Beat the big monkey on my first go today
Still enjoying the game a ton its just come down to me hammering L1 for every boss. Story and lore is super meh too. 8/10 m8s - very good, no classic

One fight left. I'm probably gonna jump right back in for my second run, just so I could fight all the mutually exclusive bosses.
I suppose it can be done, with the whole Memory thing.

Gotta say, there hasn’t really been one fight where my heart is pumping. Genichiro and Lady Butterfly were really good. But otherwise I get my ass handed to me or just get bored pressing L1 then hit, L1 then hit.

For some reason I found him much easier than Genichiro, he leaves himself too open after his telegraphed combos and is so easy to bait. Do you have the Feathers Prosthetic? That and countering with Shanks' umbrella could, in theory, destroy him. Or the poison daggers! You could definitely get two full on combos to make it STICK. Honestly anything could work! If you wanna play it safe wait for him to do that overhead jump, just side step and slash.
the last fight (which I haven't beaten yet) is the purest distillation of everything Sekiro, a proper rock paper scissors battle. They fucking nailed the visceral feel of sword fights
I loved the setpieces this time around, and the morbid beauty of the areas was a definite highlight. The infiltration of the impenetrable Gun Fort was quite the rush (which was then followed by that absolute maniac of a boss lol)
My favourite has to be the Ape and the meta finish.

Incredible. Not only do you have to fight both end bosses in a row if you die, you have to quit the entrance cutscene that plays too. This game really fucking stinks of the ds2 devs

It's not even difficult, just tedious. It's a game that constantly ignores it's own rules. There seems to be some funky damage scaling for bosses as watching jimmy's final boss footage displays. I went into that fight with full hp but the attacks did more damage to me. Must be a percentage based ting going on there

Yeah my hp/posture were more than adequate. Have you been skipping some mini bosses lately? You find plenty in this arc, like at least 5 or 6. Go buy the anal beads from the merchants and "the box" too if you can
the first phase is actually pretty easy, all you need to do is sidestep to get three free hits. In general this is a posture fight so forget about all that hp. Get close and personal, all you need is one positive streak to fuck his posture up

probably the only game where if you win you know it was 100% skill. No button mashing yourself outta fights
Lads I've already beaten every boss. The game is easier than ds1. I had max hp, all beads collected, what I'm trying to say is that it looks like boss attack damage seems to scale with your hp. I'm watching sy eat attacks that do 2/3rds the damage they did to me.

forget your hp and all that ninja dogs noise. I BELIEVE in your inner shinobi. Bait him into the combos you feel confident deflecting, if you don't give him any breathing space he panics and whips up his Mikirable thrusts most of the time. Dodge INTO his butt
pop a defense pill and some of that dodgy rice for his third phase.
