By /sy Go To Postin the beginning yeah,ps3 turned it around though.the sales gap is irrelevant to xbox live, attach rate, etc
Remember when everyone loved the Xbox 360 despite RROD and then they decided to focus on Kinect halfway into a winning strategy and ultimately lost all marketshare going forward?
By rerixo Go To Postthe sales gap is irrelevant to xbox live, attach rate, etcif you're speaking strictly about the USA i guess?
360 was washed overseas.

By /sy Go To Postthe one's terrible PR and marketting cost them.Plus, it was $100 more expensive at launch. So it was $500 and a lot of people thought it couldn't play used games and had to always be online.
Their messaging on Scarlett/Series X has been a lot more clear from the start. Assuming they don't price themselves out, it'll be fine.

I've never had so many matches end in the opposing team quitting as much as the past few days. I've been playing for years now too, it's a pretty big sample.

By diehard Go To PostWhat? The 360 was more successful than the PS3 in the US and the One being less powerful than the PS4 cost them.it tied the ps3 WW at a much lower price point, with a year more on the market and sony fucking up everything they possibly could. congratulations, MS will never get a chance like this again and they went and made the XB1.
people forget the PS3 launched at $599 and the 360 had a $299 SKU.
By Laboured Go To PostImagine how fucked MS's game division would be if they ever had to actually turn a profit.they would have crashed and burned a looong time ago if they didn't have infinite money to burn.
whoever has the cheaper console and better specs (or at least comparable specs) will bag next-gen. depends on who will bite the bullet and is ready to lose money on consoles sold. if they release at pretty much the same price and comparable specs then people will look at the games, so you can cross microsoft outta that really fast.
The issue with MS has always been that their first party department sucks ass, and there's no reason for it to.
Kids don't give a shit about Halo, Gears, or Forza. You ain't going to get the Fortnite MILF money exclusively off the Gen X and Millenials that still care about this archaic franchises. And then you hear rumors about a new Fable? Like what are you doing in your games division. I don't much care for the Sony first party games personally, but it's clear that they found a formula that works that a lot of demos enjoy. Making Gears have a female lead isn't going to make it stop looking like generic meathead shootbang the game. Nintendo constantly roping in new generations while keeping the man child demo with shit like Animal Crossing and Pokemon.

ninja theory is not even good enough for game pass
the only studio they have that consistently puts out great games is playground games, and they're stuck with fable of all things

By Daz Go To PostThey would have been shut down in 2015.they wouldn't have survived the OG Xbox and the certainly not the 360.
By Kawhic Go To Postthey wouldn't have survived the OG Xbox and the certainly not the 360.OG Xbox was home to some classic western RPGs, it had a distinct identity and introduced the world to console online online gaming for better or worse.
It had its place, but it couldnt compete with the juggernaut that was the PS2.

I wasn't talking about quality. OG XBOX live and first 360 days were some of the most fun i had in gaming.
who really cares about gears 5 or whatever
nintendo does that shit because not all of their ips are shooty bang bang, even sony tries to do different genres, meanwhile microsoft still peddling Halo, Forza and Gears

By Kawhic Go To PostI wasn't talking about quality. OG XBOX live and first 360 days were some of the most fun i had in gaming.Diversity has always been a problem for the Xbox. But it stems from the Anglo-American focus of the culture of the company.
that's not really true, when the right people were in charge there was not lack of diversity
some games were more successful than others
xbox had otogi, phantom dust, panzer dragoon, sudeki, conker, the PSO games, oddworld, breakdown, bunch of sega games that didn't make it anywhere else
shit like that, then you had your halos (back when halo was THE thing) and your forzas and your project gotham racings and your bioware rpgs that you couldn't play on other consoles
I blame don mattrick
bring back j allard

from the stories surrounding scalebound and phantom dust it seems the ms higher ups only want 1 kind of game

Is there any point to changing my Steam password because of these knobends trying to hack my account? I've already done it like three times and it just happens again and again, they've yet to get into my email for the security code though.
That reads like an awful who's on first skit.
The name isn't great, but I'm sure it won't actually be an issue here, Someone will explain that it's the 'new' one, and it'll be fine

Wonder how much the Wii U name actually contributed to it's failure. Feel like it was used as an excuse by Nintendo fans in the wake of them releasing a console nobody wanted more than anything.

I remember the launch well and bought one shortly afterwards. At the time there was definitely, at least it seemed, a desire for new hardware.
When it did come out though, a lack of games and really shitty third ports left it dead in the water. The marketing and name were just the cherry on top.
