The entire MCU is also littered with bunch of actors that are capable of bringing the stonefaced performance when appropriate but also be supreme wisecrackers with great comedic timing.
Brie's acting just doesn't have any of that.
It's not too hard to ask to have more charisma than Groot.

In her defence the writing in her own film sucked ass, and they didn't give a great deal to work with, SLJ had to more heavy lifting than necessary.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI think people would dislike her a lot less if Gal Gadot wasn't such a great WW and if Black Panther wasn't so great. Bar jumped up kinda high and what not for those types of leadsAbsolutely
the brie thing is basically just a targeted alt right smear -- you won't see anything about it sans obscure yahoo paid for ads and trash youtube content

I feel like there's gotta be a place where we can genuinely not like somebody's acting and on-screen presence without being lumped into alt-right trash that does it for other reasons.
If Jared Leto can get shit then so can Brie. They'll be alright.

I hated Eisenburg's Lex not all men lol. Some people extra as fuck but let's be real she sucks more than OG Thor
i dont like her movie that much but i aint pretending people saying Disney bought tickets and that they should delete her from the movie is okay
tbf brie larson doesn't help her own case with how often she says things that make publicists cringe.
I thought she was just okay in Captain Marvel. Nothing spectacular in the role but nothing that stood out as overly bad either.
Also my only exposure to her as a person and as an actor is in said film, and some pictures that leaked online a while back 👀

Gal Gadot chilling tho
This is like BF5 all over again. Yes, there are some hateful ppl out there but don't let that distract you from the fact the product sucks. Thor is good now so anything is possible I guess.

Her cameo was Valkyrie level. There wasn't enough there to even says she sucked at it. The mktg made a big deal for a couple of scenes that made no difference and that's on them.
I found her perfectly fine in her own movie. Bigger problem was the movie missing a third act imo. Character suffered a bit because it was similar to Hawkeye in Avengers 1, where the brunt of the scenes is about an identity crisis, but I did like her in the role and think it will come together further into her story. Carol in the comics is a wet blanket and her best attribute is being an alcoholic asshole. Movie Carol is a breath of fresh air compared to that.
I also don't think WW is all that. Mid tier Marvel movie at best. I do like some directorial touches like making WW connect with humans, shake hands with people, talk about her hopes and wishes, but Chris carried her movie. I don't find her that charming in the role tbh, but the feminist message was that much stronger and made for a better first chapter. Kudos to Patty for all of that.

People prefer WW because she is a naive woman with not much knowledge of the world untill a man showed her and bedded her. Only when she loses him can unlock her God power.
Cap Marvel had a decent twist, but as a tent pole for representation it doesn't match Black Panther or WW, both those films handle their subject matters with far more nuance and depth.
I guess today is the last for imax showings so why not, recovering from a dental thing so I’m going.

I think the problem with her in Endgame is they filmed her cameo before her actual movie. It kinda feels like the Russos played it safe with her direction because they had no idea what that movie's director would do or if any major rewrite of her character would happen.
Finally watched it last night. It was good but I expected it to be a bit better. There's too much happening and some of the subplots didn't seem to have been given enough time to "breathe".
The final battle was epic though.

Think I've decided the final battle was the thing I disliked the most about the movie. Just messy and not very interesting at all.
Well lafttp but what a fuckin mess. Holy shit. I need to time travel and get 3 hours of my life back. Just tell my past self. You hate 95% of films with time travel as the center of a plot. The ending, and many point in between l, will make no fucking sense.
My favourite film of the year so far, or certainly the most entertaining cinema experience I've had.
Watched it last night
Feel like it just didn't have any momentum, it was like a two-act movie. Recovering the stones was just far less interesting than it was when Thanos was getting them in the first place.
Like Fender I've never been a fan of time travel as a core theme either, that's on me though I guess because time fuckery was the only way people were ever going to be undusted so I should have expected it to be at least half the film.
Did people come back 5 years older btw? Peter Parker seemed to pick up where he left off at school.
Poor implementation of Captain Marvel, assume she's more interesting in her own film? Was a bit 'what if we had Superwoman and she just turned up for a minute at a time when needed, and didn't get any lines to make her seem like part of the team?'
I really, really liked IW and reckon it did an exceptional job of not buckling under the weight of how many characters were in it and the location-jumping. Just couldn't get invested in any of the characters this time around, maybe because prominence was given to too many of the third rung of heroes. Ant Man, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye are a bit shit really.

It’s not just that it’s time travel, it’s that most times time travel is a fucking mess. The logical flow of time travel in this was so bad the writers had to brow beat you with their premise while joking about older movies. Virtually none of it made any sense. Just fucking dumb. The pacing was bad. The fights were meh. Only redeeming thing was flabby Thor.
True story. I will always find DY’s media opinions suspect now. This was the last season of game of thrones but with comics
Ohh hey you just got back from the quantum realm. Doesn’t mean you can do time travel. One evening later. I know time travel.

I think it's fair to say we're all consistently inconsistent due to various internal biases. This is the sort of movie I would normally just excuse shit for too. That scene where they bludgeoned me with their time travel logic was so jarring to me that I almost just tossed my hands in the air lol. I was pot committed though and rode it out.
