By MonadL Go To PostI'm surprised everyone had so much trouble with the bull. By far the easiest boss in the game so far for me. Right now I'm getting the breaks beat off of me by Shibiki Yamauchi. Found the purple ninja dude and he also proceeded to destroy me too. Might finish off Lady Butterfly finally.yep. Maybe the meant the bull miniboss, I just beat it, didn't take more than one revival but I think it's tougher than the bull dude boss.
By data Go To PostDon't say that, they get very upset when you say that
Lady Butterfly down in two tries. So far the main bosses are a cakewalk compared to most of the named mobs.

By SUPER YARAK Go To PostI'm actually struggling. The camera shits the bed, her hitbox and animation fail to line up with what's actually happeningBest advice is to stay aggressive and use shurikens whenever she's in the air. I didn't even need the snapseeds my second time.
Cheers lads. Decided to progress a bit more then come back. Ogre, Mr big sword and horse boi down ez

this is generally the best course of action when you're stuck in Sekiro. I think at one point I had like four bosses on hold lol
By SUPER YARAK Go To PostWent back.good lad
Sorted her right out
I honestly wish this game didn't have so many minibosses. Half of them are okay and the other half have been shit tier. None are really outstanding though.
Those diving kite bitches are pretty cool.
Also, the gameworld feel really big, exploring ashina castle and now I ended up in Sunken Valley fighting monkeys and mummies.

I can do the butterfly bitch 1st phase zero hits but she’s fucking me up the arse second phase
Taking me longer than the other games to learn the attack patterns I think

fuck
you don't need them
just run around till the hallucinations disappear and turn into those bright magic ball things, avoid those too by running and dodging and then continue attacking the granny
Ashina's castle is so awesome that I sometimes go there to mess with the tengus.
Also I managed to miss the window to continue the plot.
Ive already finished two areas that I should go after Ashina.

Papengus.
By sy X Go To PostA poison lake huhhaha dude, that's like a tiny corner of an absolutely SENSATIONAL area.
fromsoft are running out of ideas
wait for the next few levels. Peak From
Finished up the Hirata area (one of the best sections in a FROM game imo). Drunkard and Butterfly were fun bosses, not too difficult once you get the patterns down. Keep forgetting to jump kick counter on sweep attacks.
Also, I initially had no idea there was a secret purple enemy in that area too so had to go back for the items.
Back to Ashina now and just finished off the bull. Easiest boss by far. Used firecrackers and just held down sprint and kept circling.
Only enemy i've had to run from at the moment was the Headless miniboss. Used up the only divine item I had and got rekt. Assume you have to go back to it later in the game.

There are some areas in the game that are much, MUCH prettier than FROM's previous soulsborne games. Kinda miss the option of AOE attacks though. If you enter an area and get ambushed by enemies, that's it for you.
@sy X
what a SAVAGE fight haha. Quite possibly my favourite gaming moment
that whole area in general was like one GOAT set-piece after another
I highly advice we spoiler tag this stuff, as it might ruin it for the guys <3.

By Flutter Go To PostKinda miss the option of AOE attacks thoughbuy them then! Off the top of my head, you already have two Prosthetics AoEs at this point and you could buy a few AoE skills. One of them is really OP and is hidden in the memory area
Just that sometimes I miss broadswords.
Absolutely LOVE the posture mechanic, but I have to take 10 minute breaks after a run because of how exhausting it is.

It's a slippery slope if you wanna add stuff that was in Souls. Don't be a budget Shinobi.
Nah yurt, missing doesn't mean that I want it to be implemented.
Also the storytelling in this game is something else. Subtle, but gives you enough to drive the plot forward. You get hints of characters' motivations in cutscenes, and the rest is filled up by expositions elsewhere.
I just realised what the booze is for. I dont think I'll get enough to fill in the character lores by myself though.

Giant Ape was definitely the worst boss so far for me, asides from the spectacle, the fight was lame. Not sure how FromSoft wanted me to deal with that 2nd phase. Every boss so far has had me aggressive af on their ass, parrying and breaking their posture. This seemed like the total opposite of that mindset, even when using the anti terror mat, you end up having to run away. That combined with the shit hitboxes and tracking, blegh.
By sy X Go To PostOn that Ape Boss:On the contrary! You had to be aggressive AF during his first phase! The key moment for me was when I realised that all I had to do was be as fast as him, so I kept my thumb on the run button at all times. Mind you, not to run away from him, but to match his speed. You could down him in less than a minute if you use fire btw! It'll stagger him for a good few seconds. That second phase was tricky as fuck though with his unusual movement, no head and all lol…but turns out, you just had to parry one of his over the head strikes to stagger him.

hopping around him like a possessed Chucky worked too lol because he'll just miss every swing. If you were running, not necessarily away from him, even his poop and grabs will miss you.

My only issue with the first phase is with his overhead grab move, the tracking/hitbox is not consistent at all. During the second phase, there are too many attacks that cause you to be on the defensive for damn near the whole fight. You can jump his lunging attack and get a few hits, his other attacks seem pointless to parry/block as they break posture too much(and you can't break his posture). The terror scream, you're forced to run away. His jumping sweep move you jump over but he recovers too quickly to get more than a couple hits off and he doesn't do the big overhead swing that you can parry often enough to make it an enjoyable fight. Easily the low point for me so far and it's definitely the only boss so far that's taken more than 3-5 minutes to deal with.
On the boss Sy and Yurt is talking about;
Disliked him too. For me it's his attacking animation and pose that's the problem. He contorts his body so much it's hard to hit him, and that his arm length coupled with his katana makes it hard to a hold on when to deflect.

go left and kill the first dude with the shield from behind, run to arrow dude and kill any other rando without pulling in the friendly guy at the back. as soon as it's down to you and drunken sumo dude you go and get help from the guy in the back. wait till he focuses your friend and go all in with attacks. if he aggros you just stay away and wait till he switches to the friend again. i beat him EZPZ without parrying a single thing in 40 seconds.
