Damn, the Hornets' payroll would go above $140 million if they give Kemba the supermax. That seems pretty bad for a treadmill team that can't even make the playoffs in the East.
Am i dumb for kinda thinking Jeremy Lamb could be a good signing if the price isn't too high?
his super inconsistent 3 point % is kinda disconcerting though

Put it like that, you almost have to do it.
Wait, no... never mind.

Free agency moved to June 30th at 6PM. Teams can meet with players on the 29th.
I guess they're just making it official since everybody already had handshake agreements way before July 1st anyway.

It's basically like being a coach hired by Phil Jackson and asked to run the triangle.
By DY_nasty Go To PostDamn you really trying to dodge this 😂Is there anything there to dodge though? Everyone knows Harden can't win a title by himself .. and Kobe says right after that (these comments were made when he was on that streak when CP3 was out) that it can change when CP3 gets back.
Right there talking about playoff success when your boy is sitting right next to him, now that's disrespectful.

So really Westbrook and Harden are basically the same uncoachable clowns but one is more efficient

Meanwhile KD has rings
It feels like Harden practiced for like 500 hours taking impossible stepback threes last summer until he broke reasonable basketball ideas so he seems to care a lot more about being good than Westbrook does.
Harden being the worst offball defender in the league is still very weird though.

If you add Reggie Jackson to that resume (not on talent, but on approach to the game) and the deteriorating situation in Washington it's a pretty alarming trend, despite the division titles and playoff wins.
By DY_nasty Go To PostKerr ain't coaching shit
Never said he was, you'll find multiple instances of me complaining about his shit over the years. Just that KD was the more coachable of all of them.
By blackace Go To Postmeanwhile the Warriors are a better team without KD…
I don't know about definitively better, but without him they play to everyone's strength better. KD's iso style hurts Klay and Steph and keeps the ball out of Dray's hands. The one area they miss him more is on defense though.
They're definitely more fun to watch.

By reddit Go To Post•Staged a coup of John Stockton while he was on the Jazz, causing Stockton to retire.
•Cheated on his wife with a stripper, then getting blackmailed by the prostitute + some other guy, while at the same time being a born-again pastor
•Bristled at Mike Malone being the assistant coach under him (ownership wanted him to be the Associate Head Coach, like Gentry was with Kerr, but when Jackson found out he said NO WAY
•Didn't let assistant coaches do interviews with press because he thought they were gunning for his job
•Pushed Malone out because Jackson thought Malone was gunning for his job
•Ran ISO-ball all the time
•Instilled a "us vs them" where the "them" was the entire front office. He would tell the players that the front office didn't want them to win so that Mark Jackson would look bad. C'mon that's lunacy
•Barred Jerry West and Jim Barnett (the beloved TV color guy) along with everyone else from practices so they couldn't hear the crazy s*** he said to the team
•Told the team Ezeli was rooting for them to lose so that Ezeli would look better (he was injured). This culminated in Ezeli in tears saying that there was no way he would do this, when confronted by the team
•Told the team that Harrison Barnes was possessed by a demon, which is why he regressed
•Darren Erman, the assistant responsible for the defense after Mike Malone left, was recording Mark Jackson surreptitiously to try and capture the crazy s*** like the Harrison Barnes demon thing and the Ezeli thing, but was caught and fired
•Noted homophobe, including the "I'll pray for him" when discussing Jason Collins coming out. This doesn't fly in the bay area when a lot of the team staff is gay and so is the front office, including the COO/President Rick Welts
•Didn't want to hire actual good assistants, instead, he hired yes-men like Pete Myers and Lindsay Hunter, who backstabbed Alvin Gentry in Phoenix to get the head job
•All the coaching staff were allying themselves with star players instead of the players who actually needed their help/development, so a lot players like Barnes didn't get the development time and help they needed
•He put players against each other, telling a star player "hey that bench thinks he's better than you" and then telling the bench guy "hey that star guy thinks you're s***, go take his job"
•Didn't get along with anyone in the front office, including Jerry West, Bob Myers, and actually the rest of the employees (marketing, PR, etc)
•No preparation. He said in the Clippers series that he didn't need to prepare extra hours, when Doc Rivers was up all night devising schemes
A lot of dumb, but also a lot of good reasons listed in there. He doesn't work well with others, basically, which is very important as a head coach.

Going to get ugly
Been trying to tell yall. MDA was not Morey's hire and didn't want him in the first place. It came from ownership (Les Alexander at the time). Looks like it might be happening again fml
Jeff Bzdelik, Roy Rogers and Mitch Vanya have all been let go by GM Daryl Morey. What makes this interesting is the fact D’Antoni is under contract to coach the Rockets next season after the team picked up his 2019-20 option last June.
When asked about the firing of his assistant coaches D’Antoni told Mark Berman of Fox 26, “I thought Jeff (Bzdelik) and everybody under him did a great job. You’d have to ask (GM) Daryl Morey about the reasoning and all that behind it, but there are some great coach out there.”
I can confirm through multiple sources that the decision to pick up D’Antoni’s option next season was owner Tilman Fertitta’s, NOT Morey’s. It should also be noted that the decision to hire D’Antoni was former owner Les Alexander’s.
This story is interesting from all three perspectives.
From Morey’s perspective, he has to feel that an NBA executive with his pedigree should be able to hire the head coach to coach his team.

If front office can pick the coach, seems reasonable they can pick the assistant coaches too. They can go out and get the best available.

I feel like getting fired and then your team immediately getting much much better without you is a sign you are not a good coach.

But regardless of Jackson seeming like a bad coach, he seems like a total douchebag also.
Not sure what, if any, positives there are to Jackson as a coach.

There have been quite a few teams that have peaked after firing a coach... again Green was fuck all fat and out of shape and Jackson squeezed quite a bit from Lee...
I would rather have Jackson coaching than Vogal, Brooks, Walton, or Clifford right now...
