By sy xxx Go To Postdid the same, it doesnt matter. you get tons of them.
oh yeah i just found out i could just buy one.
got lady butterfly down, but not really sure where to go now tbh. will explore some tomorrow.
Killed the bridge armour cunt tonight in a really awesome way lol, kicked him through the wood without him damaging it or anything beforehand
This area is hugeeee, holy shit

This game is so different when you know what you’re doing :lol
Every boss down so far up until entering the dojo on my first go. Mikiri countering Seven Spears felt brilliant; the sense of feeling like a competent shinobi makes it a lot more fun.
Got Butterfly, the katana dude and then Genichiro.

I'm so ridiculously good at humiliating headless ape right now. All you have to do is deflect a couple of swings to force him into his overhead attack that gets him stunned.
The axe trivializes Butterfly, you could break her posture in like 3 hits.

By Hixx Go To PostThis motherfucker is absolute trash but he also ends up teaching you that spamming L1 is (disappointingly) extremely effective. Learn the range for his double slash then you don't even have to time it, just double tap l1 the second you see that flash.LMAO
The red eye version of this fight later is fucking ebola
I started NG+ last night but I forgot I had Yakuza 2 to play through so might do that instead and just wait for the inevitable Tomoe DLC.
YOY CAN JUST SPAM IT?

Deflect the overhead, then spear into his wound and pull, which pulls out the centipede. Does a ton of posture damage.
Genichiro down on ng+ first time
And butterfly too. Havent actually died on ng+ yet lol. Died, but not died and been unable to resurrect.
Sunken valley now.

n8 might objectively be the Shinobi supreme here.
my god how I hate fighting DoH. No sake for you motherfucker
ahh, I just can't wait for the expansion!!! Like, gimme anything half as good as The Old Hunters, Artorias, The Ringed City or The Lost Crowns trilogy. Judging by their release dates, I'd say we could be getting something in like 6 to 8 months time. They usually reveal them 5 months after release, so prosthetic fingers crossed..

How do I get to the Sunken Valley m8s? Must have missed it somewhere :/
Anyway, beat that fast dojo dude and just beat O'rin (cheesed her :lol)

Go to the area you fought the mini boss in the little courtyard surrounded by dudes. There’s a broken bridge, drop down there.
Horse not handling being away from Shawty well I see
By Red Blaster Go To Postbeat guardian apeare you sure
Just beat the optional(?) boss Demon of Hatred. After about 10 tries decided instead of trying to dodge his damn stomps, to actually deflect lol. Malcontent makes the 3rd phase so easy.
Time to finish the game.
Nice touch of how they dropped little hints in the conversations you have with the Sculptor throughtout the game. Mentioning the whistle and then how that helps in this fight. Would be great for the DLC to get some more background on his character.

Came back to this after beating it a week ago. Killed demon of hatred. not too hard took a couple tries. Big bosses are boring in this game. I think there are a couple minibosses in fountainhead i need to clean up.
nah shit's basic unless you really want to get all the endings.
you do get a charm that if you give back to the lad at the start makes the game harder by giving you chip damage if you block attacks, but really who'd want that with the jank?

By sy xxx Go To PostDo you get any new outfits or anything in NG+?if you go for the Shura ending (by siding with Owl) you get to fight two new bosses.
I'd say NG+ is definitely worth experiencing now that you're proper good at the game and equipped with high-end skills.
High Monk mofos
By Wahabipapangus Go To Postso i got to some icy part with lots of cunts shooting me from everywhere. this isnt cool.
spam the dodge button while alternating moving left and right when crossing the bridge
Beat the final boss. Struggled to get past 3rd phase after so many tries, but somehow beat the 4th phase first try.
When for the secret ending. Time for NG+ and the other (bad) ending.

good news and bad news
good news is I tried my other controller and now genichiro has become a bitch because lb was kinda wonky with the controller I was using
bad news is I don't have enough experience with his 2nd phase to kill him 1st try

No lie, Monkey is probably the most memorable FromSoft boss for me.
What's not to love about a boss that farts and throws shit at you.
Second has to be the headless that teleports behind you and proceeds to rip away your anus. What a game.

Platin done.
Damn that last run was so damn fast. Feels hilarious looking back, at how much time I spent with the first ending.

^Long thread
I mostly agree with him regarding the combat (and the negatives), but I wouldn't say it's THE best overall game they've made. Most fun gameplay by a huge huge margin though that's for sure
boss fights: DS3
level design: DS and DeS
NPCs (and quests): DeS. #Yurt
story: Not even close, Bloodborne.
Builds variety/replayability: DS2. Other than that, it's the absolute worst in all of the above, especially the first two.
Best overall:
I could probably go on but these are the main categories AFAIC
The level design so is going to be a nightmare if its like this for the whole game, I'm very early in though (haven't even got the bell yet). I play From games a bit obsessively in the way I track my progress, keeping a list of areas I can see but can't explore, doors I can't open, NPCs etc. Haven't seen many landmarks to give me easy descriptors, and I can't help myself from walking to every edge of the level to make sure there's no platforms to drop onto.
For some reason I never considered that there'd be enemy combos that require successive parries, assumed that parrying one hit would disrupt them and the challenge would come from having tiny windows for each individual hit.
Gonne take me a while to get used to there being specific counters to unblockable moves (are there different symbols for different types, or just the one?), and the importance of consumables which I basically never used in Souls and Bloodborne

if it's a thrust, you dodge into it (after gaining mikiri counter skill). If it's a sweep, you jump over it and hopefully land on the enemy. Parry strings are mostly a boss thing, standard enemies don't really have a lot of that outside axe bois and a few others.
There aren't a lot of locked doors or overlap with areas, most of the time you get the key for a door before you even get to the area where that door is. It's quite linear and not a lot of overlap, like 1 whole "does not open from this side" door in the Outskirts, which is just a path back from an optional enemy.

beat the stupid owl, really simple once you realize you can cleanly dodge to his right whenever he charges you
By Red Blaster Go To Postbeat the stupid owl, really simple once you realize you can cleanly dodge to his right whenever he charges youThat goes for nearly every boss.
There's only one where you could only fight with pretty much one style. The rest offer a shitload of options with different prostetics working, different skills being effective and both being more active or trying to keep your distance.
By SUPER YARAK Go To PostShura last boss doesn't even touch my model and I lose half my hp lolThe fire sweep?
That one was proper shit.
Not even the fire sweep! The ichimonji shit that has a hitbox far in excess of it's actual visual range, or the fucking grab that tracks you like a Dark Souls 2 boss tracking Madeleine McCann.

I kind of avoided the grab by keeping a bit of distance overall.
The thing where the whole room is on fire kept fucking me up a few times. Denied him afterwards by throwing firecrackers at him.
Took a bit of time to get used to, but the Purification ending boss kept fucking me for a lot longer.
