The Lakers reddit really seems to think trading Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Hart & the #4 pick for AD would be something to root for and not a franchise-crippling, Herschel Walker overpay. I want off this ride. Can the Knicks just trade for him and take it out of the Lakers' hands?

By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostKyrie 100% gone
Damn, Kyrie probably already sneaking into Knicks facility to start practicing.
Gives Brooklyn space for two max contracts. Must be convinced they're getting Kyrie and somebody else.
Kyrie to the Nets would be a totally lateral move from Boston, imo. And yeah, Detective + Kyrie would be an odd pairing.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI need to see Russell snitch and expose Kyrie as pro-vaccinationlmao
If they get two max contract free agents, I'd think they sign and trade him somewhere or renounce his rights, no? I don't think those guys would play together.
If kyrie goes to brooklyn, does Durant stay?
Or forms a new super team in new york*.

Brooklyn is New York, yes.
But Barclays is still New Jersey.

By Kabro Go To PostI knew Kawhi's got a bit of that asshole gene.I think Kawhi walks the fine line between uncommon or alternative social behavior and full-on assholery but never really tips over
Kawhi isn’t being an asshole. He’s just not there to be your friend so you can disappoint him every time you get on the court with him. Biggest reason why LeBron only has three rings and not 5, 6, 7...

By Kabro Go To PostIf kyrie goes to brooklyn, does Durant stay?On one hand, this is great for the Knicks fans who didn't really want Kyrie as it didn't make fiscal sense (Knicks have like 4.5 PGs). The bad news is there is no way in Hell I see Durant coming to the Knicks without a second guy in tow/already signed. Knicks need to try and get a guy like Jimmy Butler (has a PO), dude would be perfect for Fizdale's style.

For that matter, Kyrie was bitching about possibly wanting to be the second guy on a superteam again... so he now views the Nets as a destination?
I could take or leave Kyrie as KD's sidekick. It's all about him though, if we don't get KD* then just stick to the rebuild. Also...
The Nets did what? Made up Knicks stories get more attention that actual big Nets news.

By blackace Go To PostWe go from flipping the 1st pick for AD and getting KD and Kyrie to doesn't make fiscal sense …Kyrie was always the bullet you bit to get KD for me, I been posting that for *over a month. And yes, there was the possibility that the Knicks could've gotten those two AND Davis if they got the #1 pick, but a lot of things had to happen including KD and Kyrie taking less than the max.
Man, if the Knicks can't land a decent free agent soon after the doors open...then KD is going to make the entire league wait for his 'decision'. If July opens with a quick signing of a guy like Kyrie or Kemba or even Butler, or a longshot like an AD trade, then KD will be quick to give his answer to NY. Otherwise, the ball will be in NYK's hands to make moves to win KD over.
By masud Go To Post*I'd also take Kawhi is this is true…... That will happen right after James Dolan sells the team.

awwww Knox/Trier/Allen (?) gonna hang out with their future good buddy.
I'm fine with Butler... again as KD's sidekick. If we're not getting KD I'm not trying to pay any of these dudes.
If the Knicks can win the AD sweepstakes by trading everything not nailed to the floor, then sign KD they would still have about 20 million left to fill out the roster. That might be the best route...

By masud Go To PostIf the Knicks can win the AD sweepstakes by trading everything not nailed to the floor, then sign KD they would still have about 20 million left to fill out the roster. That might be the best route…... can the Knicks grow some young talent first? The minute the Knicks didn't get the 1st pick the AD ship sailed. There's no way the Knicks can offer a better package unless a) Boston refuses to enter the sweepstakes b) Pelicans owner really hates the Lakers c) Zion holds up the Pelicans to go get him his little buddy RJ Barrett.
If Kyrie leaves Boston's not really gonna go hard for AD, who might not wanna play there in the first place. The Pelicans owner might actually hate the Lakers (whose assets aren't that good). And you're kidding yourself if you don't think pairing Zion with his bestie is something the Pelicans are considering. Throw in New Orleans native Mitchell Robinson and the mountain of picks they could throw at them the Knicks are clearly in the game.
AD for RJ and Mitch Robinson and what would certainly be worthless picks is a creative offer with absolutely no downsides for NOR obvi.
Someone convinced me that T Prince is a good get for a 1st. His rebounding numbers don't look promising even for a 3.
Kyrie worries me as a franchise guy with his injury history. If we pick him up we obviously dump one or more of Russ/Lavert/Spence trio, but to where and for what?

Prince is a wing that you will be perpetually "meh" on but never in a rush to replace (unless you are a contending team).
By Sho_Nuff82 Go To PostAD for RJ and Mitch Robinson and what would certainly be worthless picks is a creative offer with absolutely no downsides for NOR obvi. And DSJ and Knox. Plus they have the Mavs unprotected 2021 pick (probably the year high school kids are back in the draft) which has a more than decent chance of being in the lottery. With the new odds that's far from worthless. The Knicks could theoretically give them picks in 4 straight drafts starting in 2021.
Don't see how the Lakers blow that away what with Ingrams health concerns and upcoming pay day and Lonzo publicly saying that he doesn't want to play in New Orleans.

According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Celtics will still pursue a trade for Anthony Davis even if Kyrie Irving leaves via free agency.Hoford and AD with Tatum at SF is going to be unfair.
There has been a lot of buzz lately regarding Irving leaning towards signing with Brooklyn, which will pick up steam now that the Nets have traded away Allen Crabbe to clear out max cap room. However, per Mannix, the Celtics are not "not going to take their foot off the gas when it comes to pursuing Anthony Davis." Nonetheless, it would be somewhat surprising if the Celtics mortgaged their future by trading for AD, considering it might just be a one-year rental.
Lol at the Celtics getting AD and keeping Tatum.

1. The mavs 2021 pick doesn't shape to be in the lottery at all. Don't know why it would even appear that way. Unless you're counting on Unicorn to never play again.
2. How has trading every pick in your entire future worked out for the Knicks in the past?

And that's assuming KP can return and stay healthy, something he's yet to manage in his NBA career. Not saying it's a lock but it's well within the realm of possibility.

Also it wouldn't be every pick it world be 2 of theirs and the two extras from the Mavs. I'm not even saying that would or should be the offer. We were just discussing what the Knicks had to offer vs the Lakers.
Mavs had to lose on purpose a lot to close the year out. After the all-star break it was pretty much a party for dirk and that's it
