By HasphatsAnts Go To PostExactly. The most profitable part of the business is Mobile. Blizzard the least
Is that due to the King acquisition? Due to candy crush?
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostIs that due to the King acquisition? Due to candy crush?Correct.
By YungMagus Go To Postis that the save theme lmao
By Bold 2 in One Go To Postand it still didnt meet 'expectations' so when it doesnt everything else looks bad.You say that and Blizzard has been coasting with WoW, Hearthstone and Overwatch as its most profitable assets. Which respectively is 15, 5, and 3 years old. Like people have reiterated after my last post, Blizzard has been fucking up a lot.
In Risk, thats called a single point of failure. Instead of developing new IP, they are tripling down on COD. As succesful as COD is, its not sustainable in a world with Fortnite and Apex. And I say that as someone who loathes BR.
It's heartwarming though to see game developers reaching out to those affected by the layoffs though.

Can’t wait to see the Liverpool Ketwigs represented in the COD esport scene.

You really just gotta let it develop by itself. Cant force this shit.
Divinity 2 gotg
Only things I have an issue with are minor problems caused by playing on console, some fiddly cursor control in combat, the quest log being a bit rubbish and the lack of in-game details on what the status effects are. Would be nice to have a bestiary, but you can't have everything.
Would probably go for the platinum if it was doable in one playthrough and didn't include the hardcore mode.
Easy and free respeccing is a godsend. Taken me 35 hours just to get to the boat, and apparently the next chapter is like twice as big

the game really sounds amazing. i wish i had the energy to play this but i can't anymore. i'll try it on switch.
From Digital Foundry's dark regarding Metro Exodus on PC:
All I can say is that, playing on PC with RTX enabled, it's one of the most impressive looking things I've ever seen. Truly a new landmark in terms of visual quality. Absolutely insane. Alex is doing a big video on it soon.
Not sure. I'm running a 2080ti at 4K with DLSS enabled and getting locked 60fps with Ultra preset.
I also played around at 4K with a 30fps cap which allowed me to run with PhysX, Hairworks, Extreme preset and RTX on high at a perfectly frame paced 30.
a city based league for CoD? why..? It's been around this long under traditional league play. Do they really think changing OpTic's name to the Dallas [insert dumb shit here] is going to make CoD more popular? It's been over a decade, CoD isn't going to get any more popular.
but I guess they just want some suckers to buy in for 50 million dollars so they can give themselves million dollar raises while laying off thousands of people

I tried about 3 times to get into the first Metro redux game but it never grabbed me. Arktika.1 was good though (VR spinoff).
Alex from DF on Metro Exouds
BTW just wanna say I love this game from everything I have played in my 15-20 hours of real play. Like stalker, Crysis, a bit of perfect dark and the better parts of far cry 2 in one.
With RTX on PC it looks generationally better than without it and the console versions. Yep.

From the Polygon article it sounds like this game is teetering on the edge of what consoles can handle. Enjoy the smooth gameplay lads.

imagine owning a base console at this point
Can you guess what was the game most of this team made before?

Pretty cool. Will definitely pick it up next year after a full PC build mashallah brother smokey
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postgoing too e-sports centric always hurts these gamesIt's only helped DotA2, tbh. Though their balance is more about making games more entertaining to watch and play and not necessarily about balance between characters (unless it leads to a stale meta).

i really fucking hate how prominent KOTL and Darkseer are now in the pro meta.
By SUPER YARAK Go To Posti really fucking hate how prominent KOTL and Darkseer are now in the pro meta. And they'll be out of the meta soon enough, whether by player meta changes or a new major balance patch that comes out, what 2-4 times a year?
Probably going to change then.
More games that aspire to be esports should follow how Valve balances and created Dota 2
although of course it's harder than being said. Looked at how badly they handled Artifact.

valve's investment into dota 2 esports was more of a case of pouring gas on a fire, dota 1 already had a healthy esports scene, which was absolutely key to the success of moba esports. expanding on that legacy with a single giant tournament meant that you get the esports benefits, but allowed for more flexibility as tournament organisers could do their own thing throughout the year. you had many actors pushing for dota's success. only riot have succeeded with the franchise model, but that was still after a few years of grassroots competition, and was also reliant on the legacy of dota 1's competitive scene.
overwatch was an experiment to see if you could manufacture an esports scene. it failed.
as for cod esports... at least it has a legacy now, problem is it's a shitty one. there's far more potential than overwatch, but im sure they'll still fuck it up.

True facts
Think Apex Legends has a good shot at being a popular esport pick.
Also Rerixo was on point, although Valve is heading into some troubles in the next few years or so. Some good casters have already left because there's very little money in casting, while LoL countered this by giving casters full time jobs.
That and they continue to have the most horrible PR practice in the industry.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postgoing too e-sports centric always hurts these gamesNah. League of Legends wouldn't be where it is today without esports. At the end of the day your game has to be both popular and also worthwhile as a spectator.
Overwatch is, at the moment at least, neither.
I have no idea what it would take for me to take any interest in watching an FPS esport. The player perspective makes it intrinsically shite compared to MOBAs, fighting and RTS games.
