terrible season overall, you can tell they dont have a clue anymore
hadn't realized that 6/10 of the episodes had been tegridy farms shit.
Idk why i doubted i would care about the bobbie stuff but whew, great season. One of my favorite things about this show is how they show the consequences for shit at almost every level. British dude playing psychopath corp guy killed it.
book ppl are saying this season is actually better than the book it covers if anyone cares about that kinda stuff

I am him.
"Does that mean we're not fucking anymore?"
So I watched a couple more eps of Watchmen and man, it's really, really good. Confident as fuck. I like what they're doing with Ozymandias, iirc he was the most egocentric of the characters in the comic book and Jeremy Irons continues that :lol
Watching season one of the Leftovers off the strength of Watchmen and I'm enjoying it buuuuuuut I'm gonna need some answers soon. I just finished episode 8 and I still have no idea what's going on, building mystery every episode is starting to get annoying.
Hopefully by the end of the season, I atleast know a little bit more about the magical negro plotline.
Also, the cop's daughter is fucking awful. Every scene with her sucks.
Also Also, the cop only has two emotions so far, extreme anger and extreme bewilderment lol

These shows are making it really hard to care about movies, outside of CG there's not much a movie can do to top them
That was a great finale of Watchmen.
I have to do a full mea culpa on Lindelof.
"How is HBO gonna survive after GoT ends" they said.

Any decent film noir type TV series? Preferably that don't rely on alcoholism to inject a bit of character flaw and jeapordy

I'm not angry at this statement at all, think a little too early for that but I could find myself agreeing with you in a few months

people who blame him for lost are the same people who were obsessed with the show.

Season 1 wasn't as good as season 2 or 3, and season one he had source material. Season 2 and 3 were all him. Really great finish and one of the few shows I felt got better as it progressed.
Still need to watch watchman tonight. Then I need to start up the expanse. My wife and I also need to start Marvelous Ms Masel too.
By DY_nasty Go To PostFinished Expanse S4.
Things drag a bit, but oddly it handles this arc better than the book.
Think I'm about half way through. It's got me pretty damn hooked.
Regarding the end of the watchman: Such a cock tease.
Watchmen was incredible: straight up. Felt good to hear how I feel about the vast majority of superheroes, in one line, delivered by Will / Louis Gosset Jr. "He didn't do enough."
They have a lot of material to work with, if there is a season 2.
Damn, GOT turning into trash, aside, HBO gave me this and Chernobyl. Great year from them, for me.

Lindelof seemed to say there won't be a season 2. I think Season 1 ends nicely enough for me not to need to go back in.
Seems an odd take. They are so interwoven in theme and substance that it just feels like a total continuation and extension rather than sequel.
It's not really an indictment on the source material, but I find the show more interesting, because of how it handles minority representation. Something the comic didn't really do much with.
Watchmen the comic was definitely something written by the guy who is most famous for comics like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, V for Vendetta, etc.
It's a British ass comic that takes place in America. Lindelof actually Americanized it

I thought about it a while ago, and I think the reason why it resonated with me more is because the themes in the TV series strike me harder than the comic. When it comes to the comic it deals with themes that were more in line with the fears in 1985, the cold war, doomsday clock, the decay of America, etc. It was a time that I know and learnt, but not a time that I experienced or am experiencing.
It's like when I was in my teens, watching Escape From New York and wondered why anyone would want to make a place like New York into a prison. It was only until later I learnt about how New York was in the 70s-80s, that it started to make sense.

Jones also touches on race issues behind the scenes earlier in the interview. “They only see people of color as victims so they write you as victims,” he says. “So, Mr. Nancy not operating as a victim because he’s a god and not a human suddenly became problematic. All of these are the mindsets of individuals who think a certain way about certain people. That’s what we’re dealing with here.”Sounds like Fremantle is racist as shit. Par for the course for Hollywood TBH
The expanse season 4 was great. Not as good as season 3, but still really good. Left me wanting more. Season 3 was sooooooooooooo much longer. Because it was short, season 4 was basically a set up for Bobby and Chrisjen. Chrisjen's plot lines in season 4 was more involved than Bobbies but still …
The ending was a little abstract (Especially with regards to the Protomolicule Bomb and Miller turning into a polygon machine), but the overall point was relayed.

Ashford's last run was some shit because he had death flags all over. But like that? Not like that...
I thought the show kinda over dramatized it. slowly floating out and freezing while giving the monologue. They’re usually good with the science of death in space too. His death was obvious as soon as he said keep the booze for when I return.

his death was obvious when he flashed back to holding his child and thrown in our faces when he was trying to preach "the old days are over" right before things went to shit time and time again. i think the death being 'slower' was to account for all of the things that happened in a short time. marco, his fucking son ughhhhhhhh (i think he would've killed literally anyone else no problem), earth about to get rekt... dude's chapter ended along with a lot of others beginning. i'm glad they slowed it down because that was a hell of a scene.
if anything, they wasted too much time on the colony medic and her family. that bitch should be on trial too. random ass orphan kid on top of that? basically my only complaints of the season were related to how much time they got to go essentially nowhere
If it makes y'all feel any better apparently this is widely agreed upon as the worse book but that next season is gonna be better and a lot more interesting. Apparently we're getting way way more Amos as well. Apparently the book felt more like a bottle episode than a full book and Murtry's character was one dimensional.
