay it regardless. It's money that needs to be spent anyway looking at who we have at CB. The fact Jones and Smalling are still at United is incredible.
My friend reckon that Maguire could have gone for £50 million but that the normal English tax for English talent has been applied here and the extra 30 million can be recouped by the infamous shirt sales that usually applies to English players 🤔
By Scum Go To PostBoris, lads.
By Laboured Go To PostSeems like a good deal to me, he can go out on loan for a few years and then come back to provide competition for Leno.
Another season without a 1st matchday win
I might be wrong here but I believe, since the Emirates (Banter) Era, we've only won like 2-3 times on the first matchday
RIP

In spain bars pay about 300 euros a month (a month!) for a La Liga subscription.
Tebas has lost the plot.
I don't know what is crazier, this monthy subscription cost or La Liga using phone mics to spy on which bar is using illegal streams.

RDT, Bale, James, Keylor and even Cabellos are all great gets for whichever club gets them.
RDT > Morata
The Vinicius, Rodrygo (more polished Vinicius is what I'm hearing, Pele please confirm), Brahim and Odegaard future is gonna be exciting to follow. So far it's looking promising with 3 of the 4 performing well.
Reminder that Woody balked at Maguire for £65m last season, but don't worry lads I'm sure he'll put another cheeky bid in for De Ligt any time now.
Top 4 teams all away for the second half feels rough, but it all depends on how full our calendar is with the other competitions. I expect not very.

Only 8 weeks until the real League One is back, lads. And Sunderland cancelled my season card without warning me despite saying they sent me multiple ones. Guessing my scribbling was not readable on the payment form but who won't let you do that shit online in 2019?
Sunderland.
Sunderland.
By Wahabipapangus Go To Posti love how fat and happy benzema looks
By Vini.lad Go To PostYes Rodrygo is as good as Vinicius.Ohh baby.
Maguire is good, but I'm expecting City to pick him up while our transfer committee waits for a word from De Ligt.
And then he's going to be a rock for them next season and you'll have people saying "wow Pep coached the hell out of him" when he has been that way for Lester for the past 2 seasons.

There's a lot of delusion amongst a certain section of United's online fan base. The kind that thinks Maguire isn't a better defender than Smalling, Jones or Rojo and that we should only be looking to sign world class, or potentially world class players. I don't think they realise how far we've fallen behind the rest.

Out of all the /r/reddevils muppetry only 3 ITKs are looking to be very solid. I like spoofex. He admits it when he's wrong, he knows he's just someone who knows people than trying to position himself in the ITK spotlight. He and another user, Jroades267 work with each other to verify the info they get from their sources too.
Here's some of what spoofex has posted about our management. I'm going to leave player transfers out of it since it's pretty much what everyone already heard anyway.
The rumor is that Nicky Butt is priming himself to take the technical director spot, and would be very positively received by many if he does. Also this on Nicky Butt;
on why there were rumblings about Darren Fletcher and Rio as technical directors;
Simon Jackson has talked about about that today in a podcast. There's also some stuff about why some journalists stopped being reliable for news around the club but I dont think anyone's interested.

Ole gave Woodward a list of names he wants gone during his final "interview" for the job when he was made permanent. The list was apparently massive and Woodward and he eventually agreed to narrow it down over the course of 2-3 years to avoid having too many in's and out's all this summer whilst they try to be a bit smarter about things. This would explain why Young, Smalling and Jones were given new deals, as they will simply be let go when their deals conclude (the feeling is they're not going to be worth much in a transfer fee, so replace them one-by-one every year in a more fluid and logical manner).
The rumor is that Nicky Butt is priming himself to take the technical director spot, and would be very positively received by many if he does. Also this on Nicky Butt;
Nicky Butt is going to be getting a massive youth academy budget over the next 3 years to start snapping up young talent from around the country. Brexit (or lack of knowing what Brexit will actually look like ) is causing him a bit of concern as the rules on young player transfers is a minefield already, but not being able to look into signing EU Youth Players can potentially be quite harmful to us. He is also going to sit on the Transfer Committee as a "we already have a guy ready to go" sort of seat, which is good to hear to be honest.
on why there were rumblings about Darren Fletcher and Rio as technical directors;
Is Fletcher working for the club already?
Yes, but not in the way we initially thought. He (and Rio) are working as "consultants" at the moment. They're basically being asked for thoughts and opinions on what they would see changed if they could. Fletcher in particular has taken a shot at the coaching staff saying that the lack the approachability compared to that of previous staff teams is why the players don't work for them. He's not told me what Rio is up to (the guy isn't too heavily involved in marketing so if it's related to that number 5 thing we hear about on here, he probably has no reason to know).
