Finished Gears 5 with my bro. It was ... yeah. Moderate fun in coop, as most of these games are, but utterly unremarkable both as a 3rd person shooter and as a Gears sequel. Story was the usual shit as well, told in the same boring Gears way, so I'm really struggling to understand even half the praise it got. It's not even all that good looking, not as far as sheer graphics go, nor artistically. Some nice scenes and materials, that's all.

you gotta get that headshot accuracy up bro, this is the first CoD where getting headshots means a lot. Can lower kills by up to a bullet which is part of why the M4 is so good rn. It's the only AR with a first shot accuracy bonus something like that while the others tend to get better over time (bursts).

Reload animation while ADS. It looks great, but it’s fucking horrible as a game mechanic. There should be an option in the menu to disable it.
In Siege, aiming down sights mid reload cancels the reload and that is so much more comfortable in gameplay over sprinting or weapon swapping to cancel the reload.
Spawns are still dog shit. I’ll never get over how bad they are. They were bad in CoD4 12 years ago, yet they’re still just as bad if not worse now. Spawning in the line of sight of an enemy/killstreak, on a live grenade, behind an enemy. Especially bad in domination, at least once a match of my team is down to one flag, for example A, then the game will randomly plonk me down by the enemy C flag. It’s fucking absurdly common, happens on even the larger 6v6 maps.
Stun grenades are far too strong and the perk that counters them barely works. It is absolutely impossible to turn 90 degrees while stunned. I just lay prone as soon as I get hit with one now and take the dry fucking because there’s fuck all else I can do about it. I hate them more than claymores.
Dog shit spawns. Did I mention those already? Speaking of spasms though, that 2-3 second animation that plays when you pull out your gun after spawning? Fucking stupid idea. Never take player control out of the hands of the player in an FPS. It serves no purpose, and in a game with spasms that’ll place you in the line of sight of enemies already, it leaves you completely defenceless on spawn.
All in all, it’s a solid 6/10 multiplayer experience. Thank you for coming to my Tom talk.

I'm like 12 hours into Final Fantasy XV and I think it might suck? It's an open world that you can't really explore because you have to rest every night and because you're also at the mercy of this car, which drives in real time across the world.
I've been doing a lot of the side quests and I think that was maybe my mistake because they all just feel like busywork. The only one I've done so far that felt like a real, fleshed out thing was the one at the chocobo farm to kill the behemoth.
I should give up, right? None of this gets better?
