By /sy Go To PostAlso GOT definitely seems like development hell. Sucker Punch out out their last game like 6 years agoMaybe.
They're a fairly small studio and it's a brand new IP, where they put alot of research into. Bet they also had different prototypes of games before they made the decision for Ghost.

By HottestVapes Go To PostMore on Disco Elysium, because it is genuinely so fucking good and I can’t stop talking about it.I'm gonna play the game just to read this intriguing wall of text
I’ll spoiler it because I don’t want to ruin anyone’s first play through, but it’ll be really light on actual plot spoilers.
My very first play through, I died due to moral damage after failing one or two skill checks at the hanged man. I restarted afterwards, for some reason I had it in my head that it was a permadeath game and I didn’t realise it wasn’t for 10 or so hours in.
Regardless, I kept going as if it was a permadeath game. I died on my second play through again to moral damage on the roof, after failing the skill check to jump for the rain coat. A mental breakdown ensued, over a fucking rain coat.
Those were my only deaths, my third attempt I had a better understanding overall of the systems at play. The closest I came to dying again was the composure skill checks when meeting the Union boss.
Speaking of which, I didn’t find my badge or belongings until the 4-5th day. I never actually knew the name of my character until then.
When I met the Union boss earlier on and he knew the main character’s name, I thought it was a piss take and he was just fucking with him.
Other cool shit to mention, but more spoilery.
The way the quests are laid out in this, how so many of them are in some tied to each other. It reminds me of metroidvania level design applied to quests/characters. It’s superbly well done. When you get to a reveal of how all the dots connect with a side story, it’s like that moment in Super Metroid where you learn how to wall-jump or in Dark Souls when you discover the back door to Blighttown and see how it’s woven into the rest of the game world.
Also I was 15 hours in before it dawned on me that there was actually no combat system at all in the game. The lack of combat didn’t even register with me while playing through it.
By Smokey Go To PostGhosts of Tsushima also pushed further back into 2020. Not like anybody didn't see this coming for either game even when they were announced. Should've just saved them for PS5 launch.
Why save it for the PS5? They can just release a “remaster” with minimal effort on the PS5 and you lot will eat it up twice.
That's odd, the delay I mean.
I'm all for giving devs the time they need but at this pace Sony will have one new game per studio for the entirety of Ps5's lifespan. Don't know if that's the way to go.

Sony can literally get away with anything thats 1st party.

I’d say so, yes. Especially if the BC cannot change the native render resolution. If the TLOU2 is 1440p on PS4, people will absolutely pay for a native 4K re-release on PS5.

It absolutely could if they wanted it to.
But then they wouldn't be able to charge tech illiterate suckers for two copies.
I expect Cyberpunk to get delayed too but I wonder where it's gonna end up with all these big names getting delayed as well.

Tech illiterates are how they can charge £10 more for worse versions of PS4 games on switch lmao.
By RrusheR Go To PostThat's odd, the delay I mean. For fans maybe. For Sony they'll get critically acclaimed games that sell for millions. Even a game like Days Gone did really well.

People asking for TLOU 2 multiplayer are embarrassing. What for? To appease ten thousand players a month? Go play real multiplayer games.
Agreed
People who want more of the thing that they like should throw themselves off a bridge, frankly.

Naw just some extra time for them to crunch brother. They love that shit, or at least that's what they like to pretend.
By /sy Go To PostSkull and Bones delayed past March 2021.Obviously they saw Sea of Thieves and realised the bar had been raised
Game being completely remade
At this point people are a bit naive to believe the initial release dates from these massive games
Trash like FIFA will obviously have no delays and accurate release dates, but these other big devs giving unrealistic ETAs is dumb
