By MonadL Go To PostFallen Order is going to be a very good $30 purchase down the road.
More like "free" on any of those subscription services
They’re still figuring out whether updates should be released all at once or over an extended period of time. Anthem could be overhauled through a series of updates, a la No Man’s Sky, it could get a game-changing expansion like Destiny’s critically acclaimed Taken King. Most of Anthem’s biggest systems—its mission structure, its loot, its world—will change drastically, but the developers have not yet figured out exactly what that will look like. They’re even considering releasing Anthem Next as a brand new game, although those who work on the project said that could take a lot of forms (and it’s unlikely they’ll charge full-price to Anthem players).Charging players for the fix for your broken game would be a bold strategy.
Also, a new Mass Effect game is in very early development at the Edmonton office under director Mike Gamble.

game killing you in 2 hits doesn't mean its good
that said im vaguely interested from what im seeing of jedi
that said im vaguely interested from what im seeing of jedi
By toku Go To Postnot really 2 hits, but yeah it's challenging.
the game feels unpolished tho, off the top of my head:
character movement is really clunky, animations are a mixed bag with a lot more bad than good
platforming is not good at all, call misses jumps and wall-runs for the dumbest collision issues and there's a tomb with air pressure that changes your direction mid-air. it's awful.
you tend to get stuck in geometry when fighting in big tree branches, which happens enough to be annoying
the boy cal has all kinda weird issues with collision detection, he often glitches when a cutscene finishes, like they loaded the level too late
the boss fights are fairly good, but regular enemy encounters are more annoying than challenging
fighting non-human enemies is a bit of a mess
performance-wise, yeeesh
the soulslike bonfire system doesn't really work with a story-driven game. boss fights are OK because there's usually a bonfire just before, but watching a big cutscene to only end up dead and resetting a long while beforehand is an immersion killer for this sorta game
they probably have something here if they can improve it for a sequel, but as of right now it just solidifies that western devs really can't do combat well. darksiders 2 being an exception to the rule and even that is pretty simplistic. at least games like batman are just very basic combo challenges that look good. this here is stuck between wanting to have depth and not having people that know how to do it. dad of war has better combat.
Imagine instead of star wars it was a Ronin character action mecha game instead

How about, and I'm going a bit wild here, they make another Titanfall game because they are the fucking best.
By rerixo Go To Posthope titanfall 3 does away with the mech garbageThat's called Apex Legends.
By rerixo Go To Posthope titanfall 3 does away with the mech garbageLike there's even gonna be a Titanfall 3.
Aoe2 enhanced graphics pack doesn't work. This is why I hate using Microsoft's store for anything. Just 15 years behind even origin
By rvy Go To PostI too hope gears of war does away with the shooting garbagetitanfalls strengths are in its traversal and short campaign length
apex doesn't feel as good to play, unless it's changed since launch
By toku Go To Posthow was rage 2?I'm an hour in and bored shitless by it.
By rvy Go To Postjesus even the lock-on is finicky in jfo, this big bird boss fight is doing me inWas watching max play earlier and he wasn't happy at the drop in quality regarding map design after the first 2 areas, plus the shitty lockon, the camera and the jank
he knows what he's saying. I think witcher 3 is less janky than this, especially movement
that is saying something tbh
that is saying something tbh
it'll probably be pretty nice when it hits 30 bucks
hopefully a lot of the bugs and performance issues will be ironed out by then. also I'm beginning to think that I might go for the 30fps option because the inconsistent framerate is hell for parrying blasters, straight up. unlocked for a game that dips this often is just not good

yeh i'm fucking Age of Empires 2 off. Windows store fucking sucks, there's no way i'm redownloading 50 gigs to get a fucking graphics pack working. Microsoft stans need a fucking slap.
I've been messing with the xCloud streaming and I just can't get it to work well. On my home wi-fi, it is basically unplayable because of the severe input lag. This happened in a couple of different games, with the controller either connected via bluetooth or plugged into my phone via USB.
I don't know, man. Streaming ain't it.

people forgot that the xbox one being always online was more of a dealbreaker than they remember, why anyone thought streaming games is the thing is beyond me
maybe in 2030 or something

How did Project Stream (Stadia beta) work for you?
For me, when it actually opened, it worked flawlessly, but I could only get the client to open 20% of the time because it insisted on constant sub-40ms ping and my wifi was not doing that.

The thing at the highest level, which will probably get me in trouble, is as gamers you should focus on what you want, not focus on, like, my P&L [profit and loss statement], or the P&L of the console you chose to invest in. I see this dialogue about somebody worried that somehow Xbox is gonna make less money, or their console is gonna make less money if they tell me a game is going to be on a different platform before it actually comes out, or it's gonna be in a subscription, which is really what I want, but somehow that's gonna mean less money for them so I don't want them to do that because I'd rather pay more money so…
You should focus on you as a gamer and the things that matter to you. We as the people running the business - I am incented to run a good business inside of Microsoft and in the long term. I've been here for 31 years. I don't know that I'll make 31 more, but I'm not going anywhere tomorrow. We're building an Xbox business for the long run. I'll tell you, Game Pass today is a strong part of that, and it continues to get stronger, and it supports the building of great IP.
the fact that phil has to even say this to The Gamers
although a lot of it is Concern Trolling because Microsoft
By rvy Go To Postpeople forgot that the xbox one being always online was more of a dealbreaker than they remember, why anyone thought streaming games is the thing is beyond meI just remember the Giant Bomb dudes raving about it after seeing it at E3, talking about how "it just works." "I could active reload in Gears." I died in the first level of H5 because I couldn't aim properly. Maybe if you're really close to one of their data centers, like you would be in Los Angeles, it works well?

By HasphatsAnts Go To PostHow did Project Stream (Stadia beta) work for you?I didn't try the Stadia beta, but I heard a lot of the same things about it. I'd be up for trying it, but buying new hardware for it and then paying per game is a tough proposition. xCloud held more appeal because I already have such a big library of Xbox games.

Its strengths is that it does small and agile and big tank gameplay supremely well. And the cycles of these moments is mostly brilliantly balanced too.
By HoboVapes Go To PostWowweee that bridge map on MW is even more terrible that I heard it was
It is awful but I actually think Azhir Cave and Piccadilly are worse. It’s hard to think of a good map in that game.
