I like that this website advertises itself with this picture:
The dude dares pretend his shtick is "great writing", it's in the title, and he follows it up by shitty writing.

"...As we still haven't figured out how to monetize press on the fucking Internet and this might be our very last chance to implement our old familiar subscription models"

I would say when it comes to the Internet, subscription models are the new hotness and ad revenue is the old familiar way.
Paywalled content can work. It produces the best journalism in some places. But they don't sell the pretense of great writing by high school standards, they get scoops.
It's embarrassing how Greece uses Giannis, he just got waved off because some oaf wanted a post up. He barely touches the ball on offense

The Athletic is worth the sub if they cover the teams you care about. There is precious little good coverage of the Pels, and they picked up one of the like four people I trust to talk about them so I subbed and it has been worth it.
Also, the Pels have an ESPN beat writer again! He is also one of the four people I trust.

The other beat writers are terrible in comparison. Same applies to their Hockey coverage which is harder to come across from places like ESPN

Dwayne Wade told Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times that he will workout with LeBron James before Los Angeles Lakers home games.
"You're definitely going to see me out there. I'll be there early to work out with LeBron before the game starts. I just want to stay around it and be as involved as I can," said Wade.
Wade, who retired at the end of last season, left the door open on a possible return to the game.
"I'm done, but my trainer is going to keep me in shape just in case something happens. I'm going to stay in shape because you never know. Never say never."
...weird

If the Lakers are coasting to 55 wins, I could see Wade coming back for another playoff run. Would definitely diminish the farewell tour, but a reunion now (as opposed to the Cleveland thing) would be big for fans.
Are we not going to discuss that a team with an actual MVP scored 50 pts in regulation? Harden would never go out like that.

Pure hypothetical, just imagining a best case scenario that would pull Wade back onto the court. He's not coming back if AD has back spasms in December, Lebron is subtweeting Dwight, and the Lakers are looking like a 7 seed.

“We ran the analytics and found he shoots better with a headband,” Snyder said of Conley. “So, I have encouraged him to wear one."
KD is such a lame, always in his feelings crying and worrying about people's opinions

This Andre Iguodala stuff is hilarious. Thinks he can get bought out for the full cost of his contract so he can go play with a contender. Dude should take some lessons from Antonio Brown on how to get off a team.
