By Hitch Go To PostI have no idea what it would take for me to take any interest in watching an FPS esport. The player perspective makes it intrinsically shite compared to MOBAs.Not watching it in FPS mode will help. Won't be surprised if people are working on AI assisted camera and director for esport spectators.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostNot true. CS:GO is the best spectator esport by farFGC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Unlike The 4th Survivor and The Tofu Survivor, you can pick up more than the items you start with, but instead of finding items in the environment, you’ll find pickups by defeating specific zombies with backpacks, or grabbing items out of vending machines. Choose carefully, though; once you take an item from a vending machine, you’re locked out of the other two items for that run! Plan ahead, and you just might make it through.

How will watching something like Csgo in anything but first person perspective make sense?
It only makes sense in very short periods of time in each map, like seeing smokes and such as part of an execute.
There is already AI helped camera directors, but I think most have gone over to just having a slight delay to make sure the best perspective is seen.
Anyway the major qualifier stage just started today. 300k viewers already. They are also showing it on TV here (and on the big TV channels, not just some obscure ones). I go to work and hear teachers and other workers having watched this stuff, which just keeps surprising me. It's really starting to become mainstream as fuck, and the team jerseys are selling close to the top Danish football teams as well now.
By Smokey Go To Posti just played smash bros. its trash. gameplay is overrated af tbh
I can't work with this.
By Kibner Go To PostAnd they'll be out of the meta soon enough, whether by player meta changes or a new major balance patch that comes out, what 2-4 times a year?
Sure, but it's made the recent minor a ballache to watch, well, more of a ballache considering it's BTS hosting.
By Smokey Go To PostDys boi far cry coming out in friday
will pick up in 3 weeks half-price after it fails to sell to expectations in the UK mashallah.
By rvy Go To Postdeadmouse is overhe'll just put red lips on his black mouse helmet and gain a new fanbase.
Yeah I can't wait for Anthem players to be disappointed in the game and download Apex Legends with the PC Origin client.
By Flutter Go To PostRIP Bioware though.Layoffs?
Won't be surprised if there'll be some layoffs soon.
Bioware won't be a thing by the end of the year.
'Respawn Canada'
Bioware are done
Now I've cancelled Anthem and don't have to convince myself that it's good, I can admit that the beta was fucking dreadful

If it sells a lot, it'll be entirely down to marketing. So many core parts of it are bad, with a shitload of smaller annoyances in between.
A lot of the issues with it are technical/networking and can be addressed.
It doesn't seem broken and has a good bit of depth.. Honestly, the best thing to do is wait for impressions on performance or better yet, the taken king version in a year.
But most will get a good 50 hours from it and that should be enough.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostSo much hate for Anthem, watch it sell a crap load.I think it would have sold well regardless of quality a few weeks ago just because people would be looking for something to play
Then you will stand up for it.
but not anymore with Apex out.
By Kibner Go To Post1v1 quake matches also spectate well.
I enjoy them but I reckon it could be disorientating to people unfamiliar with Quake. Like when there’s a player going full universe brain and zipping around the map, going through 6 portals in 3 seconds and dicking on the other player.
CS:GO, I can watch despite not playing it. It’s a pretty smooth game to watch and some of mind games and plays are a joy to watch unfold.
I enjoy watching Siege games too, but there’s still so much they need to improve from a spectator point of view. It’s miles behind CS in that regard, and it’s a damn shame that they’re going into their 4th year and still don’t have a spectator mode as good as CS:GO’s.

Having a large base of concurrent users is not though.

By DY_nasty Go To PostPVP and PVE communities are worlds apartThey aren't. Chad is just looking for a new shooter to play, don't care if it's 'pve or pvp'

True, remember when Destiny was written off by true gamers a month after it came out.
It still retained a playerbase which grew more after The Taken King.
Would be hard to do so though with Fortnite, Apex, PUBG out.

Closest thing was Borderlands which lost its luster after 2 failed to follow up
Apex got millions of people using Origin now. Anthem will eat off that . Ain't even gotta buy it, just being in Origin Premiere gets you access.
EA won

Yes Apex (for reasons I can't comprehend) seems to be really popular right now. But it and Anthem are servicing different audiences. If you want space magic looter shooting you don't pick the division, you pick up destiny.
Apex is a competitive br fps - that is the opposite of everything Anthem stands for.
The audience may overlap slightly, but both games would never eat from the same bowl.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostThe audience may overlap slightly, but both games would never eat from the same bowl. Not slightly though. Plenty of FPSes player count has dwindled significantly thanks to BRs.
There's only a finite amount of gamers after all.

Nvm that people still somehow find time to play GTA Online and Rainbow Six despite other popular shooters.
By Kibner Go To Postthat's what i was afraid ofThe new armor system is neat, but you still can't do conventional shooter gameplay on bullet sponges that don't respect anything.
I've always felt there's a good game in Division, but they either gotta drop the realism angle or the heavy RPG focus. They're trying to ride a line that basically doesn't exist.
So we have gone from Beatsaber to Audica.
I cant wait for a VR nuclear missile code input rhythm game to come out soon.

That it hasn't seriously changed makes me unlikely to ever give it a shot.
