By Celcius Go To PostSigh, before the pandemic I used to wear a watch to the office every day. I’ve just realized that I haven’t been wearing watches while working from home all these months. Maybe I should put one on today… I wonder if it will feel weird.
Time will tell.
I also take them off as soon as I get home unless I plan to cook dinner etc.
Behold, the mini dark tuna.

Another 17cm wrist reporting in. If Tissot could make that 36/38mm variant of the PRX 80 they got me by the wrists.
So I finally pulled the trigger on a watch that I feel like does everything I'm looking for and will diversify my options for a long time coming. I kept listing models I came across and a lot of them look great. But there was one watch in particular I found myself constantly coming back to. I was just a bit hestitant to order since there are no dealers around and return policies seemed like a hassle. Untill I found out there's actually a Dutch authorized dealer. I got in touch with them and they assured me a return would be totally fine if the size/fit would disapoint in real life.
So I ended up ordering the Zelos Mako V3 TI with the mother of pearl dial. Also known as the blue mop. It's the titanium version of the already well regarded Mako V3. I basically wanted a really nice design and something that would be better on a technical level in every aspect compared to my Seiko 5. I also wanted it to feature a nice bracelet I would actually wear and it needed to be versatile enough to be a daily driver. Lastly I really wanted a date window since I need to know the date at work a lot during the day. This watch comes with the Miyota 9015 which ticks at 28.800 beats. It features luminescence that really knocks it out of the park. And with a 20mm lug to lug I'll have plenty of strap choices. The bracelet that it comes on already features quick release springbars, so that's sweet. I already have two 20mm straps for my Seiko quartz that I can try on the Mako. All in all I'm overly excited to receive it.
I feel like it should wear pretty much the same size-wise as my Seiko quartz. If that's the case it's gonna be a keeper. It really ticks all the boxes for me when it comes to having a first more 'serious' watch or whatever you wanna call it. The Seiko 5 will probably be worn a lot less going forward but it will serve me nicely as a more dressy watch on the leather strap.

By Anya Taylor-Sad Go To PostI don't think I've seen that in person yet. Checked all the stores of course.
Yeah there are rumors because Tissot themselves responded on one of their instagram posts. Someone said they’d love a smaller version. And the reaction was something along the line of “well, be sure to be on the lookout”. So yeah, no idea if it was just some SoMe worker feeling playful or if they’re actually planning on making one.
By reilo Go To PostNo pics? wtf
Haha, I could have opted for stock pics. But I’ll try to shoot some nice photos when it arrives. Here’s the product page: https://zeloswatches.com/products/mako-v3-300m-ti-blue-mop?variant=39393698250841
Since I don't have a proper camera it's pretty hard to take some decent shots.
The second picture showcases the mother of pearl effect best. But pictures honestly don't do it justice.
I unpacked the watch around 1am today coming home pretty buzzed from a night out. Now that my hangover ain't so bad anymore I've had the time to take it all in and see how I like wearing it. And luckily I can say that I love it. Sizewise it's simply perfect, that was basically my only concern. The dial looks amazing in real life. But definitely not too flashy when just wearing it. You'll only notice how special it is when you drag it into the light to look at the time. At other time it's just smooth and mostly undercover. The high beat caliber is lovely to just stare it. And indeed, the luminova is amazing on this watch. As soon as I enter slightly darker areas it lights up bright. Gonna have to see in practice how long the glow will stay but so far I'm really impressed by it.
I intend to wear the watch on it's bracelet as well as other straps. Going by jeweler store tomorrow to have the bracelet adjusted for size. I can't seem to simply push out the pins with a springbar tool. Saw some Youtuber adjusting a Zelos bracelet with a 1.2mm screwdriver and I think the same applies to my bracelet. I'll just have it done professionally now to see what the deal is (don't have that size screwdriver around the house). At the moment I wear it on a blue silicon strap from Barton as seen in the pics. And it's funny how perfect the navy blue fits with the watch. Especially considering I bought that strap for a completely different watch. So I think the silicon strap is also gonna get some proper mileage.
So yeah, I'm really impressed by this watch and I think it's gonna be great fun wearing it. The AD added a stroopwafel to package and a hand written note wishing me a good experience. So that's a nice personal touch from them. They're doing their best to create a more personal experience even though you buy it online. Can definitely recommend them for other Europeans here; Serious Watches is the shop. They're AD for quite a few brands.

Hahahaha read stroopwafel and immediately knew who you were talking about ;)
Bought my Kamasu there last year.

So I had the bracelet adjusted for size today. Never worn a bracelet before the watch and the lady at the jeweler store could tell from initial struggle to get the clasp right lol. Love how it fits and it feels sturdy. Had four links being taken out.
And I managed to get a proper shot of the dial in some dressingroom light at a store.
Bought a black Casioak today on a whim since it was a third off on Amazon (with the provisio that it was out of stock and it'll be delivered…whenever). I'm not an absolute chad beefcake like say, Linus, so who knows what'll look like on my wrist.
It’s a 44mm case right? If they were to make a 40 or 38mm version I’d be interested. At this size I know it’s futile to even fit it for me. What’s your wrist size?
By Linius Go To PostMove the watch a bit down the wrist so it sits behind the wrist bone (so to the left on that pic). It should wear more comfortably that way.

Assuming the clasp has micro adjust holes, as the wrist is at its skinniest there, and you may need to tighten the bracelet a step.
Yeah I put my watch on just above the wrist bone. Otherwise the crown is piercing my hand all day. My Seiko on the other hand I wear a bit closer to my hand since the crown hardly sticks out. Usually on the wrist bone itself.

By Kidjr Go To PostLinius that is lovely man, really suits your wrist and the blueface is a nice colour!
Thanks, really loving it.
@anya, yeah I think it’s a great looking sporty watch.
Haha, both my automatics have Japanese movements inside them. But there’s a proper chance the next watch will be fitted with a Swiss movement. Be it ETA, Selita or something in house like Tissot or Hamilton.

Yeah I saw that Reddit post too. And the guy said it’s part of the collection and normally he doesn’t have this big of a slice in one place. And honestly, it’s hard to hate the guy. For a luxury collection he does have great taste. Normally you’d expect three Daytona’s set with diamonds and that kind of stuff. This is classy as fuck.
Flipppppp me that is one of the best collections ive ever seen. That platnium day date is giving me an erection
Finally got links taken out of my Tag that I’ve had since June. Really like it. Love wearing watches but I don’t get to too often due to my work. Although I could get a different band, and that may help.
Fiance wanted to buy me a watch for our engagement so I picked one out.
Chose the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 40mm with the blue dial. Was one of the few I've been eyeing for years.
*not my photo
It should arrive in a week or so, will post pics when I get it.

Today my local Rolex AD sends me a text offering a used 44mm SeaDweller for $14900 and a used Skydweller for $30k.
I remember when I could get a new submariner for $8k and a hulk submariner new for $9k. Oof at these prices.

Bought a Seiko Tuna and the Seiko Arnie this month. I'm going to enjoy trying different strap combinations.
The Arnie makes you feel like Dutch himself when you wear it. It's one of the most robust pieces I've worn to date.
This combo looks pretty good imo.
