The Kawhii trade wasn't a trade that depleted the Raptors. They still had a bench and starters.
Kawhii, injuries and all, also is waay more proven than AD, who is equally injury prone. The Raptors also were probably a season away from blowing it up anyway. So the situations aren't the same as Denver is still rather young.
so yeah anyone who trades for AD probably should hope he stays as they will not be able to pull a Raptors because they will probably give up more than just two players.

Kawhi is a better player than AD but that's partially because Davis has never been motivated to try at defense despite having the best defensive tools in the league.

AD is going to miss a chunk of games every year due to various different issues.
That to me is why I have always been concerned with AD. He has an aggressive above the rim game and a body that seems to be less resilient than the average. Twists and turns seem to affect him more than most players, and you have to take that into account with him. Even as he has grown more into his body.
