"Pelinka wasn't nice to me" ....
It's like dude ... wtf are you doing ...
All I need to know about the Magic situation is that he didn't even seek permission, guidance, and blessing from LeBron before resigning.
Magic 😂😂
Says more about the Lakers that they were happy with him as President and he had to quit instead.
Y'all fucked.

Magic Johnson takes another torch to the Lakers on ESPN's 'First Take'
Johnson repeatedly accused Lakers GM Rob Pelinka of stabbing him in the back.
“I wasn’t having fun coming to work anymore, especially when I’ve got to work beside you, knowing that you want my position,” he said of his former employee.
“You know how many agents called me and said watch out for him?” he added.
And then the kicker: “If you’re going to talk betrayal, it’s only with Rob.”
You know what Johnson could have done if Pelinka was the biggest obstacle between him and professional happiness? Fire him. Instead, Johnson threw Pelinka under the bus on national television, letting the NBA world, including the team’s many free-agent targets, know that there is serious dysfunction within the Lakers.
…..
All smiles as the Lakers continue to burn around him. It’s a good thing he conducted this interview on Monday morning, just before Pelinka is supposed to introduce Vogel as the team’s new coach at a press conference. I can’t imagine what kind of questions they might face from the assembled media masses in L.A.
I'm seriously wondering how Magic got to be one of the best players ever with this attitude. Dude wants his job so instead of getting him dealt with.. he just gives him his job?
Dude could write a tell all book and release the fucker in a year but he’s gotta go clear things up day of Vogel signing as we enter FA.

Fuk the Lakers
Dudes got Guggenheim money backing him. He's playing the game like Bran hoping he can own the lakers and do nothing like he was doing as the president of basketball operations.

I'm still watching all the segments, cuz Magic was there for the full hour of the show, but he said the straw that broke his back is that Jeanie was letting too many people from different departments have sway over decisions he thought he had the final say on when he accepted the job. In this specific case it has to do with some unknown fuck named Tim Harrison being Luke's boy but also working on the business side with Jeanie and trying to stop Magic from firing Luke. Even though they ended up firing Luke anyway, Magic was pissed that it was taking too long, an apparent affront to his position as president.
Also, he couldn't just get Pelinka dealt with, because Pelinka is boys with Kobe, and Kobe also happens to be in Jeanie's ear all the time. So Magic's basic point is that Jeanie is letting too many people from too many sides get in the way of making decisions. So yeah, in the end he says he quit because he just wasn't having fun anymore. It's basically so much a shitshow over there that even one of the best players ever said fuck it.
And also, Pelinka didn't get the job anyway. Lakers already announced Pelinka will only be continuing as GM.

Two problems with this:
A. you knew the job. If you wanted to go to the movies on Sunday night, don't take it.
B. The only reason you're feeling like you need to clear the air is because of the way you left.
The timing of this is calculated and it reeks.
I dunno about "knowing the job." Being in a position where you're constantly undermined isn't going to be spelled out for you on the contract.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI dunno about "knowing the job." Being in a position where you're constantly undermined isn't going to be spelled out for you on the contract.
Sure, but being absent half the time from a demanding position was part of the cause of him being undermined
When it's all said and done that still says more about what your Lakers were willing to tolerate and how broken of a fucking organization they are than it even does about Magic.

Little known fact: the jersey in the lower right is from the season that never happened.
I understand Magic's position on the whole debacle. I've been there myself within my own company (I didn't quit, I waited it out and my backstabber was axed 18 months later). The difference is: Magic has a massive corporate empire he needs to deal with outside of the Lakers. So all of this petty drama is child's play for him and he has bigger fish to fry. Jeanie hired him full well knowing he wouldn't be all-in and hands-on, and that he needs a right hand to handle day-to-day for him. This is normal for a corporate atmosphere. So she's to blame for this too for accepting his request, and then allowing the circus tent to inflate on its own.
Selling the team isn't really an option at the moment. The solution to all of this? GM/Player LeBron needs to make a return. Bring that guy out of retirement.

Trying to think of who had lost the Lakers locker room and where he might play now.
Anyone have a recording of that?

To be honest a bunch of these teams are held back by ownership and GMs. Until those change the fuck over these teams ain't gonna amount to shit. Or they'll get a one off and go back to being uber crap, like the Cavs.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postname one team that got rid of Mike D that didn't end up regretting it almost instantly
If he was actually coaching here, you'd have a point. But he's not.
His "system" is to let Harden carry. Used to think it was Morey's fault for all the damn 3s, but fuk all that. Listening to MDA all season, he doubles and triples down on everything. MDA the one on the court. No GM is about to actively tell a coach what they can and cannot do during a game. That Warriors shit we see now is the evolution of when MDA was actually on his shit ;_;. He'll be 71 ffs when this extension is over
Rodeo. Teach me. Fuk this.
I would say a fair criticism for Houston is that their best shot with this system was last year. That this year was the same result. Some of that is defensive, but some of that is just system. Harden ISO ball and drive n kicks alone ain’t gonna cut it. Now they got an aging CP to deal with and they can’t use his injury like last year as a reason for their loss.
I’m not sure if firing D’aontini will give them better results, but I think it’s fair to say his potential with this squad against this team (which runs fine without KD) has peaked
