By Facism Go To Postdamn shame we're not getting a l4d3. Versus was so much fun, loads of fukkery and angry Europeans.Truly incredible.
Versus and scavenge were so fucking amazing with a decent team.
By Laboured Go To PostTalk of L4D VR as part of Valve's VR onslaught. Not that I think that that is what you wanted for a single second.
indeed you are correct herr Laboured

Xbox Game Pass PC app keeps the download package cache (or that's what it is I'm guessing) even after the game has successfully been installed for certain games. Effectively the game takes up twice the amount of space on your drive. Deleting it renders the game unplayable. Clicking play in the app will not launch the game anymore. After uninstalling the game, the cache will not be deleted automatically either.
I found it a bit crazy Metro Exodus was taking up 120GB on my SSD so I uninstalled it and deleted the duplicate. The filenames in that cache folder are some kind of code, maybe product key I don't know. There is no way of matching the game with that file besides the file size. Uninstalled Metro and deleted the 60GB file. I had one more game installed and two of those superfluous files which are almost the same size. I didn't want to break my install and have to download everything again so I gambled and deleted one. Wrong one, game won't launch.
I am baffled.

I had a similar problem, actually, when I was trying to install Gears 4. It just kept downloading even after the game should have been finished downloading and showed up as a 200+ gig install. Even after I uninstalled, I didn't get the hard drive space back.
After researching it, there's seemingly no real way for the user to access Windows Store temp files (Game Pass app is a front for the Windows Store). Windows automatically deletes the Store cache after a couple of weeks. So basically, I didn't get the hard drive space back until like three weeks later when Windows decided it was going to clean the cache. Very well designed.

this is a genre i'd kinda be interested in seeing get more push
There's been some meh 4 players vs super powered player ideas that I think are pretty wack, but the idea of 4 players vs an environment that's essentially orchestrated and modified from a top down perspective by a game master of sorts in real time is interesting.
The trick is in having enough options that things are interesting instead of everything just being "lul i locked a door behind you and spawned a horde in front of you."

I also can't find my Reach install anywhere anymore. I found the hidden folder for game installs on my C drive but I don't have access to that folder. I give up.
If you are trying to find the install to move it, you do that through "Apps & features":
If you want to change where apps are installed by default, you have to go through Storage:
Yes, it is all quite dumb.

Under "Apps & features", you can also click "Advanced" which lets you "Reset" an app if you are having issues with it. It basically puts the app in a kind of first-time-run mode so that all the configuration settings and such can be reset to defaults.
It's worth trying before deleting and re-installing, anyway.

Yeah I found the move function. The thing is it works alright under the normal circumstances but I'm bothered by the fact that I can't get to the actual folder and its contents. Sometimes a man wants easy access to his .ini and .cfg files man.

It doesn't help that the folders change names every time there is an update to the game/app you are trying to access.
e: iirc, the folder names are based off the app id, which i think changes with each published version of the app. so, every time a new version comes out, the folder names change

Sometimes a man wants easy access to his .ini and .cfg files man.UWP apps are protected, mostly you can't even access the folder. Simple things like moving apps or even stuff like changing drive letters is a nightmare. You know, basic stuff Steam does with a couple clicks, but people love pretending they are all the same thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you go into disk management settings, you'll also notice that Windows treats every XBX App game install as a new volume for some reason. I love gamepass, but you have to walk on eggshells and basically not expect anything more than installing and launching a game. UWP gotta go.
By Mystikal McGhee Go To Postwhat is this, a link to buy the game?Yeah, they updated RE2 to have a store link to RE3 and a letter from Jill you can find in Kendo's shop.
This is giving me a good reason to finish my Claire run.
By /sy Go To PostLooks like there'll be some xbox scarlett news tonightEven though Phil is going to be on stage, I wouldn't count on this being the case.
Microsoft has said that they're going to show games tonight. They've confirmed a new trailer for Ori and the unveil for Gears Tactics. People want to believe Halo will be there, but I doubt it. Maybe they show a trailer for The Initiative's game.

bailed out 3 hours before it starts wat, thought they would have sent in a trailer by now unless it was planned to be a live demo.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostIts bafflingPeople are very attached to their console of choice and desperately want it to be the more powerful one, even as walls start to come down and crossplay becomes more widespread and you have stuff like Sony publishing MLB on Xbox.
