This morning it was Ingram staying. The one constant is Ball. I honestly think it's asset quantity at this point. They want em all. Lakers trying to keep one.

Fuck you doin kemba
shit is wild as fuck
derrick rose was a real supermax player - but he was fucking mvp, all star, and had playoff runs all before 25. this shit is OD
naw fuck that
how many actual supermax players are there in the league? 3? 4? these dudes catching feelings over making third team nba and guys who actually are loyal as fuck openly state they'll take less in order to not handicap their small market teams
yes, get money. but this doesn't work.

By jjasper Go To PostJust make the super in supermax not count against the teams cap.bingo... or only count as a max
Alright here's the plan. If we can't get Kawhi I want Dragic, Marvin Williams, Biyombo and Gallo plus whatever draft assets we can get for taking on those contracts. Win an extra 10 games next year (progress!) and keep the youth movement going.
By jjasper Go To PostJust make the super in supermax not count against the teams cap.literally that simple
it still kinda isn't though.. what if a team just can't get a good enough player to get to supermax? In this scenario say Kemba just misses 3rd team, then they have to have his contract count against the cap?
Has to be a team designated option.

By jjasper Go To PostJust make the super in supermax not count against the teams cap.that or get rid of individual player maxes
By Kibner Go To Postthat or get rid of individual player maxesim all for it as long as there is still some sort of cap.
By Kibner Go To Postget rid of individual player maxes
Ding ding ding.
Pay players what they're worth. Hint, for damn near all of them, it's not 35% of the cap, and it's not even (necessarily) about how good he is (though it certainly helps).
Do you make people watch you play? Are they filling your arena at home? Are they filling the other team's arena (versus their average) when you're on the road? Are you popping TV ratings not only in your city, but in the other city? If you're doing that, you can fill in the check yourself. But if a team is going to be a half-full arena and drawing a 1.0 TV rating with or without you, then fuck giving you 20, 30, 40% of the salary cap.

The problem is that there's a max salary to begin with.
Not being able to pay Kawhi the $60M a year he's worth means that extra $30M is going to inflate contracts for players like Nic Batum and Solomon Hill.

The bonus on top of the regular max he gets does not.
Has to be a team designated option.
Also I really dislike the fact all of these are decided by sportswriters and media members. players should have more input in who is an All NBA player.

Love someone like the Jeanie Buss loves Kuzma
Wtf...Pelinka is trying to show strength against Griff. He clearly doesn't know wtf he's doing. He might fuck around too long and get Griff to trade AD to NY.
Although, that one report about NY rejecting an early proposal/offer makes me believe they did not want to trade Mitchell in any part of the package, which is an ABSOLUTE must, because the remainder of our team offerings are unadultered trash. I imagine Pels wanted the #3, Mitchell, DSJ, and a CreateAPlayer. While Knicks were probably trying to unload some garbage like the #3, Knox, Frank, Trier, Mario

Knicks about to max a broken KD. Miss out on Kyrie. Kemba gonna get paid and keep missing playoffs.

Excellent that Ted is taking this seriously and realizes the caliber of talent that Masai is.
I think it really depends on Kawhi's decision. If he stays, I could see Masai just staying and trying to milk his resume in Toronto.
If Kawhi leaves, chances for DC to nab him are a lot better.
This upcoming season is very strange....
Bucks enter as a decent favorite but it's nowhere close to overwhelming as of now.

Oh, Bropez, Mirotic, Brogdon, and Middleton are FAs.
So, uhhhh, really unclear who the favorite should be.

For the record, i don't know a writer / journalist that is happy that their vote / opinion has anything to do with a players salary. Most hate the concept.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostExcellent that Ted is taking this seriously and realizes the caliber of talent that Masai is.Put this in the finals thread, but i believe Masai turned down a huge offer a year or 2 ago. Believe part of it was his kids / family were established there and he wasn't keen on moving again.

Would have to be monolithic to get him out of Toronto. And i don't think 10m per is enough. Absurd as that is.
