With the netcode that most of these fighters have? Big Yikes.
Cross-posting because maybe fighting game fans are more interested:

Gundam Maxiboost is so much better than VS because it got rid of boost dive. It also has two different acguys so I'm real happy.
By data Go To PostIs psycho zaku in it?I dunno man, probably. There are nearly 200 suits in this game.
I had to relearn how to boost dash and fuwa, but it improved my survivability 100%. Also, here is a good wiki for the game that I found when looking up movement technique videos: https://ggez.space/mbon-wiki/
Also also, I can't play for longer than an hour at a time because I'm old and my hands start cramping up. Might need to get a stick just for that if I do end up playing this a lot more.

this game looks fun
multiple enemies is confusing af though
have the devs ever spoken about a pc version?
No, never. It is primarily an arcade game and these are home ports. Team composition is only 2v2, I think, and there is a dedicated "switch target" button so it's not that confusing. Do have to be aware of the mini-map in the top right to make sure your positioning benefits yourself and your teammate.
Also, the game technically only has four action buttons: ranged attack, melee attack, jump, and change target. It also uses digital movement (i.e. d-pad). The special moves are combinations of those three buttons pressed at the same time. There are no real combos or special move sequences to learn like most fighters.
The game is, honestly, 90% about movement, positioning, and timing.
That targeting crosshair helps with timing (red means your shots will track, green they won't, and yellow means the enemy is currently invincible). Also, you only have so much boost (gauge in lower right corner) which is used for moving fast and breaking tracking but you have to land to refill it. So, you have to predict when your opponent will land and fire off some shots that will connect when they do so that they are unable to avoid it (you can't perform any actions for a split second when landing).
The minimap is used to make sure you are positioned correctly (you generally want both enemies in front of you and your teammate outside your line of fire since there is friendly fire in the game). There is also the concept of one player taking point and the other playing backup to him. Usually the higher cost/more valuable suit takes point because they have more boost gauge, allowing them to be more aggressive or defensive, as needed.
For movement, you can jump, double tap jump to sprint in a direction, and double tap d-pad to evade and break enemy tracking. The main movement techniques use combinations of those actions.
My goal is to figure out how to move like this guy (and with this particular character):
I am extremely far away from it.

melee community kinda owns
By Kibner Go To PostThe game is, honestly, 90% about movement, positioning, and timing.that's my fav part of fighting games anyway, it's what I like so much about the (older) Tekken games. I don't usually enjoy arena fighters that much, since they seem even more reliant on good movement mechanics, and most games fail in that regard, but gundam looks like it does it right... I would still prefer 1v1 but ima give this a try when I get the chance. My local seems interested in the game too which is cool
There will be another free open access period this weekend where you can try it out. I think it only runs for 24 hours unless you pre-order (then it's 48 hours). Last time, it ran from Friday at 22:00 CST to Saturday at 22:00 CST.
There was a tournament this weekend for the open access. Below is a first-person recording of the winners with their audio comms and also some additional commentary mixed in:
Gonna check that out later. 👀
Welp. If that dumbass "joke" wasn't enough proof, this is a terrible look. Apparently, MikeZ been a crazy bigot. If any of that shit is true then....
Edit: Looks like this dude might have had issues too. Smfh.
I started watching Sonic when he was bodying people in this shit: Dekillsage too.
Lab Zero is cursed, frfr. That said, if they just let this shit rock, then they deserve it. Smfh.

Meant to ask: Is anybody participating in Evo, this year? Thought about going 0-2 for SG, but I dunno about that now. I haven't done tournament stuff, in a minute (last year for DBFZ).

Circumstances aside, it's about time Tasty Steve and the other commentators start building up an audience on twitch. Aris used to commentate for damn near every fighting game till that twitch money came through.

Sajam is the only guy who's really seeing it take off but he's all about putting work in regarding content. Shit, Yipes has seen more growth from CoD than all his other stuff...
