Ok ... agreed, but if you’re a team, who’s easier to replace and try something new? Harden good enough to get them to GS which is $$$. Harder to replace than a coach. A coach may not result in something different but you’re still “trying” while making $$$ and getting a shot at some luck. D’antoni Is getting them further regardless
By DY_nasty Go To PostThey were losing the exact same way before Pringles got there
It's Harden lol

so you gonna rep kevin mchale like he aint trash

By s y Go To PostBelieve in harden after a Kawhi less spurs and 40 year old Manu busted his ass at home.Only the warriors can beat them 😬
By Smokey Go To PostMDA about to be extended another 3 yearsIsn't my approach just a deep-seated belief that the Wolves don't do good things and if they do, it's on accident.
I'm about to take the rodeo approach with this shyt
By DY_nasty Go To PostOnly the warriors can beat them 😬as much i love hating on CP3, let's not pretend he didn't elevate them a lot, or that Harden hasn't gotten better.
By diehard Go To Postas much i love hating on CP3, let's not pretend he didn't elevate them a lot.Having a PG helps - at the same time, they've been running PGs out of Houston for years. They picked up Chris to acknowledge the mistake then bid against no one to keep him while ignoring the main reason they keep losing.

I'm not gonna pretend it's finals or bust because of course, the warriors exist but maaaaaaaan
By s y Go To PostJimmy Butler was the best accident they ever made. They really got monkey paw'd.It got Thibs run out of town, though. The most silver of linings.
I'm actually somewhat optimistic about them firing Thibs and not replacing him with somebody Taylor knows like Billups or Calvin Booth. Rosas and the assistant GM he hired today both seem like good, qualified people that understand the modern NBA. Save this take for when they blow the pick and draft Hachimura.
I'm just saying i wouldn't take any other West team in a series over Houston besides Golden State (this will probably change next year) and probably only the Bucks in the East, with the Raps having a good shot.
We're to the point where Rockets fans should try to appreciate being a top 5 team and watching some ridiculous scoring performances from Harden followed by a 2nd or 3rd round playoff out.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postname one team that got rid of Mike D that didn't end up regretting it almost instantlyKnicks? Lakers?
The west actually kinda fucking sucked this year it's time to be real guys lol
If Houston doesn't cheese bullshit all year they're a Celtics tier squad

Mike D era is like the last time the Knicks were relevant.
Without Nash there to run his system in LA it was a wrap. Gasol started crying about shooting threes. Kobe took over the offense completely once it was clear Nash was a zombie. Dwight was hurt. Lakers don't miss Mike D but he never got a chance to really do much.
I think Mike D still had the Rockets performing "well" this post season. First two games were relatively close in GS. CP falling off didn't help anything. I think they missed Ariza despite his shooting woes too.
By reilo Go To PostY'all let the Magic, Nets and Pistons into the playoffs I don't wanna hear it 😂Look at who all was in the playoff hunt out West. It wasn't about who was trying to win so much as who finally admitted it was time to lose. Can't be mad at young teams scrapping to get in - but the teams who are actually supposed to be improving in the west did what but prove their window was shut?

Yea man, that young core of Blake Griffin/Andre Drummond and Vucevic/Fournier really finally showing their potential.

MDA didn't do anything for them to perform "well". He didn't make adjustments to anything. Capela was getting ate up and he still insisted on playing him.

Nuggets are the best come up out West and they only made it past the Spurs because Pop was saving his timeouts for next year. Everyone else got hard looks in the mirror they're still avoiding (not counting the clippers). For all the shit Philly gets, at least they have real options and didn't pay Dante Exum or shit like that...
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostMike D era is like the last time the Knicks were relevant.bs, woodson is the only coach that had a decent knicks team going and made it to the 2nd round too.

It's also worth noting they were the 5th ranked D in the NBA under Woodson
By reilo Go To PostMagic on average older than the Thunder lolI can't imagine a better position than being anchored to Westbrook 🙄
By reilo Go To PostAs opposed to DJ Augustin and Vucevic? okayI could go a lot of ways with this, but you know what? Yes.
Your move lol
westbrook is a year away from being point guard carmelo anthony and he's owed 47 million in 2022 lmao
By reilo Go To PostThose two dudes won't even be on the Magic roster next year but lol okayWow.
At least OKC has PG I guess
Yes, being tied to franchise player Westbrook is great.
i'mma cut through all of this shit.
the whole league was kinda ass this year. Sans the Warriors every team has a glaring flaw that trades and time probably won't fix and unless they get lucky, this might be the peak of most of them. The Bucks and Raptors are the kings of the east when Kawhii is probably gone leaving them w/ max Lowry and Siakam., while the Bucks are getting carried by cheap dudes who will be looking to get paid and the Bucks probably won't be able to do so. Which means both teams have to hope they draft well w/ late picks or giannis gets a jumper and Siakam levels up again. Don't get me started on us relying on Mr. Glass and Mr. Fuck a Jumpshot. Boston is imploding and everyone else is just happy to be here which will probably lead to dudes getting the max that don't deserve it and people being shocked when it backfires.
out West Denver is relying on Milsap to save them as Murray chucks it away. SA's clone factory is in stasis. The Clippers are relying on FAs coming to play for the Clippers. The Blazers are probably maxed out in terms of progression. Houston now has the corpse of CP3 on their hands. Utah needs to get Mitchell some goddam help so he doesn't chuck himself to death.....which will require FAs to go to Utah.. OKC is carried by two dead men walking.
A lot of teams are going to have to rely on miracles going forward...going to be interesting to see who gets it.
